Had a level 4 match today before the eternal matchmaker state returned. Good even match against a max level mile terminator. Barely won but we were both hurting at this point. Hope they fix the match maker. To pop a similarly leveled AI deck against us if no one is arround. Rage attacke seem mor helpful now.
Leveled to grey 1. Game match making much improved afte today's server maintenance. Any body else think the effort reduce power up is over powered?
Ok, well here are some comments after patching today. First, while I have only played one match and will give it a few more tries, my initial feeling is one of disappointment. I went in at lvl 5 I think (the shield had a five on it... not sure if that means level or not) and my opponent pretty much outclassed me completely. He used a terminator vs my scout, and both his main character and his helpers were all 1-2 lvls above me based on the health of them. This meant slightly better gear and more health, and while I was able to inflict some damage, he was able to kill me pretty easily. Now I wouldn't necessarily complain about this, except 1. I havent completed all the missions in scenario 3 and am er was still trying to level my guys and hero, 2. I was trying to farm for card and cash in order to level up my guys so that I could finish the missions in scenario 3 and now find that I can't. So I am effectively stuck. I can't complete the scenarios with the guys I have, and I doubt I can win many of the pvp scenarios if it is going to stick me up against higher lvl / better geared players. So, from my point of view the game has basically become unplayable unless I want to drop lots of cash on it in the hopes of getting better cards or leveling my guys. I only have about a dozen "L" cards and none of them except for the wolf are upgraded as I hadn't really spent a lot of time farming before this. This is a big disappointment to me as I generally hate pvp and this situation wont help that. Like I said I will try a few more pvp matches and see what happens, but my guess it that after this week I will be uninstalling this game and moving on to something else. I hope that is not the case, but its what I am expecting. Developers... PLEASE reinstate the ability to farm for card and cash. I just played through one of the missions I had already completed and only got a card for the crate, no cash or components and before I was getting 2 cards and cash and components which wasn't great but at least I felt like I was making headway. So yeah now I am essentially stuck or that is the way it feels. Frankly I don't understand how someone in my position will ever be able to make any headway catching up to some of the other players who have farmed a ton before this and have lots of good upgraded cards and higher level teammates when even if I win a match, all I get is a pittance of cash...50 to 200ish is just lame and that is assuming you win. Seems like the developers have basically made it impossible to advance if you hadn't already completed the missions and farmed a bunch. So, good job. Unless things change this will be my last week playing this game as I don't see any point in playing one mission over and over to get one card which will generally be a useless common card or 25 gears (and generally takes 15-20 min). Its a crappy return on time investment at this point. If someone has any ideas or suggestions, please feel free to enlighten me. edit:Ok I am really starting to think being a scout in PVP is a horrible way to go. As a scout, we get to call out the wolves for free which if lucky enough to have that card come up gives in theory another attacker. So, my third match I finally got a wolf to come up. I use it and place it right next to the hero. The wolf then marches all the way across the map, grabs the last power up, and then moves to the lowest health guy (not the hero) and proceeds to attack him. So yeah I dont know how this is supposed to help me. One would think that maybe in PVP, the AI for the wolf should be... ATTACK THE HERO since the objective is to kill him. Attacking anything else is a waste. Oh yeah back to my previous point, the hero I was up against (grey shield lvl 2) was hitting me for 700 - 100 in one shot (not all the time) and adding 2-6 to my initiative while my best shot was for around 400 ish, 1/2 with his armor up. Yeah, so 3 out 3 massacres which means I have now spent 30-40 mins and have not gotten anything. Again, someone please enlighten me how I am supposed to improve with out spending a lot of money to do so. Once again I seem to have found a potentially great game that has decided to go all in on the PAY TO WIN scheme. Sad that the developers dont understand that people will pay to play good games that ARENT pay to win games. 2nd edit... can someone please explain to me how a terminator can hit me with a melee attack and get a bonus of 20% x3 or x4 with one attack. I thought they only got one +20%... but I keep getting hit by these heroes who are getting 3-4 of the +20% attacks to their melee. 3rd edit (prob the last one tonight)- I have at this point managed to win 3 out of 9... all against lower health opponents. Also, I have played against 1 lvl 5 grey shield and 2 lvl 2 grey shields... the rest have been lvl 3-4 grey shields. Not sure what that says about balance or if its intended. I keep running up against players with lv 3-4 E or L weapons which really hurts... wish I had one or two of those. the best I have are 1 lvl 2 E teleport and 1 lvl 2 E shield, all my other E / L cards are lvl 1, except for my wolf of course. Again, I would really like to know how we are supposed to get more cards at this point. The feeling of being stuck really sucks. Oh well, might play one or two more pvp matches before I call it a night. Hope you lower level players are having more luck than me.
Developers... any chance you could improve the last four options on the scout tree to be even marginally useful (for the last 2 levels)? As it stands all 4 options are kinda crappy especially when compared to the wolf and terminator final 4 options. For example, hero receives an additional +5-10% to damage when companion is present (stacks with the previous one) or -1 to 2 init when uses sniper rifle or -5 to 6 init when you kill a target with a sniper rifle or +2 to 3 init to target when hit by a sniper rifle... anything along those lines would be comparable to the wolf/terminator final 4 options and would be useful and reinforce the scouts options that you put forth in the earlier bonuses. Also, in PVP... the -3 init is way to powerful. This really needs to be reduced to -2 or -1... I went up against a terminator who had high - init cards... and coupled with this he was able to stay below 3 init after 2 moves for the whole match.
A warhammer game! Finally a Warhammer game, It has been ages since a proper game has been released. Excellent turn based game going back to its roots!!
Guys, thanks for sharing your thoughts about the latest update with us! All your ideas are very much appreciated and we will do our best to improve the in-game balance within a few days so that things could work fine again, especially the reward system. As for the concerns about the unequal battles in PvP: currently there is a kind of disbalance in getting an opponent, as all players have started PvP from the bottom league. Within a couple of days, when all the players are more or less evenly spread among the leagues, this difference won't be so unfair. By the way, here is a few supplies to help you make your way through the PvP battles: EKUKXZCDUG (7 rare cards, the code will be valid till April 30, 23:59 GMT)
I may have been that terminator.... But you are right the -3 init is unbalanced. But there is a marine setup where the marine just keeps getting extra turn points that gave me fits for a while. He hade the -3 init power up and even though I took him down it took. 15 minutes. Most games are 3-5 min max at the upper level. Go for the power up then focus on the main character in the early league. Would be nice if we could change the objectives to required zero survivor games. Honestly the move meant cards are critical and equip cards are a waste removing all from my deck as they waste a turn and will get you killed.
Yeah, I have beaten higher lvl players with slightly better decks because I got that init boost, which I am sure just infuriated them as it would me in the same situation. It is just too powerful. I do disagree though about the equip cards. With the right series of cards... having the equip card can often make the difference between winning and losing. Here is hoping that the developers re-instate the ability to farm the missions in solo play. I feel that if they add anything but some gears to the pvp win situation they will only push those who have farmed a ton further ahead and not give the rest of us a chance to catch up. I think re-instating the ability to farm will allow those of us who want to try to get better decks the ability to do so with out further widening the gap. Almost forgot... Thanks for the rare cards. Actually got a couple I can make use of which is kinda sad for me, but thanks. Now, how about a epic card or two?
wolves... So I am just wondering do the different wolves behave differently?... I have summoned my companion (the legendary one) multiple times and it seems like the it always goes after the lowest health unit on the map. However today in PVP a scout summoned the regular one (fully upgraded) and it immediately attacked my hero (it was summoned right next to him). Did something change or does the normal wolf behave differently than the legendary one... can some one explain this to me, and / or what the mechanics of the wolves are... Thanks.
For wolf movement (and AI movement in general): as I recall, the wolves will go after the lowest health person within 1 or 2 move cards of them (I can't remember which, but I think actually 1). If there is no one close enough to them, they will move towards the person with the lowest health. This can be useful for juking opponents on difficult levels so they lose lock and go after your allies across the map. Correct me if this targetting priority needs updating (I know they redid the AI for the final level's bosses to focus on your hero, not the lowest hp).
Thanks, that helps explain it. Just have to make sure to keep my soldiers closer I guess. Another question for the devs though. I just finished mission 5 in act 3 for the first time, got my two cards for completing and it looked like I also got a booster pack as the symbol for it popped up during the reward process. The problem is that I can't seem to locate that booster pack. I am guessing that maybe it is part of the increased rewards for completing the mission the first time which would be nice except that I cant seem to locate it. Was I seeing things, or was this supposed to happen, and if it was supposed to happen, then where is the pack? Thanks.
We are working on balancing the game. So, we have increased the reward for winning battles and we have added the reward for the defeat in PvP. And you will be given the weapon parts for replaying the missions!
Mkay. The -3 energy upgrade is officially broken; incidentally, mobility scout is broken with that upgrade (really anything is, but mobility scout doesn't even give your opponent a turn). I built a deck with 12 blue cards (3 run, 1 sprint, 3 accuracy, 1 blaze, 2 stun, 2 assault--all I had less an ambush), 3 -5 energy, and 3 supply. I took two wolves with the free wolf upgrade and the -3 cost of blue cards for movement. 20 cards in my deck at 3 energy or less. This would be bad (or mediocre), until I picked up the -3 energy upgrade on turn one (I drew my sprint). Now all my cards active for free or reduce my energy except my two overwatch weapons (a shotgun and ragnar's bolter) and their reloads (two shotguns and four bolt pistols). I had a catachan knife for giggles, and one other card that escapes me. For 1 energy, I stunned his commander, walked through his entire squad, killed his scout (entirely, no help from squad mates), walked the long way around the map counter-clockwise, deploying three wolves in the process, prepared to kill his terminator squadmate, and he resigned. Literally 1 energy (it *might* have been as high as three)... The equipment was removed from the deck, so I didn't need to worry about its energy costs.
Odd thing, have gotten 2 disconnects in pvp, both just as i was about to win. -somebody rage-crashed the game apparantly But i still got the win both times it seems. -i dont know if it was luck or if the devs actually anticipated dick-moves like that?
Just found a bug on using Morkai axe as move Had a bad draw on a mobility scout. All weapons no movement. Had to use Morkai axe to move 6 has 12 movement after this turn. Odd.
So I played through a few missions that I had already completed to see what would happen. In both cases, I got 1 card presumably for the crate I got during. When you said we will be given weapon parts for replaying missions, is this what you meant? or will you be re-instating the old system where we would get a card for the crate, a card and weapon parts for the completion? While one card is nice and better than nothing... it would be really nice if we went back to the old way where we could potentially get 2 cards and the weapon parts for replaying missions. Let us know, and thank you for reconsidering this.
