This was clearly an iPhone-based novelty feature (and is actually acceptable on those devices), but not only has it not paid off with tablets, it is actively turning people away. That'd be because it's not actually fully 3D. The magic system is actually quite powerful when you understand its idiosyncrasies, and as for the ambushes and events on a WoM roll of zero, those can happen whether you have a mage in the party or not.
No, none, only about four decades of designing rulesets, no testing at all If you don't like the game system, fine, but expecting a classic miniatures based board game from the biggest table top gaming company in the world to conform to what is clearly a very casual gamer aimed set of expectations about the mechanics just shows ignorance on your part. I think the rotate for inventory is freaking brilliant, but that's obviously a subjective call. The rest? Again, way to show your ignorance about the background of the game. Notably, the game is NOT in full 3D. They rendered the models in 3D, yes, but the game is using a modified Hunters 2 engine, not 3D at all. You've got 3D models being displayed on a strictly 2D map. It simply cannot have other camera angles.
It's not full 3D, that's why. The characters and enemies are, but environments aren't. D'aw. Ninja'd by C.Hannum. This happens even when your mage isn't in the party, there's no escaping from the possibility that something negative will happen, that's just one of the natural dangers of being a hero in a dungeon. The reason for having a mage is because he has powerful spells as well as weak ones. Get a good roll and you'll obliterate the enemy.
In Hunters 2, you could see how many action points you had. Am I able to see that here? Like how many melee attacks I can do or how many times I can move? Oh and my elf only can shoot one arrow a turn. Is that just the board game rules or can I buy more arrows or something?
You can see the number of attacks your character can perform. Level up your Elf, he'll be able to shoot more than once each turn. Also, take note that you can shoot targets from afar, and STILL attack an adjacent enemy in the same turn.
If I'm understanding correctly, you can move as many times as you like within the maximum distance from your starting position, but as soon as you choose to attack, you lock your position in place. The icons next to your character in the bottom left corner show how many attacks you have (bow icon for ranged, sword(?) for melee) and you'll notice that your elf gets one ranged and one melee attack per turn, so it's wise to position it next to an enemy to make use of both. I don't know if or how number of attacks raises, but I'd assume it's related to your level.
Level up and train your characters to get more attacks per round, or find weapons with +X attack bonuses.
i dont know if i'm right about this so anyone feel free to point me in the right direction but looks like you can't change your party members as much as you want because your previous hero will retire and you can no longer use it instead you will have to start with a new one at lest this is what it shows in the guild with my characters that are level 2 or higher So you need to think well what party members to use Or am i missing something and that is just to just start over with a new hero and you can change them before a dungeon? i think that is the toughness when you open the inventory at the top you have 3 buttons press the 1 one to the left and it shows all the stats of your heroes
WTF is this rediculous rotate inventory rubbish! I'm playing on an iPad, I'm not holding it. At least give us a button so we can choose. What an astonishing decision.
Maybe it's because I'm playing on iPhone but I really like the turn to access inventory feature. It's unobtrusive and nicely utilizes the capabilities of a mobile platform
I agree and not to hijack your thread but i dont see how to post otherwise. Just noticed that on casual your guys dont even crawl out of the dongeon when killed they just get up on the next turn and fight on. Totally makes it a walkthrough. Does the middle setting actually kill guys off (not permanently) and you lose your level points?
Yeah when they die they are gone for that dungeon and don't get xp. Hardcore they die permanently. The casual mode further illustrates that the purchasable coins aren't needed
i tried it on ipad and iphone now and the funny thing is that the text IS definitely too small for the iphone screen (my eyes are ok)but the rotating inventory is great and while the text is good on the ipad screen...the invent rotation sucks Anyway, great game and nothing that cannot been fixed by a small update.
You're missing something. The guild is strictly for out and out replacing members, it has nothing to do with the load out phase before a dungeon. I've been swapping people all the time (down side of trying to play all 7 heroes is I am way underleveled for the red quests I have). I haven't quite figured out what the point of the Adventurer's Guild is, but maybe it will become clearer once I'm further into the game. For now, it just seems like I'd be better off starting another save slot and experiencing the process for everyone from ground zero if I reached a point of being too uber to have any fun.
Do you still take damage when you block an attack? If so, it could be my character dying that's causing the constant crashes.
