Funny you should mention that, Mikebass -- I've had the exact same experience in the last two tiered events straight. Ran an apparently flawless run, destroying as much of the environment as I could -- not all of it, but enough to raise and keep 8x throughout the mission -- then killing pretty much everything with executions, and came in 30 seconds under par with 100 percent health...at 250,000 points and Competent, versus the front-runners' 500,000. I'm at a loss, but given that we haven't ever seen a No. 1-scoring Freeblade event run or heard the kind of detailed scoring breakdown I'd need to understand what happened, I might as well assume cheating's involved. After all, I believe my last screenshot proves that it still happens. On a more pragmatic note regarding events, I think I'm at the point where I want larger, more solid hitboxes on small destructibles like posts and lights. I can't even count the number of times I've made 8x ahead of a turn during a jungle-tileset mission, budgeted hitting two posts to keep the multiplier during the turn, and promptly lost it because half a clip of meltagun fire aimed at the first post didn't even connect. I don't think it's that much to ask, because it feels like some of these targets are single pixels on my iPhone screen, which means I'm being penalized for the platform I'm playing on versus iPad users -- and that's just not fair.
The quest issue might be more than a platform bug, Spacedog -- I pulled this quest today, made Exemplar in the daily event and didn't pass the quest. Looks like we're stuck with it until it's patched.
Got this Quest myself, just downloaded 1.5.1, seems it was not on the list to get fixed yet. Lets hope it's fixed quick.
Same here - loyalty quest to complete event at competent or better. Done that 2x now and it's still there
Can't get through the final campaign mission. Not sure if I'm missing something, but it seems to drag on and on until I'm worn down to nothing. Is there a specific limiting objective I'm overlooking?
You have to keep hitting him and killing his followers at the same time. Found hitting him hard to begin with helps as it shortens the time it takes for him to go into Melee with you. Keep some of his followers alive just before this to kill and increase your multiplier. Remember you can shoot his fire balls and your force field can block the fire whip. I'm still trying to get 3 starts for the story game but somehow managed to get 3 starts for the timed event.
Glad to hear you folks are enjoying the update and the new patrol balancing! Firstly, I appreciate that almost all of you playing this on iOS, but we're pleased to announce that we have good news to share with our Android players very, very soon! Onto feedback from 1.5 that I can hopefully address... Event quest bug Thanks for all your reports on this. We'll look at trying to reproduce this and fix it for the next update to the game. Cheating in the final mission There's definitely an exploit on this mission (which I won't relay in here - suffice to say, it's specific to this mission only and NOT events) that we'll be looking to plug in a future update. When we do that, we'll likely refresh this leaderboard to remove the more ridiculous scores. Salvage team loot bug? All our internal testing has shown the randomisation behind the items being awarded being correctly applied. Can you please PM me if you are affected by this with the following information so that we can look into reproducing this? - What items are available. - What you're being rewarded - and in what order. - Your device model and iOS version. Thanks for all the feedback folks - keep it coming!
Johnny, can I ask when that next update might hit? I hope it's a hotfix, because leaving everyone with a stuck loyalty quest for a month would suck mightily -- especially when it's most people's main way to earn gold for incidentals like repair and event-replay fees. Interesting -- I'd brought a lightning cannon so I was electrocuting everyone simultaneously, which led into melee like clockwork. With a bit of judicious aiming to the sides I quickly logged a score of about 550,000, which left me wondering if the endless Chaos marine spam was intended...in its defense it does feel suitably epic, much like the Chaos stronghold's warp gate and its infinite-but-gradual reinforcements in Dawn of War: Dark Crusade. PM sent. Basically, it feels like the first draw has been locked on 30,000 ore -- the second one yields a mix of blessings/Revives and green crates, but since 1.3 I've gotten exactly one purple crate out of salvage. Given that I only saw oranges drop about monthly in salvage, the actual damage isn't that bad...but it fed the psychological impression from 1.3 to 1.5 that the game had no interest in rewarding the vast majority of its players. On that note, I was impressed to make only Master as usual on Sunday's Renegade daily event and get the Litany of Destruction livery being handed out to the top 25 percent of players. I keep asking for dailies' rewards to be made more egalitarian, and this is a step in the right direction. It'd be even more impressive as the rule rather than the exception, of course, so...please keep it up?
Thanks for all the PMs on the salvage team issue you've been encountering - that should give us enough information to try and reproduce the issue and fix it. I don't have a firm date for the next update to the game yet - as soon as I have a cast-iron date, I'll pop back in here and let you all know.
I've also had the stuck event quest since day 1 of 1.5. I was pretty excited by the new quests and the lack of extreme forge spam but then a bit deflated when I realised this was stuck.
Just a quick one for any Android users who might be reading the thread - it's live now! If you search for Freeblade in the Google Play store, you should be able to download and play it. I should add that the Events are cross-platform, so you'll hopefully be seeing more players in the various Event modes! =)
In addition to the stuck loyalty quest on event, the daily events are also locked in one set of rewards as well as one particular knight. The only variation of the daily events now is the map.
The loyalty Quest needing to be competent and above has just cleared. Mind you for the first time I have made it into the top 50 in an event and that is what it took to clear it. Hope it does not come again as I think it may be another long wait.
Just tried to replay the daily event by video (with gold in my account) and the same freeze-crash happened. Johnny, I thought you had fixed this?
App freezes and crashes even when I simply return to menu from the Daily Event. Is it only my problem?
Happens to me every time I do an event. Tiered and regular. Loyalty quest is still stuck for me as well.
Loyalty quest still stuck for me as well. I somehow managed to end in the top tier of one of the daily events (winning the livery) and it still remains stuck. And, no, I don't know how I managed to get that score ;D I think those with the stuck loyalty quest are being left to hang until the next update (if we are lucky!) No response to my bug/support request. A real shame.
Odds are you didn't hit a high score -- all of the Renegade daily events last week were handing out Litany of Destruction to anyone who scored Competent or better. I got the livery on my first try and promptly stopped playing Renegade events for the rest of the week, so as many people as possible could get the thing in lieu of my taking a 1-percent chance of getting more than 10 gold each day. For what it's worth, I can confirm that making Legend in an event will clear the "competent" quest; happened to me out of nowhere Monday evening. I took a screenshot, too, because I couldn't quite believe the high score...neither could PixelToys, apparently, which is why it doesn't show up on the retroactive event listings now. Of course, it'd be nice if somebody fixed the salvage bug, too. As much as I love pulling a guaranteed 30,000 ore instead of a possible legendary weapon twice a day...oh, wait, I DON'T.
Small bug/exploit - View forged item's level before it's forged Hello Johnny, I just noticed that if I forge an item and afterwards I select a mission where the specific item doesn't meet the requirements, the tip that appears to make me "hurry production" lets me see the level of the item in the forge. I've tested it once and it was indeed so, I am waiting for this item to end forging to let you know my feedback. Quite a nifty trick to see if the forge grants you something excuisite! Check the pic to see it for yourself: Also, can someone please post a video of how you manage top-50 scores in events? I can't seem to find anything anywhere..!
