A ridiculous joke for a <edit out computer> iOS game.

Plus you don't own anything because it is 100% online. If Herocraft goes belly up, this game is gone. How do you not have that feeling as you play the game that you are being squeezed for cash. It's just so imbalanced and with the connection issues it just isn't good at this point

I was making a joke that Warhammer anything is expensive, always has been. Hell, the rule book itself is $100, and it's not out of the ordinary to spend $50 or more on a single model (of which you need quite literally dozens of to play). Settle down and cool it with the bribery accusations as they're pretty inappropriate.

$230 would get you one rulebook, a squad or two of marines, and you could then spread them out before you on the table and stare at the sad sea of unpainted pewter and/or plastic that you would have to spend weeks of your life trying to paint....

Oh, actually thats a great idea for the iOS version. Start the models out unpainted and add another tab with premium option to skin them!!!

Actually, yeah, that's really funny and I wouldn't be angry if all my units and gear were silver until they got leveled up or something. That'd be pretty cool.

Just joking like you partly because I've seen more TA responses on this thread than any other I've read/posted on.

I played warhammer starting back in in '93-94 and went on to spend a crapload of my and my parents money on Blood bowl, necromancy, WHQ, and the next couple versions of warhammer as well. I never did any 40k. Sadly a video game would never replace the experience of playing with the miniature and the price for this IP is more than 6x that of WHQ for less content and more headache.

Just give it to us straight. It's flawed and is overpriced. :) oh and I cleaned my previous post however it's stuck in your quotes.

    also games...
So true, I'm with you on that. We'll need to fix that asap. As for resets - we'll think how to do that.

I was really looking forward to this title. I don't mind freemium unless it is really aggressive, and I love turn based strategy games. That said, I agree with most everything negative that has been discussed about Space Wolf. The interface especially is missing a lot of options needed to streamline the game. The simple fact that players can't easily determine unit turn order is something that needs to be quickly addressed.

In addition, I think the core mechanics really missed a lot of opportunities to create an engaging game. Card systems can be massively strategic, allowing for combos and creative deck construction. However, Space Wolf's card system is fairly flat. Synergy is limited to overt combos using chains, generally giving a straight-forward bonus for using a ranged or melee attack with a chain card in hand. Players are also only given two actions, with movement being one of them. This dramatically limits interesting choices and makes gameplay very obvious and thus linear.

Ultimately I found the game looks better than it plays. Aesthetically, Space Wolf obviously has a lot going for it. However, it is not a great game for someone looking for a proper TBS title. Heck, I didn't even find it all that fun as a light freemium title. Space Wolf does nothing particularly well beyond looking good and having the Warhammer 40K license, which is a shame, as the ideas behind this game have so much potential.

Gee, I never played war hammer 40k. I've always thought that space marines are good at charging but ridiculously slow in turning. I got that impression from Space hulk.

Would be nice if movement was a flat amount dependent on the type of deck you choose, where scouts may get +1. Any over movement up to 2x distance would cost an action point. Then you get 2 actions (maybe also dependent on class, skills, and what cards you use.

This would solve the annoying problem of not being able to turn and attack someone right next to you without spending valuable AP and effort

Until you're charged extra for coloring the equipments. And again when you got new ones.

Wound up deleting this at around stage 7. I'm guessing your core audience will have a few tactical strategy games on their device, most of which will be premium and not aggressively push you towards IAP as well as offer up significantly deeper gameplay. It's hard to even want to open up something like Space Wolf when XCOM, FFT, Ravenmark... And Warhammer Quest are all sitting right next to it.

The graphics are good, I liked the controls... But the stale gameplay and IAP push just doesn't make me want to go back to the game when I boot my phone up for a gaming session.

It's unfortunate... As there's SO MUCH potential here. But it feels as though more thought went into what they could add to the game to try and pull more money out of people instead of what they could add to the game to give it more substance, depth and challenging gameplay.

    Definitely a missed opportunity...

    • Seems like now you can earn 150c in first chapter, 300 in second and 500 in third. :)

    Chaos Scales Level?

Is it just me or do the Chaos troops seem to get more health? I could've sworn that their hp was 260, now they're 360.

Been "grinding" for a while so got all 5 troups, but my squal levels are stuck at 1, any recommended builds around?

I agree as well. I played a couple missions and found the movement to be odd and gameplay to feel rather stale. I've got many other turn based games and all of them are more interesting than this one. I would have loved to see a Hunters 3 with a much deeper campaign as I loved those games.

    Game Impressions

    This thread looks like:

WH fans: why online? why so dumb movement, rotating and shooting process? why shooting through troops and unable to turn 45 degrees and get enemies? have you ever played Hunters, WHQ, Banner Saha and HS?! why so strange deck config ui and how to count it's power?

Dev: Om... nom... Take some promo codes for rare cards.

Paid TA commentors: WOOOOW, just completed the tutor and i SEE that it's a fantstic game!

WH fans: Thx for useless cards, are you hearing? The game is unplayable junk. And are you serious about IAPs prices?

Dev: We are already sorry, we can't make the game playable, because our team is too small and time is not enough! So enjoy ass pain... and take some more promo codes for super rare cards.
By the way, take a look at credits: Dev team is 15 members and it seems like game was more then 1 year in production due to first announcements

Paid TA commentors: Give em a chance guys, try to enjoy ass pain.

This is very disappointing that 15 (russian?) kids got the rights for game developing for such gorgeous brand and failed. How it could happen? Games Workshop doesn't look like blind folded managment company.

    Lolcakes

I haven't seen the increase yet because I was stuck in an epically long (lag/DCing) last mission of act 1 where the sorcerer can teleport 8squares for seemingly no effort, then attack you twice the following turn using multiple chains that add 6 effort to you and he gets 6 cards back. Oh and if you attack him he will just chain a reduced 50%!! Chance to hit his already rediculous 1900 hp. So when most of our abilities hit for 200 on average at 50% chance and oh ya that is if you can reach him cause he teleported away, he's retardedly hard to kill. Did I forget to mention 2 2 mobs spawn and come down the hall to kill you as well. Not sure how anyone could get the chest and kill the boss and survive.

Yes the enemies seem to get 20-40 hp based on your hero level.

I would love a Hunters 3 in this same perspective!
