Hey I really liked the game after the .99 sale and was impressed so dropped way too much money on the extra content. Anyway Im having a problem with the Undead content. The Necromancer Vampires cast some insane spell that makes my characters...evaporate. Do they come back? Am I screwed? This is rather bizarre because I have a modest understanding of the Warhammer Lore and Mechanics and still find myself confused.
If I understand your issue correctly, the necromancer can send your characters to a void for one turn. Next turn they should reappear, however if you kill the necromancer whilst you have characters in the void, they will remain trapped and not return back to the game. Hope this answers your question
Sorry to hear you had problems with it. I've had the complete opposite experience with the game. I think it's only crashed a couple of times in all the time I played it. What device and OS where you trying to play it on?
Well that explains my issue and forces me to restart my game. While I enjoy the game it has a few terrible "features" for sure
When you first encounter an enemy or a spell (or when one of your characters learns a new spell/ability) there's a pop-up to say that info has been added to the guide - read it, it will tell you what the spell/ability does.
I think it's just an oddity of the system. Any characters in the void, even there because of a friendly spell, are considered "out of the game" so if combat ends before they return, they stay gone. It weird.
No it is the way the spell works. It is called the Crystal Maze and can apparently last several turns, but I have only seen it work for one turn (as I usually take out the Necromancer on the first turn- if I can). Definitely not a bug, and as suggested it is worth checking the journal entries to understand the powers of the various characters in the game.
I've only seen it ever last 1 turn as well, but yeah, that is the way it is supposed to work. It is easy enough to avoid, you simply don't kill the caster on when your hero is out of the game.
If I was to get only one additional hero, and one extra content IAP, which two would you recommend and why?
So I recently decided to give this game a whirl again after some months of inactivity. Party is level 3, and my marauder picked up a hammer of sigmar in some random dungeon? Is this normal? It's stats easily classifies it as one of the best weapons in the game. I am hitting for over 20 damage consistently and critting for 66-69 damage. That's enough to take down Orc bosses and trolls with ease!
I need help, here. This is one of the biggest game threads I've seen on TA, and after spending over an hour trying to get more info about the IAPs, I'm not THAT much further ahead then I was. Could someone point out which page has the detailed breakdown of all IAP? The character classes are obvious, but the two expansions ($4.99 ones) and others are what's confusing me. Thanks guys!
The Skaven one adds more mission from levels 2-6 and more enemies. Brutal Tribes adds content for levels 6-8, more loot at said levels. Hope that helps.
Don't buy the IAP weapons, they aren't worth it, I think you can find equally good stuff in the game. The two "Region & Enemy Packs" add new regions to the game each with new main quest chains, they are like expansion packs. The Hidden Threat is level 2+ and the other one is 6+. I'd recommend buying The Hidden Threat at the start so you can complete the levels when your party is at the right levels, if you leave it until your party is at high levels it won't be at all challenging. The other expansion can be left until your party is at higher levels for you to decide whether you think it's worth buying or not. The two enemy packs each add different types of enemy, so instead of a level/dungeon having eg skaven it will have necromancers. The tileset adds different environments for the dungeons. I think all three of these "Dungeon Pack" IAP are worth it, they make the game a lot more varied. As for the characters, I have them all except the Orge Irongut (I didn't get that one because it seemed boring and not very good - he only ever gets one attack). Here are my opinions but bear in mind there are lots of possible abilities/spells that characters can get on level up, so I won't have seen them all, and your characters could turn out different to mine. - The Witch Hunter is amazing when facing undead (so very good in conjunction with the two IAP that add undead). He is good vs non-undead too. - The Shadow Warrior is similar to the Waywatcher but slightly better. He's very good at not dying. - The Trollslayer is probably the most boring IMO, he just hits things. But he hits things quite hard. - Each turn the Archmage randomly can cast defensive or offensive magic, meaning he's not very reliable. But I like mine, he has good defensive and good offensive skills, you just can't count on being able to cast any particular one at any one time. - the Warrior Priest can cast a blessing on all your warrior each turn, but it is not guaranteed to work. He's better at hitting things than the other magic users. - the Bright Wizard casts spells at things. He can also get healing magic, which is very useful.
Thanks guys! Question is... Do I get all three tile sets (and undead monsters) for a total of $9 or the skaven expansion for $5?
Once you buy one part you will want them all. I would recommend both, but the shaven expansion offers more levels, so maybe get this first as you get new enemies too. I have all level expansions, undead and 2 heroes and couldn't be happier....
Hehe, yeah. Getting all the IAP in this game is quite expensive; I don't think I'll end up needing THAT much content unless I go through multiple playthroughs. If I do play it again, I'll grab the 3 extra tilesets/enemies. For now I will follow your advice and get the Skaven expansion. Thanks for the response
Skaven aren't that fun. I'd look into getting the other expansion for higher levels, and the undead pack to spice things up. If you still are looking for content, then you can go with Skaven. The great thing about Skaven is there is a really great quest you can grind to get over 1000 gold each time, and it's very short. But besides that I didn't think it added all that much. That said, I didn't regret the purchase, and it adds a lot of variety when you're at the lower levels.
Hrm, now I'm torn. I guess I'm just looking to get the most bang for my buck for around $10 in IAPs. I've already purchased the witch hunter for $3, so now it's just trying to decide what to get next. The new $5 expansion for level 6+ sounds like a good way to expand the game, so I might just get that. Maybe that and one of the tilesets, or skeleton packs. I have to admit, it is tempting to just go crazy and buy them all, but I'm really not sure how many more hours I'll spend playing the game; I'm still in the early phases.
If you've already got the Witch Hunter, I'd advise getting the enemy packs with undead in, he's amazing against undead. If you are worried about wasting money, don't get the 6+ expansion until you have a party at that level - just in case you stop playing before then. I like the Skaven expansion, I like having more main storyline type quests to do. As to how long you will play the game - I recently restarted playing because I saw the new characters and expansion. I looked at my previous save from months ago and saw that it said about 30 for time played. I thought "oh, I thought I had played it for longer than 1/2 an hour", then started playing again and soon realised it meant 30 hours not 30 minutes... I have bought all the IAP (except the weapons) and this is still one of the better value iOS games I have, in terms of cost per time played.
