Yeah, that's what I just did! Also, nice to see you back on the forums, Appletini. Haven't see you posting for a while.
This forum was a big help to me when deciding which characters to buy... http://videogamegeek.com/thread/988157/list-of-skills
Heh, thanks. Mm, I've been exceedingly busy over the past few months, and in that time have been back and forth between more countries than most people see in their lifetime. Have always loved to travel, though, and my role means I actually get to explore places (and the people, and the food), rather than just live an endless succession of plane trips and hotel rooms. Anecdote: Most recently was in Singapore (a place I've been to several times, and highly recommend), where one of the men I was meeting with was trying a little too hard to impress and be accommodating, and kept innocently but repeatedly recommending places on Orchard Road to buy clothes, shoes, and so forth. Others there who'd met me before were trying not to laugh as I eventually had to point out that being female didn't immediately mean I was interested in fashion, and that my tastes shopping-wise lay more in games and tech, which threw him a bit. Have also been absent from TA because I really haven't seen many iOS games released in the past few months that have really grabbed my interest, and have deliberately refrained from commenting on some of the more egregious pants-on-head nonsense that has popped up in various threads. ^_- In response to that lack of interest, I actually finally got around to picking up a PS3, and in my free time have started working my way through the exclusive titles not available for PC. Just finished The Last of Us yesterday, in fact, which I'd gone out of the way not to spoil for myself beforehand. I also grabbed the NDS4ioS emulator for my iPad, and have been playing through the Professor Layton games while on the move.
Doesn't matter ... Singapore prices suck for clothes AND games / tech. Thanks to everyone for the recommendations and the forum link. Wouldn't have known what to pick up otherwise.
Does anyone know how many IAP there are in total? I just want to know how much it would cost if I wanted to have ALL the game.
Thanks for the recommendations, people. Concerning the characters, I also read on other forums that the trollslayer and the temple warrior are both worth getting. What do you guys think? I read that the temple warrior was buffed in the latest update and that now he is considerably better.
All of the expansions and characters are $12 total. I didn't buy the weapons, but there are five of them. So if you were just now buying the base game for $5 plus taking advantage of the sale to buy every piece of DLC, it would run $22.
Are the weapons just super powered cheats or is there cause for challenge minded players to purchase the IAP weapons? Do they involve difficult mini-quests or penalties to keep them balanced? ...Will IAP weapons just Rambo your team, or do they offer balanced but different play options? Thanks in advance for any opinions.
OK all, I need help here. I purchased the Witch Hunter and want to swap out one of my other characters to use him. But I can't figure out how to do this. It won't let me select him, even though it shows up in my warriors list. I also purchased the expansion packs. Does this warrior only work in certain levels? Thanks.
I spent more time searching on various forums and here's what I found on the IAP 1) don't buy the weapons, they break the game 2) buy all the quest expansions, tiles and monster packs 3) As regards the characters The witch hunter, the shadow warrior and the bright mage are must haves. The archmage sucks because his spell list is chosen randomly each turn. You can either cast only offensive spells or only defensive spells. This is quite unpredictable you want to carefully plan your strategy. The ogre irongut is strong but only has one attack and needs to be buffed by one of the wizards to get extra attacks. The dwarf trollsayer has received some praise, I still don't know if I should buy him. Same goes for warrior priest. People initially said he sucked as his auras were not always effective. They could randomly buff 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4 characters depending how lucky you are. This level of impredictability is annoying to many players. Apparently, the latest patch made him better but I don't know how. I would appreciate any comments on the trollslayer and the warrior priest. Are they worth getting? I can't make up my mind and time is running out fast. Thanks
Thanks for the heads up. Since I got the game for free two weeks ago, I've bought all the IAP for a grand total of 15.13. Now that I've got more into the game in my iPad, I don't regret my decision at all. There are loads of hours of gameplay here. As for the weapons, if you are completely new to this kind of games, they help out quite a bit. I'm sure that after I've played a few more hours, I'll unequip them, but for now they are quite helpful to get the grab of the game and learn how to play these strategy games. Does anyone know if more IAP are planned?
Then, grabbing the full game with all the contents for $20-25 is a must. Now I understand why they made the "grab it free" and now the "all IAP at $1" moves. I'm sure there are many more undecided as me who are taking advantage of this sale.
