I really like the bright wizard. Very good offensive spells. Comes with fireball that only costs 4pts that does very nice damage and a 5pt AOE spell. I also am enjoying the Shadow Warrior. Like that he can do range attacks and then move in for melee.

The witch hunter almost requires me to also buy the undead enemy packs to make him more useful I think. Wonder if you know going into a white dungeon that it will feature undead so I can put him in the party.

Nah, witch hunter is a machine even against the living. Much more tactile than the shadow warrioe with incidental range too... BOOM!

This. Witch Hunter is decent against everything, and becomes OP when facing undead.

Do you know going into a dungeon that there will be undead or is it random additions to the existing white dungeons?

For the lava i ran one warrior ahead and used Sigmar's Rally to bring him back, but then i don't use a Wizard (Priest 2 dwarves and Marauder, which seems the most powerful least balanced combo to me)

Read back a few pages and you will see some good answers to this question since I just started and have been asking the same thing. The hidden threat new content is optional but helps mix it up when playingt he first 6 levels. Especially if you buy extra warriors and plan to level them all. Brutal tribe is for 6 and up so if you gets to that level and want to keep going then buy it. New warriors are fun but not required. I am enjoying trying out different warriors. I would not buy gold or weapons as finding new stuff and earning gold is a key part of the the game so why take away from that enjoyment.

Generally yes, having the undead packs adds undead random white quests and you will see them on the map screen. In addition, undead, one owned, do appear randomly in ambushes during quests against other creature types.

That sounds great. I can form my party based on who I'm likely to run up against. Sigh... this game is getting expensive... I tend to think they would have made a lot more money charging less and/or offering bundles for those who want it all.

I haven't seen this. For me the undead and vampires just sort of show up randomly, like any other encounter.

I wonder if you need the new tile set to have the additional white dungeons show up.

Hm, I can't say for certain since I bought everything in one go when it was released. However, I do see random quests specifically with undead just like every other creature type and the undead are not always on the castle tileset, and at times other races other than undead ARE on the castle tileset, so it doesn't seem inherently linked to the undead, at least not 100% of the time.

When starting the white quests there is a hint of what enemy types you will face generally.

Right. Looking at it on my iPad now. In the Stirland the quests all say "Orcs and Goblins". In Reikland some say "Skaven". Assume adding undead will give that kind of information on the white quests.

Exactly. The starting region is split between Orcs and Goblins, and Critters, the Skaven zone has both those plus Skaven. The undead expansions add (or should add anyways) Undead quests to all regions to appear randomly like other white quests.

I bought one of the undead packs and the witch hunter. Thanks to Brrobotix for the recommendation (now stop before my iTunes balance is 0!) - he is fun and crushes undead! I have not seen any areas described as having undead yet. They have shown up but the area was not named for them. Suspect buying the tiles is needed for pure undead dungeons. Will try a few more areas to be sure and then another 2.99 goes bye bye :). I like the variety in tiles anyway but starting to feel a bit gouged.

Cool stuff!! What's Sigmar's Rally? Does it just re-unite the party? That would be pretty useful in all sorts of situations, as most of the time when I died, it was because no party member was near a downed character - all my fighters have one small healing potion for that purpose only - to prevent a death in an emergency.

For me almost any combo with Grey Wizard and Marauder works. The Wizard with Night Blade makes a huge difference when your party doles out lots of damage. Plus he keeps healing everyone.

Is there some sort of compendium of all spells etc? I know there was one for the original classes somewhere, and it was very helpful in creating a kick-ass Grey Wizard.

    @IAP characters to get:

Witch Hunter, Priest, and Shadow Warrior seem to be worth it.

    Anything else?

The Shadow Warrior is not really that good at all by himself but he gets very nice items that make him good: A +1 ranged attack bow that does more damage; and arrows that stun opponents for one round which is super useful.

The items make him better than the Wayfarer - he's better in close combat. The Wayfarer seems forever stuck with lots of weak ranged attacks - mine had 6 at the end - that miss rather often. Wayfarer also gets no items. There is no super bow for him, not that I've ever seen it anyway which is very weird. Mine still had to make do with a masterwork elven bow at level 8.

Witch Hunter seems awesome from the get-go at level 1 and has good items too. Priest of course has great items and way better casting ability since the upgrade so he's a force to be reckoned with.
