Might already be obvious but the supply crates and items in the iap packs are relative to your level. So if you buy a pack at low level, you'll get low level legendary items. Might be worth waiting until you're >20 lvl
I'm L21. But, tbh, assume that the upgrade treadmill is effectively never ending - if I buy them now, they'll become defunct; just as the pieces of kit I once had are now defunct. Edit: lazy of me not to check (!) Epic crates are offering me a minimum of 126 WG rating. Tbf, I've clearly had some work done since last I checked. Looks very likely it'd work out as an abysmal deal. Some nice pants and a shiny helmet would be a bonus. Somehow can't see that happening, though. Which makes me still more curious about better ways of using gold. The alternative being that I hang onto it until my wargear does lag behind :hmm:
@Quoad: I'd save the Gold, unless you prefer to not grind/replay missions to upgrade "naturally". I'm level 21 as well, my gear looks pretty similar to yours. I think yours is better, actually. So far, I'm not planning on spending on Supply Drops. I have a huge bunch of missions on Tier3 to play, and even some Tier2 left to 3-Star. When I'm done with that, I'll see what my equipment looks like then. Sidenote: If you have someone as Gamecenter friend, it seems you can check their loadout. Just in case you want to add me, send me a PM (I check GC maybe twice a year, so I wouldn't see a friend request anyways ).
What would you save it for? I'm not seeing much that pushes my buttons atm! I think this is one of my weaknesses - I tend to hoard premium currency, and end up (when I finally stop playing a game) with an absolute tonne of it unspent
Same here At the moment, I can't even guess what the maximum level would be. Maybe somewhere around 50? As the Supply Drops seem to scale with your level, personally I'll wait till I absolutely need something better and it doesn't look as if it's within reasonable reach with normal gameplay. I still have 300 Gold to go for the 900 to get 3 drops, so I'm in no rush anyways
I cheated on both gold and wargear - bought the first two IAPs, which did give me a leg up (and 500 gold, iirc?) Have been surprised at how freely the gold has subsequently flowed - 50 for forging 3 carapace items, multiple 20 gold drops, etc. Will be curious to see how high the levels go, and to see if I stick with it that long
Best guess would be "killing lots of people in a short time." Will try to find out Possibly helped by rockets, if nowt else works?
Tell me about your weapon preferences, people. What, and why? I have strongly defaulted to one weapon set for an absolute age. I find anything else (in daily events) really irritating. Challenge my prejudices! Light weapon: melta gun. Heavy weapon: battle cannon. Mounted weapon: missile launcher. Reasoning: this gives me kick-ass light weapon effects against armour (and that can still efficiently target eg individual rocket launcher infantry); very effective heavy weapons that swiftly take out large cohorts of foot soldiers; and a carapace weapon that is still darned useful against final bosses and, tbh, any massed armour / infantry.
The curve seems to level out. Once you've completed chapter 8, you're limited by a forge level of about 198 purple. Then you can upgrade that to item 222. As the forge doesn't increase with level, I'm assuming items will be max around ~222 until a new chapter is launched. Ps - as your level increases, so does supply drop level item. But again it's limited by the forge. For example: a supply crate when you're level 32 offers level 192 items. But I can still only upgrade those to 198 because my forge is limited.
I was struggling with Helldrakes and Lord of Skulls until I upgraded my melee weapon. It seems the melee hit box is dependant on the power of your melee weapon, and an upgrade can increase the box size by a substantial amount.
Anyone know what the item stats are doing, I didn't find any information on force and resist. For the moment I'm just assuming higher level items are better but could be nice to know which stats is doing what to better compare. Thanks!
Force and resistance? Sure you're talking about freeblade? Oh, are you playing a translated version in another language? Strength and toughness are the item stats. I think strength increases your damage and toughness reduces the damage you take. Generally higher level stuff is better. The odd time something a few levels lower is better
I'd assumed strength was specific to hand to hand, but would be curious to find a better explanation. Clearly more advantages to toughness if it is (!) Would also love to find total strength / toughness stats. Are they only the sum total of wargear bonuses? Or does a freeblade have a base stat? (Assume not - it can't be improved, can it?!)
I double checked - strength DOES improve all damage. (I did an easy mission and just used my primary weapon, non-crit hits were approx 2,200. Same mission again but changed all my items for lower/no strength items. EXCEPT my primary weapon because I wanted to keep the same weapon damage. My hits were approx 1,500)
I couldn't find anywhere that shows your total stats. You might be able to tell if your strength increases as you level. Just make a note of the damage you do before you level up. Level up and do the same mission with the same gear and see if your damage is higher.
To find your stats. Go to a mission that you have completed and in the leaderboards tap on your name. You'll see everything there.
[TIP] Forge: forging costs , [BUG] Forge Quests [FORGING COSTS]: Something blatantly obvious in hindsight, but I missed it till now, so here goes: The more items you drop into the Forge for a forging, the less Ore you need to pay for it. This even holds true when the item does not add anything to the minimum result. So far, the reduced forging costs are higher than the sale value of items: I currenly sell off anything White, and Greens below WGR 80. Looks like I need to rethink that. [EQUIPMENT STORAGE LIMIT]: I kept hoarding equipment for the Forge, and hit the storage limit a while ago. Didn't count exactly, but estimate somewhere around 50 items in storage. So at some point you have to sell off. And at least for me so far, I have way more spare equipment than Ore. E.g. it's not worth it for me to buy a second Forge slot, because I don't have enough Ore to constantly fill 2 slots. Also, possible [BUG]: I have 2 forging quests on my list now, but only 2 out of 10+ forged items registered toward the quests so far, and I have no idea why. Will write to their Support when I have time.
I can't find that. I can see a leaderboard that shows how many kills I've made or my achievements. But can't see what my stats (str, toughness, crit chance % etc are)
