I'm torn between playing this on my iPhone 6 plus or iPad 4, suggestions? Just scared it'll eat eat eat my battery but it runs much better on my phone.
How do I check unit class bonuses from the inventory screen? Do I really need to go into the codex to find out?
equip plasma gun. use ability to transfer unused ap to your next turn. use that ability and stun granade the tyranid or use gravity gun to slow the sucker down. fire plasma and watch him die! keep some granades ready incase he's still standing after plasma shot.
This is pretty much the opposite of my Kill Team, so I can't really comment on whether it will work or not. I've just started on Heroic Difficultyfor my third play through and I'm running with: Tier 4 Ultramarine Assault w/ Tier 3 Plasma Pistol + Tier 3 Power Fist Tier 3 Ultramarine Devastator w/ Tier 4 Plasma Cannon Tier 2 Ultramarine Devastator w Tier 4 Plasma Cannon Tier 3 Blood Angel Tactical w/ Tier 4 Melta Gun (this thing is insane) Tier 2 Ultramarine Tactical w/ Tier4 Plasma Gun I'm feeling pretty underpowered at the start of the Heroic play through (I did a bit of grinding on Veteran so my team handled the latter half of the campaign without taking any losses). Would welcome opinions from people who have made it onto Heroic. What's your loadout, what works, what doesn't etc? (Oh and Rodeo, wishlist for next big update - Dark Angels, Terminators and Assault Marine jump packs...)
As other people have said, the normal play through is absolutely critical in terms of levelling up your marines and ensuring thst you have enough decent gear to handle veteran. If you tried to go into veteran with your normal-level marines, you would be destroyed in pretty short order, regardless of how "good" you are at the game. It's not about your personal ability, it's that the game simply won't give you the tools to kill the enemies until you have done the normal play through. You would probably argue that the game should give you the option to go into veteran mode with appropriate gear, but I personally enjoyed earning that gear in normal mode. I battled through veteran mode and am now starting through on heroic. I've got a pretty well equipped team at this point and my devastators are taking two shots of tier 4 plasma cannons to kill the basic tyranid enemies unless they get a crit! I certainly would not have wanted to skip to this difficulty level any earlier! I feel like Heroic is going to be a long slog, but I am looking forward to it. THE best game I have played on a mobile device to date. Keep up the good work Rodeo!
Having a problem with the game crashing in Act 4 part 1 of veteran, it goes to enemy turn then enemy moving then it crashes every time. I've tried rebooting my iPad and quitting the app i just get back to the same spot every time, I've also tried 'pinching' the screed during the loading screen and the enemy movement phase. Any suggestions? Loving the game so far its so much fun!
My suggestion is to spend time grinding mission 2.1 on normal or veteran if you can handle it. I mean no disrespect but I had a team of 4 tier 4s and 1 tier 3 all geared out on heroic and still had a very tough time in the first few missions. Unfortunately it only gets harder. Put in some time grinding. But major focus was unlocking relevant abilities and all 3 gear slots, followed by accuracy. All those heavy hitter items are useless unless you can actually connect. Stun grenades saved my life on multiple occasions, as did items allowing for damage mitigation. Birth would be the best person to ask as he was one of the first in the world to beat the campaign on heroic. Hope this helps... Sort of
How do you normally farm for gear in normal mode ? I'm kinda struggle since I'm still using those starting bolt guns, not getting lucky with pack at all. Also I read somewhere on the forum about a bug that cause all your packs to give you tier 1 cards only. Can someone clarify this for me ? Thanks
Could someone confirm what the skill "Medicae" does? Does it heal the marine with the skill or other marines?
Early Carnifex encounters can be dealt with by moving your group into areas of the map where the Carnifex cannot get into and then just whittling it down. Some different ways to take them down in the open: - use the damage mitigation abilities or items to make a tank unit/units that draws the Carnifex so the rest of your units can focus fire. - damage stacking by combining items and abilities that give crit and add damage. Plasma gets the most damage per AP spent but past a point other weapons can work. Highest damage I have output is 45k and Heroic Carnifex HP is much lower than that. I'm finding some T3 are better than having a T4 because they have multiple damage add abilities.
I actually preferred grinding 1.4 for XP on veteran - I would average about 2k-2.5k per marine each time through which seemed to work pretty nicely. I've been focussing on Accuracy for a while, my point on the difficulty was more that heroic is a big step up in that it is taking 2 shots (4 AP) from my devastators to kill basic enemies (Hormagaunts). I'm only just into Act 2 on Heroic, so I haven't encountered any of the larger beasties yet on this play through, but I'm sure they're going to kick my ass to start with
I killed Carnifex but not sure how. Im assuming someone landed mad critical because his HP went from 50% to death in 1 turn. Its either tier 4 fist my marine had or one of them plasma shots. Either way thank god its over really thought i wouldnt get passed it. Also i find about grenades that can reduce AP AFTER i beat Carnifex. For some reason i thought it would replace my weapons so never bothered equipping it. Btw i got this weapons called Narthecium that is weird looking melee sword but nobody can equip it. Anyone know whats it for?
Congrats! I kinda felt the same ("thank god!") the first time I beat the Carnifex. The Narthecium is the main weapon for the Apothecary class marines. It's used in melee attacks.
Yeah, it seems like 5 isn't enough to be worth it compared to accuracy. 10 maybe, for an assault/tank. It's not very much... As for crits, it's better to have mor accuracy so you can use tier four equipment which has better crit percentages and damage anyway, not to mention that if you miss there is no way you are getting a crit! I've read a lot of similar sentiments and cannot help but wonder why rodeo designed it this way, it seems less balanced then everything else.
I don't think "less balanced" is the right way to think of it. As a long time WoW player, it was always the rule that before you boost damage, you always max hit. Once you eliminate your chance to miss, then crit and HP are something to dump points into. All that to say: it's not "worth it" until you hit 100% accuracy, but then the value of additional hit % is zero, so it becomes "worth it"
It's not worthless at all. Enemies can dodge, so you definitely can miss even with accuracy higher than 100% (as some have already reported)
