I'm considering making my main character into a tanky melee terminator (I have 4 legendary melee weapons and only 1 ranged) but id really miss having overwatch weapons WTB legendary equip stormbolter w/ overwatch plz!!
Maybe add a breakdown of the strengths of the different squad members? Also giving f2p players an idea of what to spend their credits on so they don't waste them on something that's not as useful. Einar (Tactical Marine) has a little bit of everything + jump packs, which are really useful for getting behind enemies and getting to hard to reach objectives (forge crates) Kai (Flamer) has good AoE damage Flamers and armor breaking meltas with the occasional shotgun for single target punch. Harald (Terminator) has more HP than the other squadmates and gets shields, making him much tankier. He also gets stormbolters which do great ranged dmg and several powerful melee weapons. If you invest enough into him, he can also get Heavy Flamers for some sweet AoE dmg and a few teleport cards, which are effectively the same as jump packs. Just be careful managing his effort. Ray (Devastator) has access to some unique heavy weapons that are quite powerful, like the powerful AoE dmg rocket launcher and range 6 (but only In a straight line) armor ignoring lascannon. You can also unlock Heavy Bolters, which are strong overwatch weapons. Once again, you need to be cautious with his effort. Yngvar (Scout) get range 5 sniper rifles and a few sprint cards, but has less health than other squadmates. He makes for some good tactical long range play. Overall he's my least favorite, but I still suggest players unlock him for the cards he gives to the main deck. I rate the squadmates in the following order based on my personal preferences: Harald, Einar = Ray, Kai, Yngvar. Early on I usually played with Harald and Ray, but in later chapters I started playing with Harald and Einar. Credits: buy terminator deck first, then scout. Then level up your favorite two squadmates to level 5. After that, it's up to you. Either finish your squadmates or start leveling your main character. IMO avoid life runes and boosters. Booster contain almost all common and uncommon cards. I bought a 7 pack of boosters and got 14 commons, 6 uncommons, and 1 rare. Pretty poor return for 6k credits. You can comment/copy/paste/edit mine if you'd like.
@vect, thanks a lot for detailed analysis of different squad members. I fully agree that this info will be useful for players. But I can't agree with your rating of Yngvar (Scout) . I think that you seriously underestimate him. I would rate him number 1 due to his ability to make 300-350 hits with mostly 100% accuracy each action from safe distance (best of all protected with Harald or main character). But certainly it depends on your favourite playing style. My current team usually consists of all 3 classes: Power class main character + Scout Yngvar + Terminator Harald. Btw, do you notice the big increase of "after mission rest time" on higher levels? Level 5 soldier requires 60 minutes (increasing +10 minutes per each level), and level 7 requires already 150 minutes
Ya I saw the increase, although 150 minutes seems pretty absurd. It usually isn't that big of a deal for me as I don't play for hours on end, but if I do finish a level and want to get an idea of what is to come next, I'll go in solo or with two squadmatesi don't use very often just to get a feel for the level and where the triggers are to spawn more enemies, etc. Right now I only have Harald up to level 5 and Einar up to 3. Everyone else is still 1. I have the least experience with the scout class, and I don't doubt that he's strong, especially at level 5+, I just hasn't gotten around to using him much. What does his stock "equip" sniper rifle hit for at 3 star once he hits lvl 5? Also, probably the main reason I like Einar so much is because I don't have teleport on Harald yet, nor I have been lucky enough to get a jump pack or two for my main character. Having a character that can book it to the forge chests is invaluable for some missions.
So I'm about to play what I think is the final mission (chapter 3-7) "No one lives forever" and in preparation, I wanted to go back and complete the only mission who's bonus objective I had yet to complete (chapter 2-5 "The Rain" where it says you have to start and complete the mission with only one character). After my second try, I managed to complete a solo run (no squadmates) with just a touch of luck. And then I didn't get the objective completed!?!?! So after reading the secondary objective more carefully, the only two conclusions I can come up with are the following: 1) the quest is somehow glitched Or 2) the quest is ambiguously worded and you are supposed to play with 1 squadmate, not just 1 character (i.e. Just The main character and no squadmates). Can anyone who's done this quest confirm this for me? I'm too disheartened after a perfect solo run to play anymore tonight if it is supposed to be done with a single squadmate, perhaps we could get the quest text updated to be more specific? Also, another feature/idea I had was to possibly not lock your squadmates on their timer if you quit a mission before taking the first turn just in case you accidentally start the wrong mission or with the wron squadmates. Just an idea
Is there a list of all cards? It'd be nice to have a list to see what's available. Also, I got the 30k booster pack. I got 4 shields, 3 jump cards and a few legendary weapons. It's going to be pretty difficult to level these cards. Seams like the packs should be more in line with how HODA does their packs uncommon/common and rare packs with the chance of higher rarity.
Nice, sounds like you had a bit more luck than I did. For the most part, I'm probably not going to be doing much evolving of my better cards until I either have more than three or until I've got too many solid cards to fit in a deck. Also, just crafted a legendary flamer named Durfast's Flame. 8 effort 230 dmg, 69% accuracy, burns targets for 45 dmg a turn. Pretty underwhelming stats. Not terrible, but it's hard to be excited about it when I have rare heavy Flamers that do more dmg and are more accurate.
I have Durfast's Fire also. I assume that your rare heavy flamers requires more effort that's why their stats are better than it. I got legendary MJALNAR Thunder hammer, Use, 7 effort, 513 damage, 81% accuracy, ignores armor and draw 1 card. Good stats but useless for me right now, since I'm playing with Power armor class. So far my legendary cards split is: 1 for sniper class only 2 for sniper/power classes 2 for power/terminator classes 2 for terminator class only
I saw the comment on Facebook that this optional quest is broken now and will be fixed in next update.
I realize that, and heavy Flamers are terminator only. It just takes away from the legendary feel, ya know.
Ya, that's where I am as well it seems extremely difficult with the 4 terminators that spawn at once followed by endless pairs of chaos marines and fighting two characters at once. Forget about the bonus missions...
Early on, I think it's 1-2 or 1-3, there's a couple of optional objectives that are kind of puzzling...how have you guys managed to do them? - On an early one it says kill no more than 5 units, but you face more than 5 units before the guy you need to kill even shows up! How are you supposed to just run past all of them and survive long enough to kill the guy for the mission? - On the one with the Rune Priest, there's a cache where the priest spawns, but if you go anywhere near the priest himself the mission completes. I tried using the marine with the jump pack to jump down to where the cache is, but that doesn't work, so I had to run down the stairs and of course you have to pass the priest to get to the cache so the mission completed.
- yes, you should run and do not kill enemy units. You may sacrifice your squad members to attract enemies attention - mission ends when all enemies are killed. So you should just jump/run by one of your soldiers and touch chest before all enemies are killed
Unfortunately the mission ends if you go anywhere near the rune priest even if there are still enemies on the board, I discovered!
It seems that you are right. But as far as I remeber it is possible to move your soldier to chest keeping some distance to Priest.
For the rune-priest mission, once the tune priest spawns, stop killing enemies and just run your guys down the ramp. Maybe it got changed in the last update, but I don't recall having any issue with it
So I got the boss down to 1k HP on one attempt today before I got swamped by the 3 leftover terminators, infinite marines, sorc, and the bosses attacked. I had a nearly perfect opening (only lost about 300 hp between my 3 characters before the terminators spawned) but could have handled the terminators better, and made a few small mistakes here and there. If you're lucky the boss will charge his tesseract twice in the fight. I've been trying to ignore the sorcerer and book it straight to the boss after I kill the first wave of terms, and I think that gives you the best chances. If I had been a little luckier with my cards and had a few less misplays, I could have had it. Overall, it's doable, but only with a good amount of luck, near perfect tactics, and a ton of patience. Perfectly tuned IMO for the last mission in the game. FYI I've got my scout to level 7 and my terminator at lvl 5, still level 1 power armor main character. I've only gotten one legendary from crafting, the rest were rewards from chapter bonuses. I've only done a small amount of grinding, and with a few more levels on my supporting cast and a few more cards on my main character, i think it will be a little less luck based (and I could think about trying to save the Carl). Also, let me just say that 5 effort 5 range teleports are pretty imba when combined with those reaper autocannons, 1k hp, and armor. Thank god Carl comes with a combi-melta.
I had exactly the same experience yesterday (got the boss down to 1,300 HP) with the similar squadteam of level 7 Scout and level 5 Terminator. My legendary Plasmagun with +3 effort each time target plays a cart effect allows to slow down the the boss significantly. But the main problem is Zymeltros Fell and the Terminators/Cultists rather than the boss himslef. Btw, two first upgrades for power armour are worth your credits, you will receive Rage much more often.
