Am also loving competitions  Played four days, fluffed the first, top 1% twice and top 10% once. Which, if you can bag it, makes 20 gold and a freemium video a very worthwhile investment
Oh ok, sorry. I tend to avoid starter packs and go for gold packs but that's just personal preference.
 Think it came with some gold too, but clearly not much. I've racked up c.800, but iirc most of that came from the most recent £5 "value" pack. One of the knock on advantages of wargear - and what might nudge me to go for it again - is its afterlife. One legendary piece of kit in the forge guarantees an epic result; which is quite a nice legacy. I'm not sure if it's unusual to have a freeblade fully kitted out with epic (?) but that's what I've had for the last wee while  (Only a wee while, tbf, I think. Got rid of a blue shield either this avo or last night.) Edit: tell a lie Blue chainsword. replaced an epic one with a forged un that was, tbf, vastly better.
[Tip] Forge / Quest Info for Quests type "forge amount X of Y": Seems you HAVE to start those via the Quest screen's "FORGE" button that is shown to the right of the quest infobox. If you don't, the forge result does NOT count toward the Quest. I'd classify that as UI/UX bug.
[Strategy Info] Campaign / Medals Info on the Medal limit for unlocking new Chapters, and replaying previous missions for more Medals, also Patrol Medals: So I just reached the end of Chapter 5. To unlock Ch.6, I need 110 Campaign Medals (CM) and 40 Patrol Medals (PM). I currently have: - Lvl20 - Wargear Rating (WGR) : 1034 - CM: 85, PM: 49 I had the same situation - that I didn't have enough Medals and/or good enough Wargear - before with other Chapters, so in general: If you can, try to reach the end of a Chapter without investing too heavily into forging/upgrading. Then, when you need more Medals and/or better equipment: This is a very good point to replay Missions for more Medals, do Patrols for Medals, and forge/upgrade what you can. E.g. I replayed Beastmaster Mission 2 (Ch.4 I think), and 3-medaled it immediately with no trouble. See post below for a few tips on upgrading.
[TIP] Forge , Upgrading Wargear On upgrading: - Plan what you want to forge and what to upgrade - Rule of Thumb: Forging your lowest non-white equipment is ok, when you can get at least 10 points more WGR, *and* don't have a "Common" chance in a mission to get something better as loot. - Rule of Thumb: Upgrade only your highest Tier gear. And only when its WGR is high enough that you do not expect to replace it with a lower Tier but higher WGR part soon. Example: I expect to replace a blue Stubber WGR 50 with a green Stubber WGR 70. Now it makes no sense to upgrade the blue Stubber. Better spend the resources to forge a better green one, or upgrade it if you have it already. And if I forge with the blue Stubber, I'll always get a blue one as result, of course with better stats & WGR.
[TIP] Melee Hitzone & Critzone Something influences the size of the hitzone, critzone and pointer speed in Melee combat. I think it is a combination of your level vs. monster level (and maybe monster type), and your critical chance. I fought a level 19 Squiggoth, and had a small hitzone, a very small critzone, and a fast moving pointer on the bar. Against a lvl 19 Gargantuan Squiggoth and a lvl 19 Lord of Skulls, I got a very small hitzone, tiny critzone, and a very fast moving pointer. Checked against a lvl12 or so Ork Gargant in an earlier mission: there, hit&critzone were bigger than in the examples above, and the pointer moved noticeably slower. Equipment was the same in all cases. If anyone knows more details, please share.
Holy hell, another time limited offer?! Looks almost indistinguishable from the £5 one I bought, only double the price and with trivially more gold! That's *twenty chuffing pounds* of time limited IAPs in a week (!) Making a strong move to redefine shamelessness there!
Not playing that many F2P-heavy games here. Is that over the top? From what I've seen so far, I thought they all do that, throw "special offers" at you constantly to "encourage" you to drop a buck or 10.
The most recent need for speed f2p all out mess was once a *month*. Apps like 8 ball pool do something like weekly / biweekly "half price coins" sales, but this level of "time limited value pack" offers is something else. Ime. £20 in week 1 post-launch is milking your money cows *hard*! Tbf, I'll usually avoid all but the most nearly-premium f2ps. I don't think I've ever spent more than c.£13 on one, and that'd be over a month or two.
During patrols I got bombers flying from the side in a manner when I saw a bomber only after it dropped below mbs. So I got bomb strike from the side but I even haven't seen the bomb. And that's really annoying. Maybe dev should add rear auto-cannon, so enemies thart left behind be killed, when the knight proceed forward.
Ohmygoodgosh, there is a THIRD Tier of Campaign Missions, just unlocked it together with Chapter 6. I can't even survive the first mission of the new Chapter, looks like quite some replaying is in order. First real wall I hit, I bet it's no coincidence that a suddenly very tempting value pack suddenly showed up... In other news, I also hit a wall with the Patrols once I reached level 20. About 2 of 3 I can't survive anymore, difficulty spiked quite a lot there as well. But with the new mission Tier to not get bored, I think once I upgraded a bit things should go smooth again.
So I am guessing the time limited packs are set like once you unlock each new chapter because I just beat chapter 3 and one popped up.
Quick note on forging. *sometimes* 5 purple plus a gold gives 100% chance of a gold. If you get he message that your item level will be limited by your forge level, it probably means you're using more items / level than you need. Also don't assume if it says your item is limited by your forge that the shown output is your current max. You can probably get higher if you fiddle with the items
Best uses for gold? I've accumulated 900. Which was my goal. To buy three epic supply drops. Now I'm there, my finger is hovering but hasn't quite dared to push "go." Any better uses?
