Actually the worst IAP weapon is the Kingslayer (not Jaimie Lannister), because it has a chance of damaging your own party. But if you don't mind the advantage of having permanent legendary weapons in your stash, go for it and buy the IAP weapons. They won't go to waste, but you will want to replace them sooner or later, as you're right, there are better weapons in the game.
Basic question from long time player Hey friends. I've put 34 hours into the game. Love it. I've only used the basic party and have leveled them up. I'd like to add some of the new characters but not start over. Is there a feasible way to add one at a time into an experienced party and have them survive the dungeons or are they just too underpowered? Thanks!
I put in 13 hours then bought all IAP characters and have started playing some areas of the new to me expansion with the new party. It's cool how seamless it is to vary characters without erasing progress. I wish the vampire tileset had been more intentionally implemented as structured quests instead of randomly showing up as a backdrop.
Oh man. Great obvious idea. I take it the game will scale down if you go in with four new characters regardless of your progress? Anyone have a recommended new starting four IAP characters? Any thoughts on starting with the new characters an purchasing the IAP weapons to accelerate progress and make the new game feel a bit differently or are the weapons too overpowered? Thanks!
I'm sure that works but it's really not worth the money; the game isn't hard. Anyways, you could always just reset the higher-level characters progress but keep their equipment or pass equipment down to the new characters.
Yeah it's not really too hard, unless you want to try hardcore mode where a death of a character can be permanent for that save file. I finished the game and all the packs and going through it again for the second time. The expansion and tile sets are definitely worth the purchase, especially for 99 cents each and all those 5 IAPs expand the game nicely. The game is really fun, I would say starting a new file over with brand new characters is definitely worth the second or third time around, it's all new fun with different abilities. I ended up getting everything except for weapons...seems more like cheating than anything? Idk...anyways starting the game over with the witch hunter, warrior priest, shadow warrior, and bright wizard and I'm highly enjoying the game with a new set of characters...and the new tile sets which I didn't have before
I don't think enemy/quest difficukty scales to suit your party strength but is usually pre-determined/unvariable... but you could alsays replay sidequests in the initial lower level areas with your new characters; or vary new/old party composition to your style.
Hardcore doesn't change much but it's basically broken thanks to the cave troll glitch and a few other crash glitches. *...and just to cast my official vote I own all of the IAP minus the legendary weapons.
when does this IAP sale end? Im out of itunes credit and wanna buy some of this stuff so i was going to pick the itunes card up after work, anyone know?
What are these glitches? And should I not play Hardcore because of them? Also, for those interested, the sale is still going on. Not sure for how much longer, though. Is that something they can just flick a switch on themselves and turn back to the normal (insanely high) prices?
The troll glitch is very hard to find info on, I'm guessing that's thanks to no official forum, but it's essentially that the game becomes a crash-laiden mess when fighting enemies with regeneration, namely the cave trolls. The game has trouble calculating mixed damage on them, so if they're taking a DoT like burn and gain HP from their natural regeneration the game crashes. Sometimes the game crashes if everyone from your party isn't in the same room as the troll when fighting it. Sometimes other things happen, it's just odd. Regularly you can just exit the dungeon during combat and be done with the problem; however, on Hardcore you can't so you're stuck with the crash. Sometimes you can power through them, just keep replaying the turn over and over and over trying different things, different attacks, different positioning and you'll probably get through. Took me thirty attempts to recover my Hardcore game from one of these, then it happened again two dungeons later... I quit trying to play hardcore. *update has corrected the issue
What do mean by exit the dungeon? Like quitting to the main menu, or literally walking out? And how does that 'fix' the issue? Thanks!
You can quit a dungeon from the menu, on hardcore you can't. Once the game crashes it will keep crashing when you reload and end your turn... so you just quit the dungeon, it takes you back to the world map, the dungeon is removed from the world map and you go on with another quest. None of that works on hardcore, you can't quit a dungeon from the menu during combat and during combat is when the glitch occurs, so your stuck. Game over.
On the 20th March the game was updated with "many bug fixes" according to the description (v1.25). Haven't all these issues been addressed in that update? As far as the update goes, it seems it's only a bug fixing update.
I wasn't aware of the update and it's been some time since I played. It would be great if these issues were finally solved, the previous round of updates ignored them if memory serves. *apparantly the issue was actually solved in January. I was way out of the loop; having not played since last year.
I think that was the same update that brought in the new IAP cheats, which add an icon on the screen which some people complain as a distraction. It was for this reason that I avoided this particular update. It does list some bug fixes in the description though, just can't remember which.
See this page on the main TA thread. I'll summarize with this, "When you are in a dungeon, there is a new icon at the top of the screen. If you click it, you get access to 3 big spells that take one token. You get 3 free tokens, and after that can buy more.". That is why I have not download the update. It brought the new icon which has PAY2WIN IAP garbage. don't need that.
Fantastic then. My impression is that the game is no longer going to be updated (unless bad bugs are found or new iOS versions make it stop working) and that's why it's getting all the sales now, quite possibly looking for a second wave of incomes for Rodeo Games: all those people who as me were on the fence or not too interested in the game. Making it free for a week allowed me to try it and see that in fact I liked it quite a bit, but not enough for the expensive IAP's. Now that they've been made 99 cents/each, it was impossible to resist having the full experience for the price of other amazing games (XCom, SW: KOTOR, FTL, and now WHQ)
