May Sigmar guide your steps Or the Aliens God. Well deserved guys, congratulations and thanks for the awesome game and continued support. To me it has been like a dream come true. Sometimes I can't still believe I've the Warhammer Quest experience in my pocket. Looking forward Rodeo's next.
Witchhunter is gimmicky to me. Close to shadowwarrior damage output. But the jam hurts him a fair bit Marauder ironbreaker grey wizard shadowwarrior still dominates due to gear. Brutal tribes is better than skarven expansion if you can buy only one Brutal tribes quest reward: talisman of power makes grey wizard with blade of night is probably the best support character. If they release more expansions thru IAP I would buy. But atm seems they will stop working on any expansions?
Yeah, really loved this game, still playing even! If they are quitting WQ to move on to new projects though, I really wish they'd at least have one last release to give some kind of end game. Doesn't even need to be big, one last repeatable dungeon with the hardest content in the game. Currently, the Palace of Ice just seems to pale as the last dungeon when you have a party of level 8s. Of course, if we were going to get one more bigger expansion, it seems odd that we don't have Beastmen, both one of the most common monsters in the games region lore-wise, and they had units in the original game in the form of Minotaurs. Would really complete the region theme-wise. Of course other races like Lizardmen and Dark Elves are neat, but they don't have the story presence in the Empire that Beastmen, Orcs, and Undead have.
How do I best go about keeping more than four characters active? Are entirely separate parties to recommend, or am I better of babysitting one rookie at the time in a party of seasoned adventurers? In conjunction, do quests scale in challenge to levels of any kind, or are they tied to region/the village around which they pop up?
I play all 11 characters and usually just make my party with the 4 lowest EXP characters at the moment, ensuring they all level up at around the same time. The other alternative is to forgo leveling any one character until all your characters are ready to level. White quests scale with the levels of the characters that do them. Red and black quests have a set level, but the ambushes scale to the participating characters levels.
As the to my knowledge only iOS developer (possibly the only game developer) with a Warhammer Quest license, have you ever considered doing an asynchronous online multiplayer variety of the game? As fun as the single player experience is, doing all of this with a party of three pals, each controlling one character each (essentially replicating the board game experience in an online format), would probably be one of the more engaging, engrossing, addictive gaming experiences on any platform. Seems to me I can either babysit, or run low level parties parties (of which I prefer the latter, just like you). Thanks! (Why work hard to ensure all character level up at the same time, or even forgo levelling until all are ready to level, though? Are there penalties for characters of different levels, or do quests actually scale to the highest level in the party, etc?)
Quests seems to scale to the highest level character in a party. More to the point, certain enemies appear to "unlock" when a character at a certain level is present. This can mean the difference between farming item quests and at worst facing off against a River Troll or having a guy with that one more level which causes Black Orcs to spawn.
Looks like WQ is getting even more well-deserved love in the form of awards: http://boardgamegeek.com/blogpost/26710/best-of-2013-awards-genres-part-2
Update: Going to install this again and give it another shot after not really liking it the first time. Stay on the edge of your seats for another update later folks! Results: Yes, the game just isnt for me. Clicking each guy to move and plodding throught the dungeons/combat just isnt my style. I just cant enjoy Srpgs, wich is a shame. Oh well.
Leveled all to max found the Ogre useless, maybe there is something I am missing but with one attack just don't get it. My iron breaker has more toughness, marauder more attacks. So far my most fun is marauder, shadow warrior, bright wizard, and witch hunter or trollslayer. Which hunter is fun but has bugs, some of the earlier quest in Stirland bug him out such as no weapons and inability to move. Archmage back and forth defensive magic and offensive gets a bit irritating. My grey wizard is the healer, small heals medium heals, full heals and rez. He is best for backup tough fights. IronBreaker is my ultimate stone. Nothing but magic takes him down. Warrior Priest is great if you get the 2 hander with extra attacks. Love the game. Have noticed more crashes maybe with all the extras more memory demands?
Anyone know how many spells the Grey Wizard get at Level 8 ? Because i'm already at level 4 and still no sign of Okkam's Mindrazor. The skill sheet shows that i only have 2 more spell slots to go (level 5-6). So at level 7, i wont receive any spells ?
The Ogre REALLY needs to get at least Headcrusher to shine. It allows his one attack to have a chance for huge damage. The other ability that really boosts the Ogre's efficiency is Brawl, which hits all adjacent enemies. If you get both attacks, combined with Mighty Swing, you can use each one once a turn when the Ogre has any effect on him that increases the amount of attacks he gets. That can translate into a lot of damage. In addition, depending on which gear you go with, the Ogre can have enough defense to ignore a lot of attacks. Versus monsters with high health/difficult to hit, this can be used quite effectively to draw most of a rooms agro and allow other heroes to pick off key targets one by one. Ultimately, the Ogre isn't as straight forward as many of the other heroes, but he's not bad at what he does, and with the right skills can match or exceed many other melee fighters damage output. However, his current loot table is the biggest crippling factor as his high level weapon choices simply are not all that great in comparison to other units.
Casters all get one spell every level. They are not like other heroes that occasionally get no skills for a certain level. However, you are never guaranteed a certain spell. If you really want a specific spell or ability, you can level up, and then immediately close the game and restart to be able to have a new chance, although I found this takes a lot of the fun and challenge out of the game.
My Grey Wizard mostly get healing and utility spells (Blade of night, Heartbeat, Teleport, Veil of Revival). I want some offensive spells because right now he is downright useless in attacking enemies.
If you get Chalice of Battle and a decent sword, with teleport and blade of night the Grey Wizard can be a beast of a melee fighter.
Yeah, looking at App Store a black quest "Lair of the Orc Lord" is added with some bug and stability fixes I really look forward for more expansion, maybe the final one would be new area with overarching storyline from 1 city to the next with nice climax/ending ? Of course with level cap of 10 and new loot.
