Oh, so you're saying that crit damage % is ADDED to base damage?
Shouldn't it read +XXX %", then? Just like crit chance an accuracy are added to base marine stats.

I tried this about five times with no luck. In one instance an enemy fired on my squad that didn't in any other of the attempts but they all still ended up in freezeville.

Please fix immediately if not sooner.

This is a great game but not worth any of my time if I risk loosing out on XP and a half hour on buggy crashes.

I can see your point but, you should not be able to go into a "fake" overwatch because that is what is happening.

I guess perhaps the devs should lock out overwatch when the bonus AP is the majority in the pool.

FWIW, most games resolve timing issues FIFO, not FILO precisely because it's obtuse and counterintuitive. That said, regardless of their intent, the game very much implies the opposite. Allowing the player to enact overwatch is inarguably a bug if resolution is working as intended.

So, I brought it up again because having been around the block in strategy games going back nearly 30 years, the *implied* function and his stated function are at odds.

His stated reasoning: it's not meant to boost overwatch should mean you can't bump your marine to 6AP, go into overwatch and have 5AP to react with. Assuming that rationale is in effect, you would then drop to the usual 3 remaining AP. However, spending your natural AP because you already used your bonus AP in-turn is arguably not in any way "boosting" overwatch in spite of your readiness to agree with an not at all objectively clear explanation.

C.Hammum understands it. For all intents and purposes intuition and logic dictates that you won't lose your remaining AP at the end of the player turn. Given that overwatch can be engaged also leads to this belief for the common user, up until you realize that overwatch is not shooting at anything. For all tactical games that I've played, the bonus AP or equivalent is expended first, base AP shouldn't be deducted first.

Step away from the idea of boosting overwatch on purpose and look at it from a pure AP perspective. It's not about boosting overwatch specifically.

Yeah the very same thing happened to me, and many else I guess. You're gonna love the feature of enemy active skills later.

I have a similar issue, but slightly different. The enemy phase begins and then the game just disappears into the background - I'm at my 6plus home screen suddenly. I can flip back to the game, which begins loading my saved game ( which was on 4-3 I believe - catacombs), begins enemy movement phase and then I'm dumped to the iOS home screen, rinse and repeat ad infinitum.

I ended up abandoning the mission to get out of the infinite loop, but I didn't realize that I would not only get no experience from that mission, but that ALL my saved experience was wiped from my marines :( I just wanted to get out of the infinite crash/load loop... having all my saved up XP wiped just ruined my evening. Is that what always happens if you quit a mission?

Anyhow, I hope this is related to the other enemy phase bug you speak of. I'll try that zoom-in solution if it happens again before the patch.

Got busy last few days so little playtime but I'm always anxious to get back to the game, that's how you know a game is awesome: can't stop thinking about it :)

Yeah, 2.1 was so easy to farm XP in normal when you had good gear and semi developed marines that I could do it on auto pilot.
I didn't realize that it would be so much more difficult in veteran and almost got wiped out too.

If I need to farm XP to level up n00bies, I'll stick to normal :D

As Pitta keeps repeating, it's amazing how new and fresh the far feels in veteran due to new abilities from the Xenos, them being tougher and spawning more. Even if you play the same maps and missions, it feels like a new game.

Speaking of that, and not to to repeat myself, I'm feeling VETERAN is actually THE GAME, with normal just a long tutorial to familiarize with marines, first skills, gears and different weapons.
Just an appetizer....really just the first 1/3 of the game (and this explain well why you do not have all that much higher gear in normal).
    The real meat comes later.
They should even state this more IMHO...people thinking that completing the game on normal is everything they can see in the game but some harder levels are really missing out.

Act 5-2 was giving me problems in veteran...I redid the mission several times and changed a ton of configurations and load out before completing it...so I was able to notice the greater variability even in the very same mission...being able to notice they even CHANGE the skills of the xenos sometimes (they aren't always the same nor its applied to same xenos every time).
So sometimes a tyrant guard has a stun skill if in line of sight, sometimes he does X6 damage after 4 turns, sometimes he gets boosts if he sees a xenos diying....and this fundamentally changes the approach you must have to succefully complete a mission.
Many times already in veteran I approached a mission confident (oh, this is easy!) only to be teached the hard way that the life of a space marine isn't that easy.

    Pure awesomeness.

Does anyone have tips for team build? Is going single faction optimal and what is the best faction skill/gearing wise?

This is exactly what i wanted to get to but the game will not let me.

The devs saw my post. They did not explain why they would force players to play through a difficulty level they don't want to play through.

At this point I won't play any more, unless I am stuck somewhere with only my iPad and time to kill.

This game should have you scared to turn a corner with only one AP left. It should have your heart pounding on overwatch hoping the swarm stops. It should have you pull back out of a room when you discover the bad guy swarm waiting. It should have you reaching to the extraction point with a sliver of your life left being pursued by the aliens.

Instead it is bejeweled. It is Farmville. It is lukewarm soup that you are trying to finish so you can get to the desert.

And the pity is it is so easy to fix. Just let players who want the challenge pick their difficulty levels. That's it. Why can't this be done?

    Such a waste.

I checked the codex and Space Wolf Champion (III) on their codex page two only has 5 "skills" you can buy. Every other Champion has 7. Has anyone else noticed this? Is this intentional?
