I'm loving the randomness of the events, really captures the boardgame/card game feeling of playing with dice based random events, For example I was ambushed twice in the same corridor and then a random event that spawned more enemy's, I was like "wtf this is great" Goblins everywhere and I love it. Just about to try out the skaven iap now as I haven't tried it yet, (wow auto correct just changed skaven to shaven that could have been funny) Well £12 all in for this as a whole package seems like a bargain, I don't even look at it as £2.99, I just choose to see it as £12 for the game with every thing in it. Bring on more content ill buy it all
As I posted earlier... Each round, your spellcasters will roll for "Winds of Magic", which is the number of magic points they can use on spells. If you roll a zero, you'll end up with a random dungeon encounter or monster ambush. To cast a spell, you need the required WoM points, and you need to be standing where you can use the selected spell. If you want to cast Healing Mist, for example, you need five WoM points and can cast at range, whereas if you use Shadow Daggers you only need two points (so you can cast three times if you have six points), and you need to be standing right next to an enemy. Thus, if you only roll a two for WoM, your wizard might not be able to do or cast anything if they are badly positioned or blocked.
That was already posted and, well, not really a review but an essay on how conceited the author is and proud of their INTENSE ignorance. All I got from that "review" is that the author doesn't know jack about old school PnP gaming. Nor does the author feel they need to be right to claim they're right (e.g. ALL of those rules they claim aren't explained anywhere are explained in the journal).
Okay I'll ask one last time, I promise: So my warriors have either blocked, countered, or blocked then countered. Seems random. How does this work? (And I don't think it was after a Deathblow attack)
Every turn he usually gets spell points recharged with the winds of magic or winds of something ha ha. I use spell attacks all the time, they're pawsome. You know if you touch and hold on any tab it brings up its info. Plus the journal updates as you play. Oh the spell dagger ( the spark one) you have to be adjacent to the enemy. The journal is your friend Ok back to playing Appletini beat me to it lol
I'm sure it does, but like I said a few pages back I'm disabled and my ipad2 is on a stand, I'd have to take it off each time to rotate it and that's really not possible atm. I'm not knocking the game, it looks great but personally I'll hold off to see if the inventory gets changed.
Yes let's hope the developers change this ASAP and you can have a proper go at it. It seems it would be easy to add an inventory button.
Have you tried using Assistive Touch? It is found in the Settings App: Then select the General Tab. Then the Accessibility Tab on the right. Then turn on Assistive Touch. When you click the circle in a square that appears, click on Device, then Rotate Screen. That should be what you see in the photo. That will let you rotate your screen without physically rotating your iPad. Disclaimer: No idea if it works with Warhammer Quest as I do not have that game as I don't have that much space currently...
Just re-read the description of the extra IAP characters and there sounding much more reasonable now, for example it says the dwarf guy comes with a new location. Some come with new exclusive loot items. Looks like I'm grabbing them too then. On a small note I'm loving the little details like how my marauder has a sword and bow equipped and when he fires his bow he puts his sword down on the ground first, then picks it up again. Little touches like that are very cool. Can't believe this game is as good as I've been expecting, well worth the wait.
That does work but your still left with your screen in landscape but showing your inventory as if your in portrait, so everything is sideways. Nice find though.
Loving this game so far. However, I don't understand how the wizard works, at all. Seems like no matter what I roll, his spells are grayed out. Or is this a bug?
Just an update to say that I made it past the first mission after the town (rescuing the merchant) and no crashes on my 3GS during or after the dungeon. Sorry for the troubles you are having on your iPod Touch 4G.
In case this hasn't been answered (I looked but I just read, like, 15 pages of this thread in one sitting so I'd be caught up ) I'm playing on an iPad Mini and the graphics/looks are great, and the text is fine. You couldn't read it if you were a few feet away, but for a device in your lap/hands/desk, you're fine. I can see how it'd get really tiny for smaller devices, though. My head is so full of information (in a good way!) from reading so many pages at once, I've seen a few users offer good tactical advice (especially for movement/entering areas), which is awesome & I'm grateful for. I didn't get to play much as it came out late in my area and there's only so much playing I can do from 11PM until I realize that I can't pull an all-nighter and do need sleep to, you know, function. Looking forward to playing more, even just spending 10-15 minutes with this game is enough to make me love it. Pardon me, now I need to stop posting and go play. ETA: One last thing that Exact-Psience reminded me of: I know there were a lot of misses going on in the TA Plays video, and have heard more about it since. Is it awful, or just annoying? And does it get better as you level/have more power to be accurate?
