Nope. Was definitely top 50 as I was surprised to see the score and the final result (as well as the 80 gold). Hasn't cleared for me. Been top 10% a few times as well and that hasn't done it. Not sure why I still have the bug if others don't.
Lighting Cannon is *armor*?!? Anybody else think it's both sad and hilarious that the Lighting Cannon is classified as armor? At least I got it twice from missions drops/rewards on Chapter 11. That was quite a nice surprise. I can only imagine what kind of an impact that's having on forging to say the least though. So clearly PixelToys has no real QA or test team. There's absolutely no excuse for something this dumb to make it to release. I know I keep saying I'm about done with Freeblade (especially because my posts, the most important ones too, are almost never responded to by anyone from PT) but I'm getting closer every day with the sad unrewarding endgame grind and obvious cheating in the Daily Event high scores...
Not that I have any real insights about the forging process, but I wouldn't see that it would, given that forging seems to be a strictly numerical progress. At least I can't qualitatively say that armor forged into weapons or vice versa significantly affects item quality. At this point, it's the older things we've raised which annoy the most. Johnny mentioned being able to put down more ore to specify a legendary weapon's special bonus, and that's no longer just a nice thing to have...it's desperately needed, because the inputs for forging legendaries only get harder to come by going forward. Why in hell, this far into the game, do I have to keep blind-forging level-350 meltaguns just to see if I get a chance on-kill at a puny three-second partial damage reduction, versus a game-changing 14 percent increase in my chance to find item crates? Yes, it's annoying to keep using the same gear for months on end, but it's even *more* annoying to forge for unknown results with failed level-350 items which each represent an abundance of wasted resources and time. And then there's adding high-risk/high-reward patrols, putting faction identifiers on events and patrols so anti-Chaos/Ork gear is finally useful beyond the campaign, making the daily-event reward curve an actual curve rather than a hockey stick...I still have faith in the Throne, but it's starting to feel like any help has gotten trapped in a Warp storm.
salvaging gear. how? What I want to know is how do you salvage items for ore? I simply can't figure that part out. there is no button or option i can see :/ edit: PS. first post! hi!
How does one salvage wargear? I can;t figure it out. How does one turn their gear into ore? thanks in advance!
In your wargear display, you'll see a set of pointy teeth along the right-hand edge of each item you own -- put your finger on those teeth and hold there, and a piston will begin to extend across the item listing from the left. Once it reaches all the way right, you'll destroy the item and get 10 ore per level the item had (a level-200 stubber salvages for 2,000 ore). The piston moves slower when scrapping rarer items, so you don't accidentally destroy legendaries, but if you wish to do so just keep holding your finger down and it'll eventually happen.
I suppose I shouldn't be shocked by now, but I saw this atop tonight's leaderboard when I placed 215th on the evening's daily event: Alas, the final standings show us that poor Amarath just wasn't doing it right: Of course, cheating is still a red herring, when the real issue remains the distribution of event rewards -- not only does the miserly number of top rewards increasingly drive people to cheat, that artificial scarcity also magnifies the effects of cheating and sets us against one another rather than the system that's done so, much like airline passengers complaining about people reclining rather than the airline that's chopped six inches out of their seat pitch over the last several years. Johnny, I'd still like to hear one good reason why the top 5 percent of people in a daily event shouldn't get a legendary item...because when I look at that second screenshot from tonight's event with 17,349 players, that means the top THREE-THOUSANDTHS of everyone who played got one. Put another way, one out of every 346 people who played today's event made Legend...those odds are frankly ridiculous, and call the entire system into question. With the playerbase apparently on the rise (I remember 12,000 people or so playing daily events when I started in November), this problem's only going to get worse -- and by extension hose more and more people.
Hi folks, A few comments have popped up whilst I've been helping support the Android version of the game. Firstly, to cover the issue of CHEATING - With the release on the new platform, we've clearly got a few new cheats out there now. To assure you, we don't tolerate this and are taking steps to improve our cheat detection in the long run - for now, we are actively banning players from Event mode and removing bogus scores. We are, as with many balancing issues, considering adjustments to the reward brackets in light of the influx of new players. The liveries awarded in these are pretty special and it's our desire for these to remain so that if you see these players (particularly in multiplayer) then they should really stand out. We still have a few other tricks up our sleeves for Events! I'm not entirely sure what you mean by this - do you mean you can equip this as armour? Please note that we have specifically designed the loot drop last mission of Chapter 11 to give you a chance of acquiring a legendary Lightning Cannon, but this should obviously be classified as a weapon rather than armour. If you've managed to equip this as armour, please let us know how you did this! Great spot, Maximusursus - thanks for that! We'll take a look at this issue. I don't think any fixes we make to this will make it into the next version of the game, 1.7. I'm also not 100% sure that value is accurate, but like I say, we should get it looked into. Finally, speaking of 1.7, this should fix the loyalty quest issue that people have recently been encountering.
That's good to hear, Johnny, but...what can you tell us about the prevalence of cheating in Freeblade? How many people a day or week or month do you catch, and how have they been able to cheat? Honestly, I could care less about the guy who's illegitimately scoring 200,000,000 points -- it's the ones who are merely scoring 480,000 so they can make Legend and stay under the radar who concern me. No, the liveries aren't really special -- not in a tactical sense, at least, although they certainly look pretty. What is really special is the legendary weaponry that's been coming out of events: not merely weapons that have some of the best bonus ability types in the game, but weapons that have them at their highest levels. Where the rest of us have to farm Nekkruncha No More and Retribution for *chances* to get second-tier legendaries which forge en masse into 350s that *might* have useful bonuses and *might* have them at useful levels, the elite who do well (or cheat) in events have those items dropped into their laps every single day. While I understand the impulse to restrict access to such powerful items, your system is building an unfair playing field in which multiplayer is going to expose the yawning chasm between the haves and the have-nots. With the advent of level-364 gear from Tier V events, it's possible to gain unmatchable levels of firepower...but out of the 6,027 players in the tiered event that ended last night, exactly five got the weapon on offer for Legend. That's less than one in a thousand, and the names in that top five are people who keep popping up there like yezi or Xindi. If these stingy levels of reward continue like this, any competitive multiplayer system in Freeblade is going to become something akin to daily-fantasy sites like DraftKings or FanDuel, where a precious few "sharks" have their way with the vast majority of lesser players. At that point, those top players will be able to use the tools you've given them -- and only them -- to gain even more power in this game, which they can then use to heighten their advantages in multiplayer and hone them on the backs of the playerbase at large. And that isn't a game I want to play. Not that I encounter it much in the endgame, but I always thought that was something of a feature -- it's helpful in the midgame to know if the item you're forging will actually help you meet a mission requirement, especially if it's blocking your progress in the campaign. Maybe you don't need the exact number, but a green check or a red X to indicate whether that's the case would keep folks from waiting eight hours to find out. Speaking of helpful things, it'd also still be useful for the game to have added storage for both blessings and wargear. It's frustrating to burn off Boost XPs from events on the next thing I play, or automatically use Boost Knight Powers when I'm at 100 percent repair rather than 60...and on the wargear front, those 90 slots are feeling pretty tight when I've probably got 30 pieces of wargear cycling for combat use and another 50 awaiting forging under more favorable circumstances than the game currently permits.
Legendary helm beyond 300? Seems like the legendary helm was around 210 only? I can't forge a helm higher than 300 and it's always purple (I am level 46)
Anyone else run out of game progress quests? With the broken loyalty quest and now no game progress quests (says "more coming soon"), and the salvage team just giving ore and a blessing, there isn't much reason to play.
It's pretty simple really and what I'm hearing is nobody's bothered to look into it. No you cannot equip a lightning cannon as armor. All items thankfully only go into their correct wargear slots. There's only one place in the game where gear is categorized. The forge. So go into the forge, go to build anything and see the embarrassment of which list, (unused) weapons or armor that available lightning cannons are under. I shouldn't have to do a screen grab. As we have absolutely no actual details of how the forge works (you guys have yet to produce a glossary of *any* kind to date) this is a potentially big concern. Of course as Voo has said, it's all apparently just a random mathematical slot machine anyway so it probably doesn't matter. But wow what an embarrassing hole on your QA. But hey, as long as you're making all that ad money right!?!
The game has always been like this and like everything else there's no guides or instructions and it's most likely not important enough for Johnny to comment on. We just have to sadly wait for a release to come with more progress quests someday. Maybe. Just like multiplayer...
this game has been fantastic, I have been frustrated with forging quests at one point there was 33 items totalled on the quest screen to forge!!!! 1 item to go, have spent $6.00 as that gave me 2000 gold and some epic weapons, all in all excellent wh40k game, graphics and game play brilliant, one small thing though...the chaos team do not behave like the followers of Khorne, khornate warriors would be trying to hack the crap out of your legs and climb all over you, black legion or iron warriors would have been more suited for the amount of predators and rhinos that are running around and missile launcher dudes, johnny you guys created a great game to add to my warhamner iPad, cheers
concerning the cheating problem on events................ Each event has a certain amount of destructible, soldiers, transports, mechs etc etc - right!! All these add up to points earnt by blowing them to hell. Taking in into consideration the add-ons like massacres, savage bonuses and assignation bonuses a rough total must be calculated. Any one making over this amount plus 20% (just in case) may have an unfair advantage would you not say. I do not know what is going on, but it seems uncanny how you know you have have a good run with all the bonuses etc and still only make roughly half what the top players are making. I must add the times I have made it into the top 50 these players have not played.......weird!!!!! There must be away to make this great game an even playing field, what is going to happen in multi player or any arena that may be planed??
@Johnny Just to let you know, I've tried numerous forges and this issue I told you about is up till now 100% correct @Kiwiklown Jeez you're right! Khorne followers are indeed fanatics with an unquenchanble thirst for blood, this AI behavior doesn't suit them and I am very glad someone else noticed this besides me! @Mikebass & Johnny The thing is, many of these scores might be 100% legit, just "exploiting" some stuff we "regular" players haven't seen yet. This reminds me very much of Hitman: Sniper, where the top players did some questionable things in order to achieve the high score (stealth and subtlety were sure not one of them). So, turning my attention to Johnny, Hitman: Sniper had a really cool replay recording (and sharing) system, which I believe you can also benefit as Pixel Toys: We, as players, share our replays in the web/social channels, and you give us some rewards for this. In return, we start witnessing what it takes for the best score to be achieved and you gain more reach as the videos and the competition get more and more every day.
List of Purple and Gold weapons? Following up again on my 300 Helm question-does anyone know the Helm levels? Is there a sticky or page somewhere which lists all the weapons names and power levels?
I personally haven't seen any such list, I believe mostly because the naming and properties seem a bit random - if you take a look at the Global scores in the events or campaign levels and tap at the top players, you can see their Imperial Knight. From there, you can view their current equipment, which at many times showed me identical items in name, but with completely different properties. Also, to answer your question partially, I've seen helms maxed out at level 399 (upgraded there from 350 I guess).
