Had to buy additional IAPs for Warhammer Quest, those guys did a marvelous job, game just shines quality all over.Definitely a GOTW, maybe even GOTY material ( depends how much they're planning to add in upcoming updates), and despite KOTOR being released this game just captivates me more into its huge lore and world and is actually even suited for "shorter plays" and periods of time. Gold definitely isn't needed that bad for anyone to go after that IAPs, as mentioned they are for people who want to finish game but simply don't have that much time around to spare or want an "easy" mode from beginning. Currently questing with my " The Goonies" party consisting of Marauder, Troll Slayer, Elf Waywatcher and Arcmage. Anyone care to share their party names and preferred classes in it , I'm new to game so still experimenting with that a bit
How do you like the troll slayer vs the marauder? I meant to pick up TS and the warrior priest, but I have to wait till the morning to put more $$$ on my iTunes account. My marauder is lvl 3, wields a 2 handed axe and is a total glass cannon. But he's tainted by chaos and I really want to replace him with a troll slayer tomorrow. What are your impressions?
Found a typo, after not giving the dude his lute, one of the sentences says something similar to "They'll be trouble". It should be "There will be trouble". You could use "There'll be trouble", but it's still a slightly odd contraction. I suppose it makes sense with the theme of the game and their speech mannerisms though. Also, if anyone's interested, I've confirmed that the crash bug is affected by the predetermined dice rolls, making it seem a lot worse than it probably is. Every time I restarted the game, the enemies would attack me in exactly the same way and the game would crash. Initially I just tried attacking them in a different order, but their movements against me didn't change. Later, I used another character to lure them away and actually mix up their attacks a bit more, and I was able to finish the quest. tl;dr version: If you keep crashing in the same place, try a different strategy and force the enemies to change theirs too.
This game is ridiculously good, been playing a few of the skaven missions and I like the way it's just a seamless addon just expanding the map so you have more to explore. Found my first orange(rare) loot item as a random loot from a side quest
I too loved the seamless addon...plan to spend hours along the border to fight some Skavens and Orcs. Latest expansion red quests are, hands down, the best in the game...
I'm sure this has been touched upon somewhere in the past thread, but do the white quests eventually run out (finite)? Or can you replay them indefinitely. Trying to gauge how much time I spend on them compared to the red mission quests. Thanks!
I was saving up to buy one (orange loot) but maybe I shouldn't Plus if anybody wants to grind a bit you can reset the red quests in any town . So you can do the lvl one red quests over as much as you want if you want to gain xp and loot easier.
To report back what's already been established: yes, I had to close it via multitasking & reopen, however the game had saved me in the exact same place. The nature of the error seems that it'd never happen in actual combat.. I think? Well, there are ambushes. So I could easily be wrong there. Don't worry, friend. I also started a casual game first, for the same reasons. And I'm glad I did - it's taking me a bit to get a hang of the game and its mechanics, and I know I'd be really frustrated from dying all the time forever if the game wasn't taking it easy on me. Questions to any who have bought the extra characters: are they fun? What's the gameplay/strategy like? Have you find yourself permanently replacing any of your default four, or do you just use them sometimes? Trying to resist buying one/some until I've at least played a little more of the game, but they just look so cool.
I got the trollslayer at the outset coz I respected his beard. Can't say how he compares to my benched dwarf as he has permanently relegated to the sidelines. If I had it over again I would stick with the stock and then gradually get the others so you can appreciate the different flavours
Definitely fun. Here's my quickee run down: Trollslayer is a hard hitting tank not all that different from the Iron breaker truth be told so far. I assume it will differentiate itself more as I unlock more skills. Archmage is probably the most "fun" with the random offense vs defense nature. Never know what you'll be able to do with it on any given turn. Warrior Priest is the most practical, respectable damage and survivability (although squishier than you would think for a guy who looks like that and carries a big hammer), but the potential of powerful party wide buffs makes him a valuable party member. For my first play through I'm doing Adventurer difficulty and running all 7 to see how I feel. Plan on going straight up hardcore for future play throughs and will specialize based on how I finish out this run feeling.
Jeez just started playing on hardcore mode and played three missions, its a totally different game, knowing that if my guys die that's it there dead, is giving a whole new level of tension to each and every encounter. To the point of thinking should I pile up behind the door and skip a turn to be ready for the next room BUT what happens if I roll a one and get another encounter? I'm glad I started on the default setting to get to know the game and how it works but hardcore is well worth trying out once your settled in. ^^ @Exact-Psience, I never even thought about taking less people into a dungeon? That's just crazy talk.
I would say Archmage and Troll Slayer are worth it. Archmage has weak melee attacks, but he has awesome defensive and offensive magic, I know that King something defensive magic that applies to whole party helped me a lot at some turns. Can't list all spells as he is currently only at level 3. Dwarf Trollslayer is a beast, but even more glass cannon that marauder.Again can't comment on all abilities as he is also at level 3 , but he sure can pack a punch, even more with strength potions, with that boost he alone can get rid of huge trolls in 1 turn at higher level probably. Debating If I should switch Marauder with Dwarf Ironbreaker , his high tendency to wield weapon like crazy around and go postal is really hurting my party in critical situations, not to mention I can't attack with him that turn he goes crazy.
I'd be hard-pressed to recall many narrative entries in this game that haven't had at least one issue with spelling, grammar, continuity errors or unintentionally hilarious mistakes. The situation is only made worse by the generated nature of the random white quest text, which tends to leave wayward punctuation marks and unnecessary capital letters strewn about. Skaven can be a pain with their numbers, versatile classes and suspiciously high reinforcement rate. As for rare items, my best one at the moment is a Lightning Fire Ring, which does 5-30 damage to an enemy once per dungeon; it's not amazing, but it came in handy more than once during the early levels. ^_^ I had this happen in my most recent orc-and-goblin dungeon, actually. I had six encounters pop up before I was able to move to the next dungeon section; every time I cleared the room and got ready to move on, another bunch of ruffians or critters would spawn.
If you are leveled enough, and well-equipped i guess, i bet i can plow through the first level maps with just a solo or duo party. Them getting all the kills should net a ton of xp... Plus, it makes it feel more like a dungeon crawler RPG than a strategy game
ok some questions before i die. whats the lvl cap? is there a skill tree? is there an end to the game? what does the iap add to the game? never played warhammer quest board game so what makes this so much better then hunters 2?
Yes I've heard it's lvl6 No you get skills automatically by levelling up There's an end to the main quests but you can replay them and then there's the randomly generated quests which I presume never end. The iap for the skaven doubles the size of the game adding in new enemy's, map locations and dungeon tiles. Then there's the extra player characters which obviously add different characters to plays as each with new skills and weapons etc. Better than hunters 2 as it looks like a lot of love has been put into this, hunters was a very good game but this just seems like a whole new level of class and polish.
Thank guys! Yes, the Arch Mage has me the most tempted - I'm a sucker for range characters, and I'm the person who has to play a mage in every. single. game. I like my Wizard, but I'm not yet used to using his abilities, so sometimes I end up forgetting what he can do. Now that he's at level 2, there's more than just Shadow Daggers. Soo we'll see. It probably depends on my impulse control.. if they were the "typical" .99 cent additional characters - I feel like many/most of the games I've played that have optional characters go for around that - but it's much easier to grab something cheaper. I know it's still not much at all, just trying to make my iTunes gift card go as far as I can. Oh, one last thing - has anyone else had trouble getting their archer to level up? I love her, and she attacks reliably, but is the only one of my four still at level 1 because she hasn't killed enough (just weakened things). I'm focusing on trying to get her in priority when attacking anything, so hopefully by the end of this dungeon she'll be ready for level 2. Also, when I saw her dodge animation at work I might have "oh, cool!" and bounced around in my seat a little. Because it was awesome. One of those small details that makes a game more fun.
