Finally got around to clearing the stubber quest. What's next? Oh, forge 8 thermal cannons *sigh* Time to go back to logging in for daily rewards...
frustrating... for months now, I have been unable to sync my game across devices so I just don't play anymore.. keep thinking after every release that this may fix itself iPhone just never recognizes that there is a cloud save out there iPad sees it fine, and sees the phone changes
Fantastic game....but man these ridiculous forging quests are out of control, forge 3 items, complete that, forge 7 items, bang lets go 10 more !!!! For what, 25 gold, 32,000 ore, a rare item well below your current level? If there is going to be these quests then reward accordingly..3 items = gold, 5items a ton of ore, 7items then bring on the rare, 10 items =epic, 20 items which is just stupid should be at minimum a legendary item at least 25% more than current level, at the moment there is no incentive with such a weak rewarding program that can take days to complete..,
In the current tier 3 gold event #20, and a few patrol missions using the same map, there is a point where there are two nooks in a wall where a tank comes out of the right one and a bunch of orks come out of the left one. I can kill everything, but the knight does not move, so I fire the rocket launcher to see what I am missing. Apparently there is a single ork hiding behind the wall separating the nooks, and even the blast from a cannon can't hit him. There is nothing I can do, and so I have to abandon the mission. It is incredibly annoying.
I've seen this one from time to time -- he CAN be killed, but you have to have enough battle-cannon splash radius (at least 1050, based on my weapons) to reach him. For what it's worth, this would be the exact same temple-tile spot reported earlier where Blitza-Bommers could (and still can...) bomb you from off-screen before flying from right to left.
Thanks for sticking it out Yoo, I've been hanging in there waiting for good news, but so much of what's happening is just inexcusable. I guess with all the ads they run (no other game I play forces ads *at all*) they're making money no matter how much we bitch. I'm very tech experienced and pretty good at analysis and I see whats going on here. Follow the money. They're making tons and have no incentive to spend a bunch of development money fixing our gripes. No other iOS game I play has even close to this many problems, and certainly no other game has such inattentive and unresponsive developers as this one. But hey, thanks for the cool new ray gun that makes zero impact difference for LVL 50 players who already have battle cannons with 6200 damage and 1200 blast, while you don't fix even the slightest glitches and oft reported bugs...
Chance on Kill Meaning? What does "Chance on Kill: 4% armor restored after 2.0s" really mean? And what does "chance on block: 5% damage reduction for 5s" really mean-especially when this is on a ion shield anyway?
Truth be told, I'm not even trying that much more myself by now. I'm up to 70 million ore banked, and with Freeblade closing in on THREE MONTHS of nerfed patrol loot there's absolutely nothing new coming from mission runs these days. Daily events are still a cruel joke, salvage teams are still dropping the same pile of ore and two ribbons, and daily rewards still deliver something worthwhile perhaps once a month. I thought 1.5 would show up at the top of the month as The Patch That Fixes All This Stupid Crap, but since it hasn't shown up and Johnny hasn't even said anything in three weeks it's getting harder and harder to care until and unless PixelToys does.
This is pretty subjective, but based on patrols I'd guesstimate the "chance" in special wargear skills at 3 to 5 percent...on average my "chance on kill" items trigger three to five times per patrol, based on about 100 kills in each patrol. Armor restoration is easily the most significant kill skill in the game, because it restores a percentage of TOTAL armor -- and you can effectively inflate that by increasing your Knight's Toughness rating. I've equipped a single piece of 5-percent restorative wargear and walked out of patrols with 100 percent health, because my high Toughness means I take so little damage that the restorative ability heals all the damage I take. The damage bonus is negligible by comparison for anything outside a tiered event, because in most circumstances how fast you kill enemies isn't *that* important. More to the point, *when* you get five seconds of 15 percent additional damage matters a great deal, because it's worthless if it triggers as you begin marching down an empty street or if you're firing on an infantry squad that just gets overkilled...restored armor, however, helps practically whenever you receive it. The same issues apply to the damage reduction bonus, which is triggered by a percentage chance when you successfully block with your shield -- while the reduction applies to ALL incoming damage, not just shieldable blows, it makes a difference whether you're under fire from Chaos marine bolters or a Chaos Predator lascannon. That said, it's not much of a difference since the reduction percentages are so low they'd really only matter if you stacked them across several pieces of wargear so they'd overlap when triggered. Honestly, the damage-based on-kill abilities could really stand to be doubled in both effect and duration before they're even competitive. The practical worst-case for extra damage, say, is 10 percent over 10 pieces of wargear for a single-percentage chance of double damage for the next 5 seconds...and that's even assuming like skills trigger simultaneously across different pieces of wargear. Upping that to a potential 200 percent more damage over 10 seconds would still be a fairly random and high-risk/high-reward setup...damage reduction would be a smaller commitment in wargear because you wouldn't need more than five pieces/100 percent, but even at optimum triggering (five times 5 seconds = 25 seconds out of an average 120-second patrol) it'd be like a 20-percent chance at temporary invulnerability. That said, the most hosed special abilities in the game are still the racial damage bonuses, because neither patrols nor events can be bothered to tell you which race you'll be facing in advance. I suggested adding those labels to at least patrols an age ago, but nothing ever came of it...
1.5.0 update - new chapter does not work Hey PixelToys / Johnny, I've been enjoying FreeBlade for quite some time, great work! However, after the latest 1.5.0 update I have no access to the new campaign chapter, unless I pay 50 gold. I do have enough medals according the the screen. I guess it's a bug?
This happened to me as well, but i did a patrol (which still seem nerfed to me!) and then the new chapter unlocked.
Just to confirm, it's not intended that you should have to pay 50 gold to get through the gate! This post hits it on the nose though - if you do a patrol mission, the medal count on the chapter gate should update. You've beaten me to it though - 1.5 is out now, which should hopefully address a few of the concerns raised here recently. Note that you'll have to clear out your existing set of lower level patrols and forge quests to cycle in new ones. Once you get to Chapter 11, you should start facing significantly more challenging patrols!
1.5 impressions Well, I've been playing a lot more Freeblade over the past 24 hours. Lots to discuss, lots to think about. First and foremost, I'm pleased to say that the loot nerf appears to have been well and truly fixed this time -- I've seen blues up to 250, and purples all the way up to 300 dropping in patrols. Enemies feel a bit more heavily armored than most blue or purple weapons are capable of handling, as if they've been balanced against 350-level gear, but I'm not noticing much due to high Toughness letting me take all the firepower they've got and burn them down with relatively low-end guns that grant ore and crate bonuses. As a result, I've started forging gear again, which means the game's primary cycle is once again functional: player gets wargear, several pieces of wargear get forged into better wargear, storage space is cleared to receive more wargear. I also haven't seen a single forge quest in about 20 quest completions, which not only eases my sanity level but also means I can very quickly rack up significant bonuses to ore collected. In addition, quest bonuses seem to once again include 10-packs of ribbons, which make for nice blocks of patrols where I don't even have to watch a video to have ore and loot bonuses...or I can watch a video to get a Boost Knight Power, which keeps me playing for quite some time. It's also good to have a means of acquiring a lightning cannon, although I wish it were a straight 350 -- it's still useful in forging because one 343 lightning cannon plus one gold 315, three purple 300s and one purple 270 will make a gold 350, but it does take a bit of work. If I didn't know better, I'd think the embarrassed addition of a free lightning cannon to 1.5 along with its level is a total Halo in-joke (Guilty Spark 343?), or...perhaps I'm reading a bit much into that. On the flip side, I have to point out that while 1.5's improvements to loot bring us back to where we were at pre-nerf level-45 patrols, this means that for three months the game's entire cutting edge for standard forged weapons will basically be stagnant at blue 250s. Above that, you either find a purple crate or dump a lot of items into forging a legendary, which is an option available to some but not all players. I still want to see what a blue 300 looks like, because I suspect its stats would blow away most legendaries out there on everything but special abilities...and with those showing up on both purples and blues, there's a real chance one of those pieces could be the best thing in the game for some time. Fixed salvage pulls also haven't been addressed yet -- since Thunderstrike, I've pulled one level-300 purple crate out of salvage trying every 12 hours, with the rest ore, ribbons and green crates. Being able to get 300s out of patrols takes some of the edge off that, but the effective impossibility of drawing a legendary where I was seeing one about monthly kinda-sorta sucks, and makes a game that's effectively about horse armor feel surprisingly stingy. On the events front, daily plays for tiered events add a marked bit of incentive for the average player, because even a modest showing can turn the 20 gold that's basically the threshold of something being worthwhile in Freeblade. That said, nothing's been done for daily events, which remain thin gruel for anyone except those ranking Hero and Legend -- Master and Exemplar rewards still feel like being damned with faint praise, to say nothing of the insult that is Competent and Novice. And we've still never seen any explanation, let alone a reasonable one, for why so few Legend slots are available in events...I really think opening that up to the top 5 percent of finishers would go a long way to making these things feel a bit more inclusive. For instance, the select few people who've ever gotten a level-364 melee weapon from a tiered event are capable of doing more melee damage than any other player in the game -- that's one less swing on most melee opponents, from a weapon that's been getting handed out five at a time. There's still some wish-list stuff on the boards, like being able to put down ore for targeted special bonuses on forged items, being able to act on items being forged to improve either quality or forge time, and being able to store other ribbons than Revives. Ultimately they rate as nice-to-have, although the amount of time and resources committed to a legendary forging nowadays makes the first of those feel like it'll be a necessity in short order once forge times break 24 hours. Last but not least, I've been having some significant issues breaking the 300,000-point barrier to three-star the final campaign mission...I can kill the main opponent fast or I can kill everyone, without taking much damage either way, but neither a fast nor a comprehensive run seems to do much after the minute-long final cutscene apparently pads the mission time out to nearly three minutes. That said, some people don't seem to be having that problem...unless, of course, they're cheating?
1.5 and 1.5.1 crashes after events Ever since I installed 1.5 and 1.5.1 I've been getting crashes after I complete an event. I'm using an iPad Air 2 on iOS 9.3.1. As a result of this issue, I'm now stuck on the loyalty quest to complete an event with a competent or higher score even though I got exemplar. Also, I'm still having an issue the salvages. I still get 30,000 ore on the free one (every time) and usually get a boost after watching the video. It's clearly not random (this has been going on for like a month) so please fix this.
Thanks for the reply-as I suspect the only one which really matters is Armor restoration. But now I understand that is against total health-not just health in the game. I did also notice tho that there is some Livery with the same armor restoration bonus. Specifically the flaming livery. However I did notice that after adding new upgrade armor-this healing from the livery drops-even though I am still painted. Almost as if I need to redo livery every time I change armor pieces?

Complete Wargear Listing-names and abilities It would be really cool if there was a sticky or FAQ out there which listed all the names of the weapons and their abilities, value levels. Is there one out there somewhere?
Not that I know of, although the sparse nature of Freeblade's online presence makes it hard to say. Of course, there's also the Borderlands-style random generation of weapon stats, although designs (i.e., Their World Falls being a 1200-splash battle cannon with an ore-generation bonus) ought to be doable...
Hi Out there, just been playing 1.5 and at last it is challenging. Got a question for all of you, what am I doing wrong!!!!!!!! Its the events, I am normally in the top 10%. I keep the multiplier at 8, I always, well most of the time get critical hits in the melee and I allow the troop transporters and the landing pods to off load the soilders before destroying them. Health is always high at the end etc etc etc. Now this is the question........ How come after all that, and you know you have had a good game, my score is still only half of what the top 50 have achieved. Where am I going wrong..........what am I missing. Are there items of landscape that give you mega points....................please help! I understand the tier events as others may have better gear etc but the daily event is supposed to be a level playing field. Is there any one who can explain this to me?????????????
