You have to use vanish at the beginning of the SWs turn. By that I mean that you can't move him, attack, shoot your bow, then vanish. You have to vanish first, then you get the benefits. Not sure if that's how it's supposed to work, but that's how I've gotten it to, otherwise I get the same outcome you did

Just got a new skill for my Ogre: Ball Up – Skill Description: Ball Up…. Hmm. Also got Mortal’s Bane, 300 damage a strike to Black Orcs. I get the feeling the testing wasn’t as thorough as it perhaps could have been.

I appreciate the response man! Hey how do you use the elements with him? Is it a skill or a weapon type? I havent seen any yet.

The Vanish ability doubles the remaining attacks (ranged and melee) and moves from your previous turn. So if you use it after you move and attack, it doubles the attacks/moves you have remaining, which is why you're getting no results.

Is it once per dungeon? I cant seem to use it more than once even though it doesnt clarify that.

the shadow warrior could do a lot of melee damage with the dragon blade. before vanish, could give him a few blades of night, so the next turn he gets crazy number of attacks.

Now that you mentioned it might have something to do with the DLC characters, it reminds me that I obtained the hammer at very early level. Lv2 archmage actually. I sent him into a vanilla dungeon alone for experience. I'm gonna try it again!

Yeah, on the save I got the Hammer of Sigmar, it was about level 4 or 5 in a random dungeon.

Yeah seems like the crit tables are off for that one. I expected something more along the lines of 80-100, like headsmasher crits, but this is just crazy. It took a lot of the fun out of the game almost immediately

Yup, once per dungeon. There's a little number next to the ability, a very little number.

It fits the description that this blade should never have been forged. LOL

So apparently iCloud updates apps in background too (never opened WHQ with network on on iPad but after browsing the web on a proper network, found the iPhone save in it).

Oh well...I forgot how tense it was playing low level charaters for a change...and they seems to level up really fast with rings and money.
    Such an awesome game!!!
    Still can't stop playing it!

In Averland at low levels, ambushes seem a lot less frequent than at level 8 too.

Speaking of future expansions....I bet the next one will be around Christmas.
Said that, now that I restarted a proper game at level 1 with all 3 expansions installed, I must say the world is already pretty huge.
Can't wait till they add 1-2 more expansions...it will be pretty massive (and a realt threat for people buying the game with everything without previous playing).

Finally got my hands on Mortal's Bane. This evil blade does 300+ damage to anything with a toughness of 6 or higher. Black Orcs' nightmare really.

Christmas would be perfect for a third DLC. The next iPad is probably out by then.

Btw, anybody else has got the Spectral Sanctuary spell for the grey wizard? I found it handy but somewhat rare. I have retrained 4-5 grey wizards to lv7 at least if not 8, since the expansion, but only one of them got it. My bad luck has lead me to believe that the Twilight Translocation spell could be a prerequisite for it. Could it be true?

It's random. I've gotten it before and I never ever take twilight trans

Darn it. Tried hundreds of restarts and just can't get that? Could it be mutually exclusive with some other spell? My guess is cyclone of silence, which i didn't get in the save where i got the sanctuary spell.

it has nothing to do with DLC. I got my hammer of sigmar early in the game and i had never bought a DLC. The first one i came to buy was this new expansion but i already had mine. It's pure luck but unfortunately it's very rare.

Alright I guess it's for the best. I've got a Hammer of Sigmar and the Mortal's Bane in separate games. So I don't have to decide which is the best for the marauder.

Thanks for the replies. I really wanted the hammer for Orki my stunty little dwarf has gotten no love at all so far (doesn't even have rare armor - although he does have a nifty little hat that gives him +20 health!). I'm almost tempted to buy Gotrek's axe for him.
Have to say I'm disappointed in the legendary items, I'm not going to buy something that I don't know the stats for.

I got blood rage at level 2 , first attempt, same as my trollslayer. It's great survival aid as if you hold a heavy damage dealer , you can afford to be a bit reckless, as they can gain back half of the individual damage dealt per hit...
So 6-8 hits at 15-20 damage could net you a 7-10 health boost per hit landed( also gives half the damage dealt , so if you hit an enemy on 1-2 health you still get half the full hit back)

Great with accuracy enhancers, but it is only a one off skill( 1 per dungeon use)

And I updated and decided to start a new runthrough , so a completely new team

    Any help at all?

    @myselfnoone:
Yes, that definitely helps, thanks a lot!
And doesn't look like I have to restart my Marauder for it. He is a tough enough cookie already as is. For a once per dungeon skill I am not leveling up another one. Was hoping this is a passive skill, i.e. always active...

And quetion about the Hammer of Sigmar, and loot in general:
Some folks mentioned they got him at level 5 or so. I never saw one so far.
Is the loot tiered, as in once I hit, say, level 6, I cannot get level 5 loot anymore? Or is the Hammer just so rare that I need to get really lucky to grab it as quest reward?
