Anyone else ever have long-dead characters just show up in their party? I just finished the first Underwriter quest in Averheim and kept the Talisman of Power. When I went into the party screen to equip it, I noticed I suddenly had a new Warrior Priest (at level 1). The old one died ages ago, and I never replaced him. Is this a bug?
Boy I suck at this game. I've hit a wall. Missing everything and the enemy is rolling on me. I feel I've got a good strat but not the skill points. Ps this game also drains my iPhone 5 battery like crazy.
Be careful with the red dungeon early on, they are pre-set to a certain level. It's better to stick with white dungeons that auto-scale to your heroes level to level and gear-up. I also find that Critter or Undead quests at the lower levels seem to be easier than Orcs or Skaven.
For some reason the first red ones have seemed easier for me. Still no matter what, 1 or two of my guys die every time at the end of a dungeon. Some things nearly one shot my guys. Am I missing something? Edit..and it seems my guys miss over 50%
Some of the Red Dungeons will be easier, as they have set levels. But if you challenge a level 2 Red Dungeon with a level 1 party, you are in for a hard time. White Dungeons on the other hand scale to the heroes that are sent in. Early on, the one creature I know does a lot of damage is the Gigantic Spiders. The only advice I can really give is that monsters will generally attack the last hero that attacked them, and you can usually see who they will attack by who they are facing. Therefore, when you get the hang of agro-management, you can usually ensure your healers at the least stay alive. Also, I usually save healing items to revive fallen heroes, don't use them up healing heroes that are still alive. You get more bang for your buck bring back a fallen hero than giving a living on another 1-6 health that will be largely ignored if a Gigantic Spider does 30+ damage in one attack. Early on, your guys will also miss a lot. This steadily improves with levels, but also later you can purchase/find a selection of items that increase your chance to hit.
Just bought it after the price drop. I've noticed there's a ton of IAP content. Which packs are the best bang for my buck? Should I invest in any of the extra characters early on?
Thanks again kirenx. I am doing much better. I also switched back to the wizard so I am running maurader, archer, warrior priest (iap) and wizard. I like the healing ring from the warrior priest. These names are probably wrong, sorry
The campaigns are the best buys. The extra characters can bring some new tricks to dish out and heal up damage, but they arent as necessary as getting the extra campaigns since the initial party can pretty much deal with anything and everything thrown at you.
I love this game, every time I miss I have to resist the urge to throw my iPod at the wall, but how do I get to my inventory? I can't seem to please help its a real killer
Loving this game. I have def turned it around. Doing much better and I love the narration. I've noticed I'm missing some sounds when I attack orcs.
Turns out the 16th time was the charm. Thanks for the responses. The game is very difficult for an iOS game. I get that it's based on a board game, but it's very grindey, which is only bad after rolling winds of magic 0 for the sixth time while trying to get out of a room. I think you absolutely need to re-roll on levelling up to get good skills and dice rolls. I can't imagine playing without the grey wizards blade of night, mindrazor, and voidmaster for massive healing. I also levelled up my marauder too quickly which made all the side quests brutal with enemies with massive hp and three weaker heroes. The marauder was the only one who could finish off the high level enemies which made getting kills/experience to level up the other heroes even more difficult.
You learn as you play more. I've had plenty of saves in which I've gone through the whole game without having spells like Blade of Night or Mindrazors. You tend to learn other spell/item/skill combos that work just as well, simply differently. Id agree that you want to keep all party members at a similar level though. Having that one hero a level or two higher can make white dungeons extremely aggravating at times.
Has anyone here tried using the Lifestones (the ones that swap/average max wounds)? I'm wondering if those effects are temporary or permanent.
Getting a bit deeper into the game now, and I've just leveled up for the first time, someone mentioned that you can reroll skills, does this mean the skills you get on leveling up are randomized? If so, how big is the pool of skills? Also, can someone humor me and list what each skill trait does? And how does the wizard's magic winds pool work? There are a lot of mechanics going on in the background here, I just wish they'd explain them a bit better. Last question- what do you get for the expansions vs. buying enemy and tile packs? Do they all offer different content?
