Wait for him to come to you and then light him up with plasma weapons, it's a bloodbath!

It doesnt work. I can get him to 50% at best but after that he destroys entire team in 1 turn. Cant even run away as he always catches them. Im assuming i need to farm for better weapons and characters?

Grav guns or stun grenades to lower its APs are highly recommended.
    Then use plasma guns.
As Phoenix said, first turn put your squad in overwatch and let it come to you, so you take away some of its health.
Then use grenades/grav gun to limit its next actions and use the plasma charge from your plasma guns: using it with full AP deals a lot of damage.
If you have marines with skills/wargear that grant additional AP, the better, since more APs mean more damage for the plasma charged shot. If you don't kill it in one round, limiting its AP for next turn is fundamental, so it can't tear open all your team and you have another full round of attacks, which should shut the deal.

Have been enjoying the game and have yet to have any of the bugs reported.

I might have found a bug or glitch as follows: I have renamed some of my marines. Earlier today I was renaming one and erased the current name just fine but then I hit OK before putting in the new name. Now I have a marine with no name. I cannot open the field where the name goes.

Guess he'll just be my Clint marine...

You may need to level up a bit. I was fortunate enough to one-shot him with a marine that had the Preparation skill and Plasma Cannon equipped. Use the prep to gain the max of 8 AP for next round. Then use the overcharge on the plasma weapon and cross fingers hoping it connects. I also had a marine with a Grav Gun on overwatch to reduce Carnifax AP when he appears and moves in range. Hope this helps!

For the Carnifex, probably not. Better characters/weapons could be nice, but in this case not as much as others. When you first see the Carnifex, do not go towards him; instead, fire any guns in range and position any non-plasma on overwatch covering his approach. If you have any stim packs, you should take them as your items (regardless of their level) because aside from the carnifex, there's nothing challenging at all. *he runs towards you six spaces*. At this point, your guys should all have been positioned to shoot where he is right now; you don't want any melees in base to base with him, but it's not the end of the world if you do. Each plasma gun needs to fire its charge-up shot special ability (not overloading does a lot less damage). Use your stim packs on plasma guns either before they fire, to increase the shot to 8ap, or afterwards to get a second overload from someone who didn't overheat. If you have anyone with adrenalin rush at this point, use it (and any other special abilities, really). It doesn't take more than lvl1 plasma guns to pull this off (you'll want a couple of them though; you can get them as the award for mission 1-4, as I recall). Make sure you do not put your plasma guns on overwatch, as this may cause them to overheat next turn (and it is imperative to have them available to fire). Good luck! If you don't have stim packs, you may need more plasma guns/to unlock something like adrenalin rush.

Thanks! I've backed up everything alright. The iPad is still playable, despite a crack on the screen. Shall I get it repaired for $299 or wait for the next generation?

I just got hit by a major bug. I beat a mission but I left my ipad idle so the app closed. When I reloaded it it said I was defeated and I lost all my exp. And to top it off it gave me the mission reward. So much for all that exp.

Unfortunately you just missed the patch that fix this by a couple of days. It should deploy early next week and, as said, corrects this annoying bug along with others.

I think it's sort of funny how the common suggestion to kill Carnifex is plasma overcharge and Grav Guns/Granades.

My style is polar opposite. I get one of my Warriors with Glove melee weapon to get up in his face then i Hunker Down or use the item that gives 100% damage mitigation during enemy turn. Then i just watch as Carnifex always attacks nearest marine, eventually kills himself on my Warriors counter attacks. Works better in higher difficulties because Carnifex gets more energy the longer he's alive.

It's also handy having a few of the immune during enemy turn items for times when you are overwhelmed, just send your guy in the middle of em and hunker down/item up!

That blood angel is almost unkilllable to small size enemies. I equip him with two sigils of untrusting services. But I still have not figured out how to best the larger Tyranids with him.

I didn't figure that out until the very last mission on normal. Guess the powerfist was just not accurate enough until than. And I was desparate. Being one of the T3 guys on the kill team, the champion just had to stand up.

This thread means absolutely nothing until it reaches 40,000 posts, I'm just saying...

Never saw an app ever last this long at #1. That says something in itself.

Let's keep it at #1 until it reaches 40k!

Rodeo should give all active players a bonus when this post reaches 40k, it's only right..,

    Kill Team/ Carnifex

I really like to run a devastator with the tier 2 plasma cannon. Its range is 9, and you can charge it up and use one of the critical boosters and hit for 3000 points sometimes. I've got an ultramarine tier 3 champion that has hunker down, mitigates 90% damage, and the skill the boost accuracy to 100%. He kills all bigs with charged plasma. I've only been playing normal, so I don't know how effective it will be on veteran.

    Couple more for the spreadsheet:

    Macragge Plasma Pistol (T3) - Act 6.1
Lunar Noctis Grav Gun (T3) - Act 6.4

    Both on Normal

Cannot kill the first big boss Tyranid in Act IV Normal. Have fairly decent squad for that far into the game but his swipes wipe out a Marine in 2 clicks. Any hints?
