As a rule of thumb, I don't think much of anything regarding pricing on these forums is a reliable indicator of anything remotely applicable to the general audience.

Want to know how your game plays? TA is the place for you.
Want to know if your game has any major flaws or balance issues? TA is the place for you.
Want ideas for future updates/expansions/sequels? TA is the place for you.
Want to know how well you've monetized your title? Your dog will give you a better indication than this forum collectively. Free is never free enough and premium is never premium enough :D

Selling WHQ as a piecemeal upgrade system where every area costs as much as the base game and each character costs 60% as much as the base game was guaranteed to be continually complained over even if it had been the best selling iOS title of all time and if the hours of entertainment per dollar spent set new world records for value in electronic gaming.

I'm more than happy with the pricing of this game and I like the small priced updates that keep the game content coming and if that all adds up to the price of a full price retail game then so be it but IMO there's way more content here than in a console game these days and pound for pound I'd rather play this than call of duty whatever or a new halo etc.

The day spending a few dollars for quality content bothers me, is the day I stop buying games at all and start looking for a better job as my priorities will have obviously gone off the tracks. But much like C.Hannum said, you'll always find people complaining about costs, lowering or raising prices simply changes the dynamic of those most vocal.

That aside, the new tiles look really nice. I was a bit disappointed with the Brutal Tribe tiles though, as only one or two rooms were actually any different. Hopefully, they have gone a bit farther this time and the couple shown so far won't turn out to be the only ones that really stand out.

So how will these three new packs work when they release this week? If you buy all three is it a new adventure? Ie like with the Skaven pack you had to go Southwest to find the region they were in. Will you have to travel to a new location for the whole experience? Not familiar with this character. Should there really be a whole new character set for this expansion rather than one. Who would you team him up with? Sorry. So many questions but I love this game and welcome the new stuff but want to know how to play it properly. Seriously Space Hulk and Warhammer Quest all in one year? Awesome.

The article I read said that it's not a new set of locations it's adding new white missions, so it's basically just adding a load of new side missions into the mix of ones available from each location.
Which sounds pretty good to me, it'll mix things up a bit.

They said this is likely the last content update. And I hoped for new region with new quests and stuff. Looks like Brutal Tribe and premium weapons DLC was commercial failure.

I'm not exactly sure how people are concluding that this is "likely" the last content update, all it said was this:
In other words, fine, there is nothing WHQ in production after this ships because they have a new project they're working on.

That's the sum total of concrete information about the likelihood. The article writer summed up Murch's words as "may well be" the end. I may well be a super rich heir - that phrase merely means "possible" without bias for or against. Then the only direct quote on the subject from a dev is an explicit statement that people shouldn't rule out future content.

All I take from the article is that they have now fulfilled their contractual obligations with GW and want to move forward on their own property while they have the momentum of WHQ but would be willing to revisit the title in the future if GW wants them to. Since GW loves money and their financial risk with future expansions is effectively $0, odds are probably better than even there will be more content down the road if Rodeo is willing to make it.

Truest thing I've read on the internets all day: GW sure does love that there money.

Generally 'swan song' means the end of something. A small studio, new project coming up that is the focus, seems about right. I'd love WQ to continue getting updates indefinitely, but I think you are far more of an optimist that I. Considering how low it has taken RG to get WQ updates when the game has been their focus, if they do release one more update in the future, I can only imagine how long that would take to get out.

Not sure I'm allowed to speak yet but I think no harm will be done :)

I was able to beta test a bit the Necromancer and the Witch Hunter of the just announced Pocket Tactics RPG of the Year (well deserved)...BEWARE.

Necromancers are DEADLY, they feel like the bosses the game never had...they have a really 'nice' set of features that can really endanger your party in 1 turn...be VERY careful.
They can go down very fast....but really...do not let them cast 2-3 spells or you would be in great troubles (crystal maze plus resurrection are really a nightmare in hardcore).
Didn't experienced Vampires yet...but I expect no less.

This expansion is very different from the previous one (and I really hope it's not the last).
It does to the general white quest gameplay what the previous expansions did for the 'main story arc' red ones.
Adds new monsters that spice things up a lot, giving white quest much more variety, plus a REALLY nice looking (probably the best looking) new tile set.
It change a bit even room form factors to pose some additional challenges too.

On top of that it adds the famous Witch Hunter.

I confess, only one in the world, I wasn't that fond of the character back in the day...but Rodeo implementation made me a believer and for the very first time since the game was out I swapped an original character (the dwarf) in my dream team for a new one (the Witch Hunter).
Not only he is very cool with really nice skills, he is particularly versed in undead slaying...so the expansions really mix well.
I'm sure all the people clamoring for the Witch Hunter since months will be very pleased with him.

Overall I was very pleased with the expansions (didn't try the Vampires), even if at first I was a bit took off guard, being more a 'story type' of gamer.
I felt it was the most 'Games Workshop Warhammer Quest'-esque expansion to date...combining new enemy miniatures, tiles and the famous new playable character.

Having played more than 400 hours now, this expansion gave freshness to the White Quests and general moving around the map in my case.

It goes without saying I can't wait for more and I do hope they will produce new expansions in the future but I must say that if someone told me they would publish 3 new expansion to the core game, one every 2-3 months, I would have signed it with my blood (not an easy feat, especially in the App Store).
On the other hand...I'm thrilled to know which is the new Rodeo game they are working on and I wonder if it's Hunters 3, a new Games Workshop franchise or something completely new....anyway I can't wait to hear more of it.

I thought today was the release day. Not seeing anything yet. 8:15pm west Australian time making it gone midday in the UK. Rodeo are a class act. Whatever new they are working on will be worth the wait.
