Warhammer and Warhammer 40K are two separate ongoing streams for Games Workshop. I'd keep an eye on the upcoming digital Space Hulk and Warhammer 40K games if you're interested in the sci-fi side of things Space Hulk is actually due out on PC in a couple of days, with the iOS version to follow a while after. The other Warhammer 40K game isn't due out until 2014. Ones of my old flatmates had a collection of WH40K armies, but I've never really been won over by that particular universe. I'm more a Firefly kind of girl when it comes to my sci-fi, really, although Space Hulk fits that "Aliens" niche, which I can live with. ^_^
Thanks! I will look out for both of those. I can't believe I didn't know about this IP, it's drawn me in quickly.
Gah, this is so infuriating to play. I can't get through the final red marker without the game crashing, and if it does crash, I can't get back to where I left off - it just takes me to the map. Frustrating bugs.
A WH40K CYOA "Brother marine, we had reports that planet Pee has been tainted by Chaos," proclaims Inquisitor Busibodius. Do you: Nuke the site from orbit? Turn to page 2 Take a squad down to investigate? Turn to page 3 Decline, saying it probably is not tainted? Turn to page 4 Page 2 Kaboom. Planet Pee has been blown up and a trillion souls cry out in anguish opening a rift in the warp, allowing the Chaos gods to invade the Imperium. You have been executed for your treachery. Page 3 Your squad lands on the peaceful looking Planet Pee and become accustomed to their heathern practices. You end up worshipping the Chaos gods and "Kaboom," Planet Pee has been blown up by Inquisitor Busibodius from orbit and a trillion souls cry out in anguish opening a rift in the warp, allowing the Chaos gods to invade the Imperium. Page 4 "What trechery!" exclaims Inquisitor Busibodius who executes you on the spot. "Kaboom," Planet Pee has been blown up by Inquisitor Busibodius from orbit and a trillion souls cry out in anguish opening a rift in the warp, allowing the Chaos gods to invade the Imperium. Page 5 "There is no page 5 Chaos scum," yells Inquisitor Busibodius as he executes you on the spot. "For the Emperor."
Reminds me of a bit in the Black Pyramid gamebook, where in order to open a heavy lead chest you had to solve a tricky puzzle involving the atomic numbers of the elements. If you managed to open the chest, however, you died immediately because it contained highly radioactive fuel cells.
One neat theory is that warhammer actually takes place on an isolated hell planet within the 40K universe, along the same timeline
Hopefully there will also be an update that removes that inane requirement that the entire device be rotated to access inventory. Hopefully.
I love that feature. You don't have a button that maybe works for inventory that you accidentally press all the time. Instead, it's easy access in and out in a flash. Guess it's just a matter of opinion. I just haven't heard of anyone not liking that before. Interesting.
The only stand I've heard of for iPad is either my hand or my knees both of which are pretty easy to manage my inventory from
Sorry, who are all these people accidentally pressing inventory buttons all the time in the 99% of games that use them instead of an unintuitive device-rotation function? The rotation issue is a pretty well-established complaint (for iPad more than iPhone), and at last check the developers actually were planning to implement a simple inventory button specifically because of how user-unfriendly a feature it is on larger devices.
Exactly, while I like the rotate screen feature to access the inventory, I'm also using a 4s to play. My first thought was, "This would be a pain with an iPad."
The Smart Cover was one of the highest profile Apple launches in recent memory. And dozens of companies make iPad stands. If you claim to never have heard of them I don't really believe you.
I was joking, I use this case myself (see pic) but I've never rested my iPad on a surface other than myself so I don't have a problem with turning it. I've heard quite a few people complain about the feature though and to keep everyone happy there probably best to have a button option.
Is it me or Rodeo changed something in Warhammer Quest hardcore mode in some update? Because now it's beyond awesome. I'm finding a ton of unique bosses (each one named and with multiple special objects) after I hit (again) level 5-6 and it's now super tense....some encounters are really memorable. I just (barely) completed a dungeon looking for a shadow staff( the one with the red orb) which I found guarded by an Orc Warchief armed to the teeth with multiple magical rings. I had to use every item in my stash but I survived, and it was incredibly awesome (the road to get there was no cakewalk either). Plus, I'm now finding much more events (not always the same bad bad ones). I even tried a detour in the Riekland...but those poisoned weapons are too deadly for now....so I retired in the Stirland for now. Another cool thing I couldn't appreciate during the beta or in the (way too easy) adventurer mode, is that there is really a lot of randomization in the skill tree when levelling up...so even the same character can be really different each time. Anyway...awesome.
This is too awesome!!! Despite more than 150 hours under the belt, Warhammer Quest never ceases to amaze me. I was white-questing in search for loot with my maxed out hardcore dream team before facing the last red quest and moving to Reikland when I found a fantastic tower shield...never saw it before. It's HUGE, green and nasty looking. It was guarded by a really powerful unique Orc Warboss (forgot the name) and various 'normal' war bosses and shamans. Forged with acid, grants you one extra melee attack at the expenses of no less than 3 point of toughness (which is pretty hard, but I went all in for fast killing in this build). Graphically it is fantastic too. Did I mention it is huge? When the marauder strikes with the long sword, he moves the shield overhead and it covers everything!!!
You are making the wait I have to endure to get this game more bearable. That is awesome! I think I'm going to jump straight into hardcore mode when I get it, since it is the most exciting and entertaining mode due to the real consequences that come with it. It's good to hear that after so much play time it still has things to offer.
If you are familiar with the mechanics, by all means, jump in it straight in hardcore. Adventurer mode it's too easy IMHO, hardcore with last you a lot longer, you will face real consequences (the thrilling of one men down surrounded by enemies is unparalleled) plus you will 'enjoy' the added poison mechanics and experience the differences in skill tree (because you will die at the beginning, do not fear ) Hardcore it's really the way the game it's meant to be played, true to the boardgame.
Basic question regarding hardcore mode- I have only played adventurer. If a character dies, do you lose their gear and equipment as well?
