Check the signatures of some of the posters here- they have begun compiling spreadsheets with skills and items. Personally, I like the randomization. My first Grey Wizard got mainly healing spells, then Occam's Mindrazors. He would hang back healing, then finish off big enemies with the mindrazors. My current GW has the night blade spell and teleportation. I have been using him more as a battle mage type. I think it adds a great deal of replayability.
Well, I've just finished all the red quests in the IAP and that black quest is bugged too. I had hoped that unlocking the second black quest would make both black quests selectable, but no such luck. Hopefully the patch will be out soon, maybe that will fix it.
I just completed the Idol of Mork quest and nothing happened. Do I need to get the Skaven expansion to "beat" the game?
Yes I'm tight on cash but I have some 10 bucks on iTunes credit so I'm trying to decide is this game wroth half of that since I won't be getting any credit money soon. So many mixed responses here, first is the game still a complete game without the expansion? I'm trying to make a smart purchase with the credit I have left . Or is there a better game comming soon I should save my money for?
I played this game for 20 hours before I bought the expansion. I had reached level 6 with one character and level 5 with the others in that period of time. If there was no expansion I would have kept playing side quests in the main game and leveled up everyone to 6, but I bought the expansion so now I'm doing those new quests.
Yes it is complete without the expansion, but they have made it so settlements will uncover on the map that you can't go to unless you buy it. So there is a bit of trying to make you feel like you're missing out unless you fork out, they do similar with the additional characters. I enjoyed the expansion though and have gotten a lot of game time out of WHQ, but not interested in the additional characters at the current prices.
I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "not selectable", but, like the red quests in the game, you can only select the black quests from specific cities, namely Wurtbad for the main black quest, and Dunkelberg for the expansion black quest.
But Warhammer Quest is a just board game, so just keep playing it or replaying it if you enjoy this game... Does the difficulty of the Skaven missions get easier once you hit level 6? Because half my party is level 5, and the other half is level 4 now, and I found those missions very tough.
White missions seem to scale with your level so they throw a few enemy at you and can be tough but manageable, the red quests don't seem to scale though and found them easier because I was already above their suggested level. From memory all by party were level 5-6 when I purchased the expansion.
Well, in my defence, that's not explained anywhere - the black quests are shown on the map all the time, and when I tapped on them something happened (if I'd just restarted the app I'd see a black box instead of the normal info box, if I hadn't just restarted the app the info box I'd see was whatever the last quest I selected was). Whereas if you tap on cites that are too far away so you can't select them, nothing happens.
Hey, you don't have to defend anything. I was as confused as you were when I first unlocked the black quest.
Thanks @HLW and @Bytebrain. I'll definitely get them all and the expansion. Swapping the characters around will make the game more interesting. I'm really enjoying their skill level ups. The Wizard and Marauder have truly become powerhouses at level 5.
Yep, you have to complete all the red quests first. Then the black quests will appear. One in the main game, and one in the expansion pack. Be sure to kit your warriors with the best gear you can find, and have them all at level 6, because the black quests is much harder than the regular red quests. And bring loads of healing potions... The white quests are random and never ending, so we have something to do after completing the game. They are scaling, (somewhat), to your level.
I finished the black quest.. Idol mort or something.. Then when I went back town it's there again? When does it end? On my quest list I already completed 9/9 I think
Is anyone else unable to finish quests because the game crashes and takes them out of the dungeon? I've been off this game for a few days now, waiting for the support team to reply to my inquiry. It stays there, probably so you can redo it and because there's no town to go to to reset it like with the red quests.
Big bug!!! In the expansion set you have to kill a skaven mage who curesd a bell whiich is decimating the village. Just as you kill it off it teleports out of the fight, and the game locks up. Anyone else have this happen? If i back out and dont complete this qiuest logically i wont be able to finish the campaign. Has rodeo mentioned to any when to expect a patch?
This bug is well know. A huge patch for the game is right at this moment in review at Apple and should be here in the next days.
