Blasphemous! In my opinion it already shoots it above 90% of the MMO’s on the AppStore in its early state. Not for everyone and some will hate this game outright but this is more my speed of MMO. Been waiting for this for awhile. Also love the visuals of the game. Additional first impressions (a couple hours in so far): — All the classes seem really cool at first glance and I like that the player is able to choose their gender for each class. — On maximum visual settings my iPad is starting to show its age with the game pausing a noticeable amount when PCs are around (especially with draw distance turned up and “generic characters” turned off). Not really a negative since it’s my choice to turn everything all the way up. This probably won’t be much of an issue with the latest Apple devices. — I still think it’s nice that I see people joining together to tackle quests on a mobile mmorpg and I wish more mobile MMO’s, outside of a few, had gameplay that makes players think twice about tackling an area on their own. Joining a group doesn’t seem as crucial so far as some PC MMO’s that I’ve played (as of yet) but it’s not as “lone wolf” with a multiplayer element on the side that quite a lot of mobile MMO’s exhibit. I think it’s comparable to Adventure Quest 3D is this regard in that you can get away with soloing if you’re above level but having assistance in some places (intended or unintended) is literally a life saver. — The UI is a bit confusing at first but not too bad. Still could probably use a bit of work. It took a few seconds for me to discover how to switch between active quests, sending a group invite and finding my rings and trinkets section of my character inventory. As you know AQ3D has a tongue and cheek charm that makes it unique amongst MMO’s . I will definitely say the classes in Warhammer are more detailed than any single class in AQ3D that I’ve played and I like the feel of the combat better in Warhammer with the Witch Hunter class I’m currently using (the only class I’ve tried so far) but Adventure Quest has that class switching mechanic throughout the game that adds variety in its own way and the cosmetics in AQ3D are unmatched. I do think you’re more likely to enjoy Warhammer Odyssey if you’re a fan of AQ3D than most auto play mobile MMORPG’s. For me this game complements AQ3D rather than replaces it. Sounds like the micro transactions can become pretty offensive? I may dive in and see for myself, the promise of an old school MMO in the palm of my hand is too good to pass up.... please don’t be a let down!!! From ignorant "first time players" to 8 years old players to players that want every game for free Appstore is infested with misdirecting reviews. Trusting only forums like toucharcade and a couple of favourite youtubers. So i downloaded this one really liking it so far but i will see for my self how heavily iap based it is. JasonLL Well-Known Member Feb 21, 2014 546 106 43 Male #19 JasonLL, Feb 24, 2021 I believe it’s #4678. I’ve only ever used discord for second galaxy when that game first launched so I’m not quite fluent in discord usage. I haven’t used it much since I stopped playing SG but if you want to message me I don’t mind. Agreed. I always take AppStore reviews with a grain of salt. The majority of the negative reviews I see in my area are technical which is understandable since there are a few issues but, on the other hand, the game doesn’t hide the fact that it’s early out of the gate... and of course you get those one-star reviews from people who can’t get the game running at all or very poorly. Personally I wouldn’t rate technical issues negatively when an app first launches unless the game is riddled with bugs but everyone is different. The critique I do agree with that I’ve seen are these issues: Lack of different environments - So far I’m level twelve and, with few exceptions, my character has pretty much been wandering the city, going from quest to quest. In a way it reminds me of the first part of Neverwinter Nights where your basically doing quests in the different sections of Neverwinter. When Warhammer Odyssey does switch locations it is a welcome diversion. Fetch Quest heavy - A little too fetch quest heavy but that’s very much a mobile MMO issue. No crafting system - I would definitely appreciate a crafting system in Warhammer Odyssey. I do believe some sort of crafting will become available down the road since the blacksmith is used, as of now, just for weapon repair. They might expand the blacksmiths options or create an entirely new vendor. Overall though Warhammer is certainly not perfect but I’m enjoying it quite a bit so far. sakara214ever likes this.
