Only about 6 more stars to get on Chapter 8 and I'll be all clear. This has truly been a blast, easily my second favourite GW game to hit IOS. For all the premature complaining about it being a freemium title, I certainly never ran into a paywall.

I would absolutely love to see more content, and the game really needs it to have any longevity beyond attempting Daily Events. I'd also say autocannons need some tweaking as I don't know why you'd ever use one over a rocket or missile launcher. I've seen a few crashes on my Air 1, and a few levels where the screen shifts in a way that prevents success, but overall it has been a fairly smooth experience. Fingers crossed that multiplayer lives up to the polish of the rest of the game.

This is a ####ing Scam guys.............. I got SUPER Pissed when i found out that the Daily event is a SCAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!

The other day i made an account on my GF:s ipad thinking why not practice the daily event before going with my main account at lvl 38??? Yeeeee i did that and found out that Pixel toys are pretty stupid. With my GF account i got totally different monsters.... and alot more of them. With my main i couldnt even get close to half the points because of different monsters.................. This is ridiculous why even have a competion mode with good rewards if its all random????????????????????????????????????????

I think ill demand a refund.

Really? The point of a daily event/competition is to make players compete on an even ground, even level, with the same exact setup/enemy placement etc. to compare skills. If what you said is real, Pixel Toys should apologize and... I don't know... Holy... Are you sure it was the same event and not near the end/beginning of a old/new one?

Im sure. Just played the event. With my GF:s ipad i had Orc Bomb planes and buggies, with my main char and my ipad those buggies and bomber didnt exist and wasent even replaced by anything.

So yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee they are screwing people over trying to get gold from players who think they are good and can beat most players...... But they cant since they didnt get the same monsters as some of the top 100 players....

I've been (pretty) consistently top 1% or top 10%. Couple of events, I've come top 60% (usually where I just can't puzzle out what's going on - jungle / Orc levels, usually). I've frequently come out top 250.

Tbh, I just can't see how this would work as an incentive. Costs escalate ridiculously fast. 20 gold first replay, 40, 80, 160 (I guess) for the next three?

Who's going to take that on, who wouldn't've been spunking gold left, right & centre anyhows? I've currently got >900 in the bank. Tbf, most of that came from two early IAP buys, but nowt since. There's just no incentive to spend much gold unless (imo) you've got abysmal impulse control, or a vastly misguided sense of your own potential on a given level. (If you're not getting close to the top 10% after three tries and have no history of any success whatsoever, why on earth would anyone keep plugging away?)

Ye well if that aint the reason i dont see why they would screw us over with an unfair daily event? I mean what would they gain from doing this? Ofc it would eventually be known that Daily events are basically a random non competition event. Well if u get the right monsters then ye u probably need to play decently to get top 100 but u get the point.

I for one was thinking of spending some gold if i couldnt get top 100 today since i want the sword... But now i know i have 0 chance of getting top 100. otherwise i might have spent gold.

Placing in the top 1,000 has, iirc, often put me in the top 1%.

In that context, no offence intended, but I'd have to be a statistical idiot to think I had a credible chance of landing the top 100. Without an absurd outlay.

Tbf, I'm a (very) part time statistician (and only in the social sciences, so not hardcore stats). Still. I suspect there aren't *many* statisticians who'd be gunning for that top 100 as a matter of "skill".

Not unless they had a spectacular track record, or very deep pockets.

    Tips?

What's your process for breaking that high? I've done countless daily events where, for example, I get like 60k points, in the top 25%, but the top guys have like 300k+!! I'm thinking in my head, we all play the same level, same loadout.. how is this even possible?

One of the big things is learning when a melee enemy is coming. You want your score multiplier as high as possible, and then you want to hit a critical and get an execution. This alone can make or break a high score placement. Sometimes its tricky though as multipliers drop extremely fast when you stop killing. Thus you need to learn the stage on the first run, and on the second, you need to time finishing off certain enemies to narrow the gap become moving from one area into the melee fight.

Another tip is to learn EVERY destructible. You need to know what can be destroyed and what can't. This is hardest in the jungle, which has identical objects that can/can't be targeted. For instance, you can shoot metal plates off of walkways (both sides), but not off of anywhere else. Destructibles can ramp up score multipliers and also slow them down when they start to drop.

When you see troop transports, it can be worth it to let them drop troops off, then destroy everything in one go.

So I now have every star in the game except for 1 in The Trees Bleed: Slaughter, and 1 in The Trees Bleed: Storm. I've been close, but I hate that this stage needs everything to go ridiculously perfect to get a 3 star score. The stage is so quick, and you move through it so fast, that you basically have to target at the last second to keep the multiplier up, and often the impact doesn't work as intended off screen. Anyone figure an easy way to finish up these stars?

Yeah. Basically. All of ^^^ that.

IME, the trade-off between time bonuses (and ranged kills on potential melee enemies) and execution bonuses heavily favours execution.

Still unplayable on my iPad mini 2. Crashes during tutorial mission every time. Works fine on my iPod Touch 6th gen. Need an update for my iPad.

I just discovered yesterday that my forging level increased from 200 for blue items up to 225. I already 3 star all the campaign so the only explanation I can see is my higher number of patrol medals.

I currently have 196 patrol medals and 363 campaign medals.
Anyone with higher number of medals abme to confirm the impact on forging level?

Also 200+ blue light and cc weapon are much better than any 200+ purple weapons because of very low domage output on purple items.

Same max forge level as you. Think we'll have to wait for an update.

I didn't realise about the blue weapon damage though

Any chance of a test on blue vs purple?

Purple tend to come with stat boosts, no? If so, my assumption was that these'd offset any losses elsewhere; but would welcome being proven wrong (particularly given the ease of crafting blue items, and their particularly... funky... relationship with the forge)

Just ot give you an idea:
Melta blue level 200: domage 7411
Melta blue level 225: domage 10381
Melta purple level 204: domage 5345

cc weapon blue level 210: domage 3065
cc weapon purple level 216: domage 2124

I got trouble in cc with lord of skull and drake level 40+ with my level 216 purple sword but once I crafted a 200 blue sword every cc fight has become a piece of cake...

Geez... sounds like it's back to the drawing board and forge a set of Blue weapons instead of Purples... think I'll give that a pass and take dropping Freeblade into serious consideration.

The other one being WH Quest, I hope! ;)

I'm slightly embarrassed to say that I think being freemium was the right decision for this.

    I've never said that before!

Imo it says something pretty admirable about the extent of their mercenariness that when I looked at the "top grossing" games list last night, iirc this was coming in c.137th.

(Assume that doesn't include ad revenue. But still!)

    Interesting (!)

Had been planning on a few gold runs at salvage teams over the next week or so (300g a pop, one legendary, one purple, one blue apiece), but may now reconsider (again!)
