Does anybody (especially @rodeomatthew) know if the patch is gonna be a delta update or are we gonna have to redownload the whole app?
I`ve encountered very funny and lethal (for my marine) bug. Act 8, Mission 1, Heroic. Tyrant Guard with 2 AP (-2 AP after gravgun shot. It also had Psychic Scream, Synapse from Tyranid Warrior) attacked my (stunned in previous turn) assault space marine more than 15 times. After each of his attacks assault marine counterattacked. That was really odd Gravguns also causes some bugs. For example, Tyranid Warrior with 4 AP moves 2 tiles and gets under fire of marine with gravgun on Overwatch. Now Tyranid Warrior have 0 AP, but it moves for additional 2 tiles. The second bug occurs with gravguns and tyranids with rage (+2 AP every turn) or similar ability (like Carnifex`s +2AP every two turns). If you shot that tyranid with gravgun, it will stay with 2AP, but on the start of his turn he gain 4AP instead 2AP, like there was no gravgun shot.
To be honest what you describe is EXACTLY how I experience the game (last night I was playing in bed and moaning all the time while watching the enemy turn the swarms coming...till my wife hit me). I feel more engaged than playing Isolation....the only other recent 'alien' game that is comparable to Deathwatch in the feelings I get is Deadnauts (a RT game, but if you like 'Alien' lofi hard experienced I recommend it, it's on Steam). I asked too why I couldn't select veteran out of the bat long ago, and I was told that you wouldn't survive 3 turns with fresh marines and low accuracy on Veteran. After having tried that, I have to agree. I know you are very good at the game and you would prefer to see for yourself, but it is how they thought the game. The game is a niche genre but Rodeo IMHO is very good at broadening their odience...so you have to consider that too factoring some choices. As you are at the end of normal anyway, trying a bit more won't hurt, but I suspect if you thought is was SO easy normal, Veteran won't be that hard for you, now that you probably have higher tier items and marines. If you didn't sold them already....try veteran with fresh not leveled up marines and basic weapons...maybe that will be fine for you.
I think the way grav gun works is that it give -2AP the NEXT turn. It shows that those AP have been subtracted the moment you hit the enemy, but the actual effect is applied to next enemy turn. So if you hit a Tyranid with overwatch, in that turn the enemy started with full 4AP, so they can use them all. Then, having been hit by your grav gun, they will get only 2 AP next enemy turn. Following my above reply, it is correct. They should get 6 AP that turn, since they have rage or similar ability, but they only get 4 since you drained 2 AP with grav gun. If grav gun was effective the moment it hit an enemy, it would be useful only in overwatch, since using it in your turn for a direct attack would consume AP from enemies that can't move or attack (it is YOUR turn). Since the effect is applied NEXT enemy turn, using grav guns in overwatch doesn't stop enemies from using all their "usual" AP in that turn. But you're still doing damage in overwatch, so it's still viable since you can potentially kill your target or at least take some of their health away AND next turn they have less AP to spend. Edit: I actually didn't take into account enemies in overwatch, but what I said above still applies if you apply the AP penalty to enemies at the end of current turn (whichever it is) instead at the start of their next. So the cases are: 1. You shoot an enemy in your turn. They get the penalty as soon as you hit them and it carries over in their following turn. So if you hit an enemy that has used up all his AP, he gets the penalty as soon as it's their turn; if you hit an enemy who was in overwatch, the penalty is already in effect, so he has less AP to shoot during your turn AND the same penalty carries over to their following turn. 2. You shoot an enemy in their turn (overwatch). This time, since the enemy started with their full AP, they can spend them all and your hits from a grave gun don't limit the action they are taking that turn, since they started with no slowing effects in place. Instead, if you hit them with an overwatch attack, the will be slowed next time they should act (being that their overwatch or next full turn). In other words, when they move and you attack them from overwatch, their full movement has already happened, you just shoot them along the way. That's why they don't instantly stop moving because they have lost some AP from you attack. Obviously, if a dev will confirm that this is eventually a bug and the enemy should instantly interrupt what he was doing if he gets drained of all his AP with an overwatch attack, you can take all my words and send them down the drain And I will deny ever having said those things
AFAIK, all game/app updates weigh the same as the full app/game. I have just updated 3 apps (50-80 MB each) and the update wa just a couple of MBs smaller than the full app. Delta updates are only for the OS, I think.
If you refer to the Tactical Marine Champion (dude with the wolf head), he really doesn't need anything else. The guy is a monster as is!
Sorry for the delayed answer! Not that I'm aware... Had all my other ducks lined up on the skulls. Even tried moving them around to other skulls or beyond the line. In the end, I decided to let them cook. Funny thing: when they all died, the game still asked me to End Turns. Maybe you actually nailed it and the guy I presumed dead dropped out of the play field... In the end, I had to quit the mission. No way in hell I was going to waste precious play time for a few compromised XP!!! On the plus side, everyone made it on my next play through!!!
I would like an option to increase the difficulty when I want as well. Considering they did a linear level selection rather than open world, you'd think you could at least redo stages at the next difficulty. In other words, once I beat a stage on normal, I should be able to try it on veteran, and then heroic. The difficulty select is right there each time you pick a stage to redo, let players use it!
I currently roll with an all Ultramarines Squad, two assaults one tactical and two devastator's. I would really like to try that one, I know roll with the T3 one, works well enough with the T4 plasma. But as always eager for something more If only I could trade him for my two T4 BA Apothecary's that's lying around in my armory..
Having just drawn the t4 Ultra Assault, is he worth taking if he's not with other Ultras? Atm I've a team of t4 Bloods and the t3 wolf assault with the t4 wolf only weapons so using the Ultra while getting no Ultra benefits seems a bit of a waste. I'm thinking best to save him for an Ultra majority team?
Just picked this up. Finished the first three levels and really enjoying it. Can't wait to see what's in store.
Ouch!!! Sorry to hear!!! What happened???? Can't you even access it from a PC? You can extract the save from your recent backup and reinstate it on another backup eventually, I can provide all the infos.
The game is a lot of fun, I enjoyed it for a couple weeks. I recommend not buying or opening any card packs until the game is patched. Currently there is a bug which can reduce the quality of cards below what's advertised. Enjoy! The campaign and story are quite rich and the environments are beautifully designed
I have just completed Acts VII and VIII and have received nothing but tier one weapons including 4 infernos pistols and 3 flamers. Am I just unlucky? I purchased 4 packs and earned around 20 but still waiting for that elusive tier IV marine . @Matthew can you confirm whether the update fixes any balancing on items earned & marines in packs? I know about the tier I bug being fixed. Before I tackle the final act I think that I need to level my team more. Can anyone suggest a level better than A1M4 for XP grinding on normal? This is definitely my GOTY so far, but it's killing my battery #
