My heartfelt apologies for this post. My pedant drive appears to've hit its end of week overdrive, but I still hate myself for feeling compelled to post. Take out the "must." And you're left with "I of done." This makes literally no sense - the only reason people do this is because "of" and "'ve" (i.e., "have") sound the same. Could've should've would've; strip out the middle word, and it's pretty swiftly clear that "of" never belongs here. And my heartfelt apologies again!
Check out his load out as well. Devs need to seriously look into this and some of the scores in daily events. I'm quite an experienced player but never placed top or near top before. I'm not being a sour grape but having dropped $$$ for IAP and continuing to supporting the game, I find it quite upsetting that cheaters get away with it. Devs need to police it more instead of waiting of us to point it out.
Reward cul-de-sac in patrols Having hit level 50 on Saturday and given the rest of the weekend to initial playtesting, I am indeed in the situation I feared when I first downloaded Thunderstrike: nothing I've pulled out of patrol loot thus far holds a candle to the stuff I was routinely picking up at level 45 prior to the patch. I've got dozens of level-270 items I saved as forging components, which I'm still afraid to use because I don't know if I can readily replace them -- all I see are green items in the 140s to 160s and the occasional 240 epic, all of which I scrap on sight. Is this reduction in reward levels intended or permanent? Another factor I've noticed, which ties in with the overall degree of reward from patrols, is that the number of ads Freeblade is willing to provide has fallen considerably. Before Thunderstrike, I could reliably play 10 patrols with two ad plays per patrol to get blessings; now I routinely run out of ads after just one or two patrols, in a shortage that also seems to drain the pool available for ad-based event plays, salvage teams and repairs. I don't mind playing an ad-based game, but when a dearth of ads threatens to cripple players like this, I think it's fair to again ask that a player who clicks an ad-based benefit button and can't be served an ad get the benefit regardless. After all, the player has no control over whether an ad is available and can only signal willingness to see one. Also, on the topic of blessings, has a max-level lockout for receiving Boost XPs been implemented yet? I'm still seeing them at level 50, which is becoming a greater annoyance when the dwindling ad pool makes each blessing that much more important. And it's not a patrol issue, but just to confirm: the Tier V Event #2 that opened up today has no way to play it once for free or with ad support? I don't see any such button, just a "Deploy (10 Gold)" button. If that's not a bug, how common will these pay-to-play events be? Frankly, I'm not opposed to the concept but I'd appreciate a tally up front of how many people have played, because that affects my calculus of whether I can do anything more than make back the entry fee...
THIS! WTH is going on with the scoring? If this isn't addressed soon you can just keep all my IAP money and I'll move on. We're not getting serious answers to a lot of important questions regarding game balance, apparent rampant cheating, cost vs. reward and other very valid topics. How do you expect to keep us if we don't feel any value from playing?
That 1250000 score had been on the board since the day after the update I believe, but no longer. Not sure what was going on, but this has possibly been rectified by the devs.
How do you even get to play the new chapter? Mine is locked even if it doesn't show any more requirements to fulfill. There is an option to pay 50 gold to open it, but I don't want spend gold if it's not necessary. Is the gold required or is this just some bug?
I didn't have to pay with gold, it just unlocked straight away. How many medals have you got? They are usually required to unlock new sections.
I have quite a lot of medals, I think there's enough of them as it doesn't say I'd need more. But now I just played one patrol and it unlocked so I think it was just some bug.
Was there something I was supposed to do to be able to transfer my progress from my phone to my ipad? I had to remove it from my phone and installed the game on my iPad. On my iPad, the game is starting from 0. The only spot of good news is that I only purchased the start pack and another skin pack so I was able to restore those purchases. However, I've lost all the progress I made beforehand. Do I have to grind out all those stars and patrol missions again?
Lost all progress due to corrupt iCloud save. So yesterday, Freeblade crashed on my iPhone 5. I tried to restart it and it crashes on startup. No worries I think I'll open it on my iPad 3. It crashes at the end of any mission. I reinstall it on my iPhone and restore my iPad's cloud save, sweet I haven't lost progress. But then it crashes at the end of any mission. It then crashes on restart. I reinstall and repeat this process back and forth with my iPhone and iPad 5 times. Then I try a fresh install on the iPhone and don't use my cloud save....game works fine. I reinstall on my iPad and it only has the new iCloud save from my iPhone, but it works. I have lost all progress, I was level 45 with chapters 1-8 all gold and 230+ patrol medals...all gone. I restore purchases and it doesn't recognize any purchases of revive packs and so my loyalty level is now level 2 not 3. I had to purchase another gold pack to get back to level 3 ($4.99). My 280 gauntlet is now level 80 due to scaling to the starting level. TLDR: Be careful using the iCloud save feature as if it corrupts you can lose ALL progress and some of the IAPs you may have made.
I play on iPhone 6 Plus and the only issue I had with game is the last pack gave me a low level fist weapon but I got fast tech support to correct issue. I lost my data once but the iCloud remembered it. I think it helps if you sign in with Facebook as Facebook also seems to remember you progress cause when J log into Facebook it knows my free blade level. It a great game and has gereat tech support!
I'm still lamenting the forge tho. First off, I will say, tho it sounds weird, I do like that it takes 16 hours to forge a high WG item. It feels like effort is being put in, and that you will be well rewarded for the wait. It really builds the anticipation, as it almost always involves waiting until the next day to open your crate and find out what you've got, almost like Christmas Eve. However, the items haven't really been worth the wait. The WG rating is mostly meaningless, as a simple calculation summing all bonuses instead of giving more weight to the most important characteristics of strength and toughness bonuses. The legendaries I'm forging are using up my best epics and other legendaries, but only returning bonuses often inferior to the maxed out rare items I was previously using, over 100 WG lower. It seems like I'm paying for incidentals like shield recharge rate and critical damage, when what I need is strength and toughness. I haven't yet had an armour restoring bonus, which would be ideal. I understand that they can be upgraded further, adding around 35 points to strength/toughness, but once you realise it eventually costs around 2 Million ore to do that, you think twice. For that kind of investment, you need to feel sure that you've chosen the right piece to pour so much ore into for the full upgrade. Has anyone else managed to forge something truly 'legendary' yet?
Still can't get my iPhone to pick up my iPads saved game, they will not fix this and it's kind of getting lame. And yes my cloud saves and drive are on like they should be.
I in all legends the trick is to take two legends and add them to score this boosts the chance of getting a legend to almost 100% if you go useing the all purple or blues rout the orange legend bar is real low. How did I get so many legends they I can fuse them togther? Mostly threw packs a few lucky drops and some savages.
Oh, I'm closing in on 25 million ore and I haven't forged a thing save crap forge-quest gear, because I'm waiting for answers from the developers on three things, mainly points I've raised earlier: When might we see an option to add ore to a forging process for specific item bonuses? Johnny mentioned being able to forge a guaranteed anti-Chaos item for perhaps 15 percent more ore, which is a pittance compared to the other forge inputs I'd be committing blind right now. When, if ever, will patrol rewards be improved from their currently nerfed levels? I may have 30 level-270 epic items on deck waiting for forge work, but right now I can't replace them in patrols or any other regular gameplay mission...which makes me very nervous about using them, especially when the same patrol nerf means my high-Toughness level-250 gear is easily doing the job. When could there be a wargear trading system implemented in Freeblade? I've got recipes for legendaries at this point -- a new gold 350 can be forged with two gold 350s plus four 270 purples, or three gold 315s, two purple 270s and one purple 300 -- but none of them are as potentially efficient as trading one gold 350 for one gold 350 I actually need. Honestly, I think forge times represent a huge opportunity to add flavor to the game; for a character and a system which the forge is conceptually the heart of, there's very little nuance or depth to it. I've been thinking that given the Adeptus Mechanicus reputation in the backstory for obsessing over the creation of wargear, it'd be wicked cool if we could do things to affect items during forging -- even as simple as tapping a bellows in time with machinery on-screen to reduce forge time by 1 minute per tap, say. Heck, given that Freeblade's iOS platforms generally include microphones, the game could even incorporate verbal prayer to the Omnissiah as a means of improving the quality of an item being forged. A few brief examples, from my Imperial Infantryman's Uplifting Primer: Canticle of Appeasement Be still, spirits, I do what I must, Forgive the intrusion, And give me your trust. Catechism of the Machine With your strength you protect me, With my care I repair you, With sacred oil I appease you, Be quiet, good spirits, And accept my benediction. Litany of Durability Machine Spirits, In all your unknowable grace and wisdom, Grant my weapon durability, So that it may serve me, As I serve you, With faith, care and servility. Honestly, this is one of the most frustrating things about forging: blues are generally the tactically best gear level-for-level, with only names and special abilities distinguishing purple and orange weapons. One of the current blind spots I have in forging is that it's difficult to produce high-level blues at this point, because once you add forge inputs that push you to 300 or 350 you're generally forging a purple or orange whether you like it or not. It's possible to get those bonuses on blues, since I have a bevy of 250s with limited versions of legendary/epic special capabilities -- I've attached an image of my best thermal cannon, for instance. Having invested $65 into picking up legendaries for field-testing, it feels like the frontier isn't oranges but these kind of blue/orange fusions: high stats with special abilities. I've got two legendaries I've invested in fully upgrading, a 315 and a 350 with crate-finding bonuses. My somewhat Marxist/post-Toughness take on the game is that absent any true incentive for killing things quickly, the only persistent improvements out there that matter are improving means of production, namely crate-finding and ore production. Armor repair's nice but unnecessary for most work, given that a Toughness build will generally survive and only the new tiered events offer any significant consequences based on the final percentage of your machine's health bar. Nothing forged just yet, but my 350 legendary-salvage buyouts have yielded a few decent carapace weapons -- images attached. I've also got a pair of Thunderstrike gauntlets with a perfect 5,000 damage that one-shot most melee opponents...although I'm curious how easy that'll be if any action is taken to toughen up patrols from their current universal-cakewalk status.
I used to, back when thermal cannons were the only truly viable anti-armor weapon out there. Nowadays I carry an orange 350 meltagun with just under 16,000 DPS, which can cut down a Squiggoth and a Blasta Tank on the same clip...so I carry an ancient level-144 battle cannon as a main anti-infantry patrol weapon, for its 3 percent bonus to finding crates in the absence of anything better. The last campaign, though, I busted out a heavier 315 Shaper of Worlds, with 1200 blast radius and a 10-percent damage bonus against Orks...
