Actually, this is exactly how I beat the last mission on my first two playthroughs. The last two rooms are the only two I do it on, but just get the big guys to chase you around the pillar in the middle and get them close to the explosion. Stun grenade and take off. Explosion 1-shots them with 53k damage.

Just a note on something I found while messing around with strats: the red stripes indicating where the explosion will be do not cover the entire bottom of the map, they only go 5 or 6 spaces. Don't be fooled! You run past them and you will surly die ;)

How can you tell how much damage something does? The only way I can tell is by looking at before and after hp results. What am I missing?

There's combat text which appears everytime something takes damage.

Have you ever been to the grocery store, you're looking for an item, but you can't find it anywhere? You ask for help from one of the employees, they come over, and point out the item which was right in front of you the whole time? Yeah, that's how I feel right now. I don't know why I'm looking in the wrong place, but I honestly don't see any kind of combat text. I'll look harder, though.

The combat text is pretty darn small.

    Great news!! :)
Wouldn't it be too late if something wrong comes up now that it has already been submitted?
I'm just curious to know the details of how it works. In case you'd find out some new issues, would you have time to submit a new version before the already submitted hits the store? Or at least stop its release?

The way it works is; You submit a build to apple. Then wait for approval. Once it is approved it is now ready for release and it is up to the developer to decide when to make it public. If, for whatever reason, the developer does not wish to make it public they can leave it, make a new build, submit again and repeat the process.

    Oh, now I see.
You could send it ahead of time and make final tests while waiting for approval, so when it finally lands and every test was fine, you can deploy it immediately.
    Thanks for the info ;)

Never noticed those tiny red numbers coming out from units when something hits them? That's damage.
Like when you see "missed" in case, well, someone misses ;)

Okay, I do see tiny red numbers now that you mention it. Like, I often see a series of what looks like 8s when I hit with a flamer. But they're so tiny and they flash by so quickly, they're not all that helpful. I've NEVER noticed them on anything but flamers. I'll have to look closer.

The only way I know if something hits on the enemy turn is if the soldier shrugs it off like he's been hit, or the missed message appears and he stands there stoically. Heck, on occasion the action isn't even on the screen.

Anyway, now that I know to look for tiny red numbers, maybe I'll be better at catching it.

Yeah, sorry about that RodeoMatthew. No, not trying to troll, although I am a sarcastic wanker by nature. In this case I was being entirely --- and stupidly --- sincere. The device I'm playing on is a iPhone 6+. I started out on a iPad 3, but after emailing you, you politely replied that iPad 3 is not supported. Then when I looked at the notes in the app store, there it was in black and white, first line. iPad 3 not supported. So, as you can see, I'm often not exactly the most observant fellow.

We do, but we're always working up to deadlines and the game is over 40 hours long so its hard to test, the entire campaign, all abilities, all wargear, all areas of all maps.

The problem with compatibility list being "corrected" with added lines in the "Description" box seems caused by the fact that it's not so simple changing the list of compatible devices as it is modifying the description of an app.
I think that the compatibility list is automatically generated by the compiler according to the devices selected in the SDK. So, once a developer has sent an app to Apple, they can change that part only by submitting a newly compiled version, with only the right devices selected, while changing the text that goes into the description box is a more straightforward matter.
That's just me speculating though. Maybe HazeTI or MatthewRodeo can give us more details on how it works.

Apple don't allow filtering by device, they allow filtering by category, iPod, iPhone, iPad, Retina etc.

I didn't mean to suggest the description was changed. I meant to directly state that I didn't look close enough. It was entirely my fault, with no intent to assign any portion of the blame to Rodeo Games, who I think are completely and utterly awesome, and will always get the benefit of the doubt from me.

Question about the"blind grenade":does the -2 AP stack on the -2 of the gravity gun and/or another blind grenade?

I can tell that the blind grenade and the grav gun stack. Done that before and it works!

The best is when the carnifex is immune to crit, stuns you and regens 30%HP per turn

Grav gun and stun/blind grenades were my winning combo on my first play through. Too bad that the grav gun doesn't stack. But if it does it would be overpowered, I think. Would be cool nevertheless...
