@r:kidd great write up, nice one. @RodeoMatt I'd been wondering and trying to do the maths to see if Ultras and their team buffs are going to be too op for pvp, what's the crack there then?
Not that there is a plan to implement a crafting system or there ever will be but... What do you guys think of the ability to unlock a "Forge" for crafting available through IAP for item creation and a "Barracks" for marine creation? They would allow you the ability to craft items and draft marines for RP, or conversely a point value could be associated with each tier card (1 point for tier 1. 4 points for tier 4) and new cards could be bought with points acquired from destroying pre existing items for points? I'd like to see a crafting system develop and would be content with paying for it, considering the financial impact it could have. Thoughts?
Looking for weapon suggestions for a Sternguard. Currently using a tier III flamer. Input is appreciated. Thanks
please amend spreadsheet. Found sage of ironwolf in Veteran 7.3 while farming for firescream. havent seen firescream yet. @Lickzy, i have Forgebane (Melta) on all 3 of my sternguards. Been promising so far. especially with 5APs (6 if you burn 20% health which i do) running right into the fog, using Oaths of Angels and Oath of vengence and the +40% damage skill and then Black Raging. Works pretty well all the way into late stages of veteran. Still working in early heroic.
I have about a dozen Forge Banes but have been really put off by the short range... The single volley also makes me nervous as my accuracy would be low 80s and I'd find myself in a "hit or miss" situation... Sigh. Definitely appreciate the suggestion though... Anyone else?
Same thing happened to me. I've already put the Sigil on Heroic earlier. Not sure about Veteran though. That mission is just so hard to grind.
Moloc's Gift? I am currently running the T3 Melta while I wait for the T4 BA one (yet to see if it drops from a mission).
Crit immune carni in heroic. I hope I don't meet one... With 30% heal per turn, u'll need pretty strong non crit damage
The only thing that I could think of, other than hunker down with powerfist, is the first company relic.
Have 3 of those relics after plenty of farming... Pretty disappointed they aren't "passives". Someone pls confirm existence of T4 BA melta from vet 7.3. Also if possible screenshot of the damage range will be greatly appreciated.
They arnt? Damn. They will still be good early on where you only really face 1 large enemy at a time.
A Powerfisted assault with the Cleave ability and damage boosts will hit the Carnifex twice due to it occupying more than one slot. Should be hitting for 4-6k non-crit. I've one shotted non-crit immune Carni's in Heroic (40k HP). You just get used to facing them like anything else.
I apologize for being dense, S3Styles. I appreciate the information very much, because I never thought about a cleave hitting a carnifex twice. But how are you getting 4-6k non-crit, math wise? I don't doubt you. It's just beyond my expertise, and I was hoping you'd help me a bit to wrap my head around that. Also, one shotting a 40k hp Carnifex is crazy. I thought I was doing well one shotting 7k hp with my plasmas.
If you factor in other buffs, like 40% damage increase with -10% accuracy (can you use more than once a turn?), maybe the First Company relic (100% more dmg to large units). straight out there you have Damage*140%*200%*2(cleave). assuming a fist with 440 avg dmg, thats 2.5k or so dmg non crit. factor in passive 15% damage increase to melee, Assuming S3 is talking about SW Assault, it also has a 20% dmg increase to large units as skill. Purity seal for melee another 15%?? Not sure if its going to be multiplicative. If it is, that brings the damage to about 4k. Not to mention there is still one more free relic slot.
Firescream definitely drops off Vet A7M3. Took me 5 runs to see one, though results will vary. Damage range is 139-169. It is vastly superior to Forge Bane in every aspect if equiped on Sternguard/BA. Has anyone seen Fire Pelt or Medusa drop from any missions? Those 2 weapons elude me and would cap off my current team's weapons needs.
Thank you very much Jorge. That is great news. 2 more range, 10% more accuracy, 5% more crit and 50% more crit dmg... not to mention higher damage range... OMG! giving up 15% dmg mitigation isnt that big a deal really when a badly positioned unit dies so fast that 15% isnt going to matter. Back to grinding... need 3... count.... 0...
