The initial campaign took me around 10-15 hours. Its impossible to say tough, as part of the fun of the game is adventuring and doing he random quests that pop up. Some people play hours and hours just the white quests. The extra campaign is more difficult, and it takes about the same time of the main one (to me at least).
sad to see that the game is "not quite there" yet with all the things previous commenters said. Not because i won't buy it. I know that these guys don't abandon their games, so i'm sure everything will be fixed eventually. Sad for anyone who doesn't know them and is having a negative first impression. They ARE listening and interacting with our community, so don't let temporary issues let you down!
Okay, completely agree with you guys on the "YOUR TURN" face assault. I keep thinking I died or something. Found my first typo # Mace: "Might to a lot of damage..."
Hello Hello, long time lurker here This game made me joining the forums^^ First of all I like this game very much. *thumbs up* I just wanted to report that I use an iPad Air 2, all other apps are closed if playing and I have over 30 gb space left. First I used the latest iOS 10.X and I noticed crashes. After updating to iOS 11.3 crashes still exist. I remember back the times as I played Warhammer Quest 1 using my very old iPhone 4 and it crashed a lot! Now using an iPad Air 2 and still having problems is a little bit frustrating, I even updated my iOS to 11.X. The crashes often happen at the end of a dungeon, if I retreat. Nevertheless I can absolutely recommend the game and I already bought all the additional content. I also hope we will get a journal for example as others mentioned and the game will be improved and get more content although its already very polished. I had to push the buy button several times to purchase the additional content, the button wasnt very responsive for example. One question: Is it possible to dismiss warriors? Right now I would like to have only 1 warrior of each type, a dungeon reward was a second blood knight. I noticed that sometimes random events appear as in WHQ 1 and random warriors are chosen. I am not sure but I think one event forced my to enter a dungeon without the opportunity to change warriors. PS. The best event so far after quest 3: Facing 4 stone trolls
Ok, hang on, so... I buy the dwarf. £2.99. I assumed from the item description I’d gain a dwarf in my team. But... no? I’m unlocking the potential to recruit a dwarf from a tavern? Hmmm. Not entirely convinced by that - not what I understood from the IAP item description. Edit: eg “what you get: the high elf mage warrior.” That isn’t accurate, if I haven’t just experienced a glitch. What I get is access to hiring a high elf mage warrior. With no immediate visible gains from my £3, and no ability to play a dwarf until I can afford one by extensive saving. (€50-100 pet mission atm, so that’s looking like about 19 missions. Assuming no levelling up or gear buying in between. Thanks for that.)
I may be wrong but if you unlock a char and then start a new game, chances are it will be there along with the initial Captain and Dark Elf Sorceress. Worth a try. Worked so at least in the beta.
Well that was fun while it lasted (which wasn't long!). Crashed in the middle of the battle to save and add the Blood Knight and it crashes every time I try to reload. Guess I'll wait for the update and hope for the best. iPad Air 2 on 11.0.3 with ~16 GB available. Tried rebooting too. Edit: Apparently not device or OS specific because the same thing is happening on my iPhone 6s on 10.
Not so, unless you do indeed have a glitch. I just purchased the three dlc characters. I then went to do a mission and in the screen where my original characters are I just tapped on one and I got to choose from the three I just bought. #
I have to agree with everything others have said -> Lose the 'Your Turn' display. I assume all the beautiful graphics are there to immerse you in the fantasy. The turn break screen wrecks the vibe every couple minutes. It's really distracting. If the game needs to do some setup or housekeeping between turns, put a little hourglass or something up in the corner. Yeah, the UI is a mess, especially inventory. I know cards are currently popular in gaming, but here they serve no purpose other than looking cool. Condense all those pointless extra screens and steps into a few information-rich displays with comparison specs, drag and drop... Also, the world map may be pretty, but navigating it is clunky and counterintuitive. Again, merge and simplify. Enemy LOS is a must! It's difficult to be tactical if there's no cover feedback. Nuff said, it's a no-brainer. Finally, is there a bug that resets completed acts? I finished Midlands Act II: Cryptic, got the hammer, achievements... the game gave every indication it updated my progress, but after a break and app restart I'm back at the top of that quest.
OK, yep, 100% not working for me. Original 4 chars only. Go to shop, restore purchases, thanks for purchasing... Hmm. Well, thats annoying. Tbf, only a handful of missions in due to earlier crash bug and need to fully update iOS. But still.
Ok. So a new save got me a dwarf. Does this mean Im going to have to buy all the DLC I want now, or risk having to reset if I decide to buy owt more at a later date? Thats feeling like a pretty massive deterrent to committing either time or money atm. You know, complete the first set of missions, try to buy second, find I need a reset? Deeply uncool up####. Clarity, anyone?
There was a dungeon with 4 stone trolls, one of them was almost down and the game crashed. After reloading all enemies had full health although several turns passed and damage was dealt. Somebody else noticed it? Does a screen exist which shows all unused equipment beside the screen which pops up if you sell it in a town? I agree the UI for equiping warriors requires a lot of clicks and could be improved. Nevertheless I am looking forward in finishing this part as I did the first WHQ.
Characters don't have any innate abilities, which makes them feel like bland, generic attackers. I have all four starting characters up to level 3, and my sorceress doesn't have any spells. I saw some stuff for sale in the towns, but leveling took most of my money (probably not a good idea to spend it leveling characters), and the items I've seen so far seem no better than my starting gear. I saw an attack spell for sale, but it doesn't seem better than the starting staff (just a different damage type). Would be nice for the game to explain the difference between str/dex/int/spd (maybe if you hover over them). Enemy resistance seems to depict the opposite of resistance. If the enemy's "slashing" bar is 30% filled, it doesn't seem to mean the enemy has 30% resistance to slashing, but that you will do 30% damage if you use slashing. Inventory management is painful. Luckily I haven't seen much worth purchasing yet, but this is going to be a really annoying problem later. I'd say this is my #1 thing that needs re-doing. "Your turn" - already mentioned, it seems too long/intrusive. I know Deathwatch did it, but it felt OK in DW but doesn't feel good here. I do miss the more colorful greens and browns from the first game. The new game is a bit stark with the dark colors vs white UI.
If this is your only issue with the DLC, I wouldn't worry too much. I bought the DLC after I started the game, and I've already received two new characters for free through random encounters. No guarantee that'll happen for you, of course, but unless I've been incredibly lucky, it doesn't seem too hard to get new folks.
For god's sake not this awful card drop system again. Why it's there? This "one item per mission" drop system ruined WH40k Deatwatch.
Well then crap, I was indeed interpreting the bars backwards. Thought a full bar meant full resistance.
Its quite a major issue if IAP arent added until a new game is started, and I later decide I want the mission expansion set. In Quest 1, I had three saves, the least-played of which had about 36hrs. I dont particularly want to lose that kinda time commitment - or, tbh, to buy a DLC that gives me literally nothing straight off. Its iust... janky. Like many others, I guess Im this games natural audience. But, despite over 20yrs of keen WH engagement and thrashing the heck out of Quest 1 (and loudly and repeatedly flagging this game on other forums pre-launch, and actively avoiding soft launch so I could get the proper experience) I find that Im struggling to like it. Theres just loads of small things getting in the way - niggles, crashes, small failures, concerns - that leave it feeling half way there. You know, kinda do I actually start this save game knowing the next IAP might go tits up, or do I buy everything now without any clear belief that the core game is functional enough for me to still want to play in a weeks time? Sort of thing. Screwing up IAPs should be the last thing that happens. Its proper turn-off stuff.
Whoa, lots of stuff to go through again. *cracks knuckles* here we go... @everyone who’s getting crashes: If you have the time, can you send the crashdumps to Perchang ([email protected]) ? Extra great would be if you can also write them where your crash occurs exactly, and include their own log too. If anyone needs help with that, remind me tomorrow (Discord/PM) and I can write up instructions (too tired now, been a long day). Also, Ben wrote upthread that the first patch to address crashes is already with Apple, should be available soon. @Ben: You really need a “send savegames via email and include the latest crashdump and logfile” function. My bad I didn’t think about that during beta @Quoad: AFAIK if you buy a DLC hero, you should get him in your hero list right away on all your saves. But I can’t say for sure, as I had them already. Also, you’ll get a lot more Gold later, and even 3k or more for a new hero becomes affordable. If you get lucky, you can get over 500g even from early dungeons. @Roger: Welcome for real, so to speak Unfortunately no, currently there’s only the Sell list if you want to see all your stuff. Fingers crossed they improve that in an upcoming update. And never ran into your “enemies back to full health” bug, so I can’t comment on it. You’ll have to wait for Ben. Dismissing and/or parking heroes currently is not possible. I asked for that during Beta, I’m sure they’ll get around to it after addressing the various gamebreaking crashes. @Oscar: I never ran into that “reset progress” bug either, so sorry but no clue @Slaanesh: Welcome to TA, Prince of Darkness orgy at 3? For the record I’d like to state that while I have a lot of praise for WQ2 even with the current issues, I also gave a lot of quite critical (as in criticism) feedback during Beta, and I know and/or assume that others like Pitta did as well. However, with the extremely tight deadline (external factors like GW, I guess?) I didn’t expect Perchang to get any of the suggested major changes - or even several of the minor ones - done in time for launch. Ben stated several times that they noted down all feedback and plan to implement things that they consider good improvements over time. If I forgot anything Pitta didn’t answer already, or if you have more questions, just keep ‘em coming, we’ll be around
@Ben: Just thought of another one: Drag&drop to change the order of equipment in a heros slots. Im very finnicky with that and want my stuff in a certain order. Totally forgot about it during Beta Current method with unequip/re-equip is very tedious.
