Any advice on the best way to level a brand new shiny, sanguinary guard? I'm halfway through veteran and my assault troops are a T3 space wolf with the fenrisian frost axe and a T3 ultramarine who is about level 23 or so and is a bit of a beast. Hard to see how to fit in the sanguinary guard without blasting through normal first? Not a bad problem admittedly!
Advice PLea Right, advice time please. I may well have just dropped a few pennies and bought some packs. I previously only had 1 Ter 4 (Honor Guard) and was running Ultramarines with a blood angel champion tactical (I picked up a Firescream along the way). I now have 2 Sternguard and 2 Honor guard and a Tyranid War Vet so I am reasonably balanced on the tier 4 front. My preferred team so far has been 1 assault, 2 devastator and 2 tactical. I think that my "best" team would now be Ultramarine Honor Guard Ultramarine Tyranid War Vet Sternguard 1 x Ultramarine Champion Devastator (with tier 4 plasma cannon) 1 x Ultramarine Veteran Devastator (with tier 4 plasma cannon) I really rate the tier 4 plasma cannon. I feel like I need the sternguard because Firescream is such a great weapon. Should I be thinking about going all Blood Angels and losing the tier 4 Plasma. Are hybrid teams as effective as single chapter? Maybe lose the veteran devastator and take a Blood angel champion devastator instead?? I just don't know what to do!
Are you asking if this teams viable? I'm currently playing with 5 assault marines, everything is viable if you tailor your play style to it. I think the 'strongest' team is the 5 Ultramarines with Battle Brothers just buffing each other constantly. But if one team starts to dominate then we'll look to balance either with buffs to others, or nerfs.
I would go to veteran act 1.4. Sub out your least favourite assault marine for the Blood Angel and just crack on. Do not equip him with tier 4 weapons to start with, I'd say keep it tier 2. For me 1.4 has always been the safest farming level. Your marines all stick close and can cover each other with ease so you can protect a new marine.
Depends what you build for! If you don't have any of the chapter buff abilities then there is little benefit in going all in on one chapter.
Whenever I get a new marine I want to add to my regular rotation I'll head to 1.4 or 2.2 for a bit to grind out some XP. At bare minimum I want to unlock the first war gear slot, one of the defining atributes that's powerful but relatively inexpensive (such as Bloodlust for the SG) and level up my accuracy by 10% or so (lvl 5 or 6). Then I feel confident placing him in real missions!
5 Assault Marines sounds like a lot of fun, although I prefer to take it a bit more slow and steady through the levels and kill stuff at arms length where possible! I was asking more whether people thought I'd get more value out of a pure Blood Angel team that loses the Tier 4 plasma cannons, or to keep my hybrid team as is. (upgrading the tier 3 blood angel tactical to a Sternguard and the tier 2 ultrmarine tactical to a tyranid war vet..)
Just had a 'quick' go at Veteran 9-2 on the new released version. So far so good, so freaking good. Well....no spoilers but I was TEARED APART at the end of the level...gotta love that 30% regeneration. But hey, at least I heard the VROOOOOOOOOM several times before dying so I'm happy. I can't express enough how much I love this game, Rodeo. Now please I know you are all exhausted but carry on with multiplayer (joking...if things are OK and nothing ugly surfaces in the next days....enjoy some free time, you really earned it).
Wow I tried this out and not only did I get a different piece of loot, I also kept the first piece of loot and all the XP from that mission... Which happened to be a few hours spent on 2.1 while doing chores. How to spend 60k per marine? Sweet!
Thanks for the update, downloading now.Just a heads up for those who might have trouble after updating (and don't know this old but golden windows rule) ALWAYS restart your device after updating something"important".
Thanks for the patch, nice vroom! Just opened 15 packs I saved up. Got not one but TWO Tyranid War Veteran's. No other T4 cards but guess I shouldn't complain. Out of about 90 packs I got 9 T4 Marines, 1 BA Tactical 2 BA Apothecary's 1 SW Devastator 1 UM Devastator 2 UM Assault's 2 UM Tactical's The question now is if I should submit to grind my enemy aquired two UM tactical's and my dupe Assault so I can run an all T4 UM squad. A LOT of hours put into my T3 UMs though..
Yay for the update! I've had some really good luck getting tier 4 marines: Now I have 7 sternguard and 3 sanguinary priests ;-) Has anyone found a good use for the sanguinary priests? I want to like them but they can't do much damage and their healing abilities: -are slow to heal other marines -require not using AP to heal themselves. I thought it could make a good tank, but there are better tanks because the sanguinary priest doesn't counterattack for appreciable damage. Now I can see them being good on a mission where you don't have to hurry, but I find those missions easy anyway; it's the 'defend' missions where you don't have time to allow abilities to reset that I find hard.
@Matt thanks for the info, I want spoilers so I know but I don't so it's a surprise @James I'm wondering the same re 'healer tank', I'm levelling one in case they're good for multiplayer.
People, if you like what you see I would kindly remind everyone to leave a new review on the AppStore, as the updates reset the stars thing. It can mean everything for (relatively) small dev studios. Personally I just did it (5 stars for me).
