I am rapidly beginning to lose my patience with the irongut ogre. At 4th lv (and the marauder is already 6th lv), he is already beginning to feel like dead weight. Being stuck with a single attack that often misses. Being able to deal 7 damage to 3 adjacent foes isn't a big deal when each of them has over 50 hp. My general impression is that he is fairly useful at first lv (when everyone gets just 1 attack anyways) but a lot less powerful at higher lvs. Your experiences? How are you using him in a party and what are your general strategies with him?
Same here. It's a shame since i never used it anyway now that i have iron blood and heartbeat (MOST AWESOME SPELL IN THE GAME!!!!)
My two cents about the new expansion: I had played the game for 40 hours without buying a single IAP. Had no characters and had no skavenger expansion. For those wondering if skavanger expansion is worth it, i don't think it is. Mainly because there is no new gear to farm. Ok you get new monsters, but that and only that. I was reluctant at first to get the new Area, mainly because i don't like what they are doing with the game regarding selling instawin weapons. They have a great game, they have a great pricing model (although a bit pricy on the caracters) and they really don't need to sell gold or weapons what i do think it's sad. Despite that, the new area is almost like a new game and the price is fair enough to pay. Plenty of new loot. I am almost crazy farming new stuff for my now lvl 8 warriors. There is plenty of orange/blue stuff for them and you can't go wrong with it. Dungeons are a pain in the ass, HARDER then EVER before. Events happens more often and its getting harder and harder to beat dungeons. So basically i'm back on farming like a crazy bitch since the release of the game. I'm enjoying it a lot!
I couldn't disagree more with the previous post as I highly recommend buying both expansions and playing the game missions all in order. I have spent 70 hours playing on my main file and I'm not bored of the game yet! The Skaven expansion adds new monsters and tiles which is nice to mix up the gameplay. The second expansion not so much new in tiles but enemies are different and use abilities more along with great loot and some new skills going to level 8. I haven't purchased any characters or IAP weapons but am thinking about trying a character after I re roll mine today. One bit of advice for you guys getting the same skill twice, if you go to town to teach your character and it's a terrible skill or one you already have....or if you barely get a health increase as I believe it can be between 1 and 6 health per level. Don't press anything and just close the Warhammer game down in multitasking and when you reload your character will be waiting to be levelled again to try for a better skill. It's a pain in the ass as it can take multiple attempts to see what you could get then to decide and get that skill....maybe one day we will be able to chose....more skills would always be nice too. Just one big moan here which none of you probably care about but I've always thought of Warhammer having such good stories and text, I don't rember from the previous expansion and main game yet in this brutal tribe expansion has anyone else noticed the sheer amount of spelling errors or the use of a word in the wrong context? I'm far from good at grammar but it really annoys me when the wrong words are used and I'd expect more from these guys.
i know that health increase by 1-6 per level. but what about mana reserve? seems that sometimes the maximum increment is 3
Honestly, I don't have a great impression of the skaven expansion. Enemies had too much hp, though they didn't seem very tough. Dungeons felt overly long, with encounters reloading continuously with new enemies. It just felt very grindy and tedious to wade through everything, especially when the party ended up with more treasure than they had space for. Maybe it's changed in the update? Not sure, but I will be giving it another try (why not? I already paid for it).
I think that there is no fixed die for mana and health increments. Not all characters get a hit die on every level and some only get a d4 on certain levels. The Mana reserve usually grows by a d4.
Heh, I see you've never read the text in the Hunters games either Not sure what Rodeo's problem is, but it is certain that no one there is a copy editor in spirit. Just in my first few dungeons since starting a clean hardcore game with the updated content I have seen the old bug of referring to the tarnished helm as a blade in the quest description, and describing a giant spider lifting a blade to attack (that would be something ) in the final room. To be fair, I'm not sure why GW isn't more on their butts over these lore issues, and since they're basically just text generators, really basic stuff to fix, but having been playing Rodeo's stuff since HE1 launched, I am, unfortunately, in no way surprised by the continued text screw ups.
There's a nice little tip for those that are struggling with the brutal tribe expansion an easy way to get geared up before moving in and tackling the quests
I wonder if there is a way to remove certain iap characters from my game? I would like to at some point restart hardcore with only the characters I plan on using activated in the roster. This should theoretically eliminate mission rewards for characters not on my roster, thereby making missions with rewards for the characters I do use, more plentiful. I threw in the towel after hardcore broke my spirit over the weekend with 3 consecutive lvl 6-7 full party wipes. Perhaps after I finish the expansion on adventurer (I at least want to *see* the content) I'll reinstall the game and start a new hardcore game and only activate the warrior priest and shadow warrior.
Not sure if that would make any difference. When I only had vanilla characters I still found archmage gear.
I seem to get Marauder stuff by the cart load (and all the shops only seem to have Marauder gear). Is this just my bad luck?
Bad luck? No it's Khorne smiling down on you from atop the Skull Throne. Marauder is a butchering angel. If you're not using him, start doing so!
He bought it so I rotated the Ogre into his slot. Much to my dismay. ABE: least he did not become chaos spawn.
I also have an iPhone 4, running whatever is the most up to date version of iOS 7. I have tried closing down all background apps, but the problem has not gone away. If anything, it has gotten worse. My most recent glitch is that even when I reload the game, the game freezes over and over in the exact same place, so I will have to abandon the entire save. I have tried deleting and reinstalling the app. No change. I am actually pretty angry about this. I have never complained about the pricing strategy, because I felt the game was worth it. However, when I spend $25 dollars on an iPhone app, I do expect it to work. At this point I am going to delete this from my phone, and hope they eventually fix this so I can play it.
