Oh god how could I just forgot about value! So stupid. Could take decades to spot one again. I had not free slot so didnt pick it up. Also it's boots of deception not deflection. Ah I can't decide between drain magic and apotheosis. It's my third level 6 archmage and no more. What's your thought?
Get Apotheosis, if you do not have another healing spell yet that is equally good. I have both, and tried Drainmagic a few times, but did not like it too much. Main reason being that it works in an area around your Archmage; so you have to be close to the caster you want to drain. Doesn't help me when that guy is at the other end of the room, with a bunch of other baddies blocking the way.
Ok, I'm getting really fed up with this game now. Just finished a quest, and the game crashed at the experience distribution page. And again, it crashed when I reloaded the save file. The next time I loaded that save file, I'm shown the map screen with only the route back to the previous town available; loot FORFEITED, experience FORFEITED, route to next town NOT unlocked. The only thing that quest did was add to my gameplay time and get rid of some consumables I used in that dungeon. If exiting the dungeon without "officially" clearing it forces you to forfeit everything you gained, at least make sure there's no bug-forced exit. If that's not possible, then it's probably much better to let people leave dungeons WITHOUT forfeiting all these things. I was going to purchase the archmage soon but I'll wait until this game is fixed. In the meantime, there are better things to spend that money on. I've noticed my Marauder activating the skill once, and it was indeed only active for the first round. However, I didn't get the extra attacks
I've also had my dwarf use the enrage skill yesterday while running the black orc cave fight again to check if you could get several rare items that let you get a full heal once per duingeon. It's quite funny when your dwarf gets +6 attacks :... but it's pretty rare..
i am trying to like this game. right now i just don't feel really drawn to it, though i'm still playing it daily so explore its potential. a few minor questions please. why does my barbarian constantly have a 1 available range attack though he can't attack range or have a range weapon? i have a ring that has lightning damage. why does it sometimes disappear altogether from my character even though i haven't used it yet it's equipped? the experience thing troubles me. so you can only gain experience if your character doesn't die and if he does kills. even as a support unit to heal, no experience. that's it, thanks!
The available number of ranged and melee attacks will still show regardless of whether or not you're equipped with the weapon needed to use that attack. For example, if you unequip your melee weapon, you'll still have 1 (or more) melee attacks available even though you won't actually be able to execute it. Your Marauder can equip a bow even while he's equipping a melee weapon; when you do, you'll be able to do ranged attacks. Your lightning ring can only be used once per dungeon. If you have it equipped, it should show on your warrior's item list in the dungeon UI, with a number next to it indicating how many times left you can use it (usually it's just 1, then 0 and greyed out once you've used it. Maybe more than 1 if you have more than 1 of that same ring equipped). I think your character gains experience from the amount of damage s/he dealt on enemies as well as the amount s/he healed on allies.
Just equip your Marauder with a bow, and he'll be able to do ranged attacks. Healing does grant experience, actually.
Cool one thing I didn't know is that you can zoom out on the main map And what by the looks of it might be a third expansion that's going to go towards the bottom
It keeps crashing and I'm having fun grrrrrrr so angry why why why. I'm using a iPhone 5 and it keeps crashing
Here's the problem with your complaints, which are not necessarily incorrect from a certain p.o.v., it's just that all of this should have been known to you before going in. It's an adaptation of a boardgame with limited miniatures (unit types) and board pieces, of course it's repetitive and limited in scope. Of course it doesn't take all that long to "beat". The game's core design was built around the concept of 2-4 players replaying the same basic content over and over (which, admittedly, the single player adaptation is more than a little wonky on since they don't have any sort of true victory/end game condition, a rather large flaw in the design imo). Of course the events are repetitive - they are based on a limited card mechanic not unlike Monopoly's Community Chest. At any rate, the rules are easily found online so you have no one to blame but yourself if you're shocked at the notion that all the dungeons are samey, short, with few variations on events. Further, it's a fairly faithful IP from Games Workshop, a company hardly known for their cost conscious consumer friendliness (Want to play a physical version of their games? Well, get ready to drop a couple of hundred dollars before you realize that to really compete you're going to need to drop another few hundred... and that you'll still only have 10% of whatever game it was you decided to play). The game is what it is, an inexpensive adaptation of an out of print boardgame from a world famous game publisher that would set you back at least $200 just for the base game in physical form. Some questionable choices were made in how it was adapted to a single player state, but, otherwise, it plays more or less the same as the original boardgame. Its replay value is the same as any other boardgame, when you've reached the end, you put the pieces in the box, drag them out later, and do it all over again. Perfectly understandable if that's not for you, but it doesn't take away from what the game is, or what anyone with an internet browser and online connection should have understood the gist of before plunking down their $5.
Agree 100% with this post. I think more people need to realize that this is not an rpg. It is a boardgame with rpg elements. I feel those complaining that it is a short game may be thinking of it as a traditional srpg. That is why the random nature is important. You could play a second game with the exact same characters, and they may play very differently based on what skills they get and equipment they find. Same with a third game. Personally, I love the game. I love the Warhammer universe, boardgame feel video games, and randomization. It is like the devs asked me specifically what I wanted in a video game. If you are a reader, and enjoy the atmosphere of the game, I recommend the Gotrek and Felix books by William King.
I have had this since release and have brought all the IAP. Which I don't normally do and think for the time I have put into this and still not finished it is worth every penny. Having never played warhammer quest the board game before (though I did have hero quest) I am still enjoying it. I hope there is some new IAP to come soon. (Not very often I say that about an IOS game!) Anyways does anyone remember the warhammer games that came out on pc and playstation 1. There was a sequel out as well. It involved you managing an army and moving round a map and fighting armies. Can't remember the true names but would love either to come out for IOS. I think the first one involved rats (maybe even skaven!)
Yeah there is planned IAP mostly because when you complete the black Ork quest an achievement pops up saying 1 of 3 (2 being the skaven black quest) and 3 being the third IAP plus if you zoom out on the main map you have Stirland and Reikland plus a third area down below that has a partial area name I think it's Averland
I stand corrected. After play testing last night, I agree that there is aggro in this game and it appears to be on the person who last hit the the mob. You can also somewhat see who has aggro by the direction of who the mob is facing. I tested this last night with a cluster of high hp skavens. I first hit the group with my Archmage AOE and then GW AOE. Then I followed up with a fire bomb from my Ironbreaker. Both of the mage and wizard AOE does more damage than the firebomb. Then I moved my dwarf to another corner of the room and all the mobs hit by the fire bomb immediately turned to face my dwarf. True enough when I ended the turn, the mobs went for my dwarf instead of my magic users.
And I was hoping for the expansion to feature the undead but if their do plan to expand it to Averland then that area is mostly populated by orks and goblins....there could add a different enemy type but it would really fit with the lore Reikland is fitting for the skaven since in the lore that were there are settled (amongst other places) and also chaos cults are suppose to be their as well in Reikland
I would love to see a lizardman hero! ^______^ (I still have my lizard army without playing for years, but I love the miniatures)
