just got my whole B team of space wolves wiped out in 4.2 mission veteran (The Bridge), at least 20k XP. Enemies kept spawning front and rear. Not sure what I did wrong, except I should have been running for my life, and maybe leaving one dude behind to sacrify himself so others could escape. I tried that in the end but it was too late, even Jon The Cub Snow, my tier 3 killing machine died a few tiles from the extraction point, burnt alive. Before that, Arya inadvertently killed Rob trying a desperate axe move ability to fiinish the hive guard in front of them. she forgot the ability attacked everybody near her. She died the next turn. Tywin and Eddard died on the bridge earlier. I'll try again with my only other tier 3, and other more advanced marines :/
Any chance that the expansions may include other xenos races like eldar / dark eldar / tau / necrons / orks ? Love that this game is tyranids and not the usual space marines vs orks. Just thought it may be fun to see some campaigns with other enemies for variety
The marines not being the right chapter is fixed in the patch 1.1 Multiplayer is Marines vs Marines, we toyed with the idea of Tyranids but ultimately, the multiplayer maps are specifically designed for Marines vs Marines. So big units tend to struggle with choke points etc. Then how do you balance someone taking a carnifex in with a wall of warriors and just murdering everyone. We've still a major feature to implement yet. Underestimating the production time of multiplayer would be criminal, and Multiplayer in Deathwatch is a first for a Rodeo title so its something we're wanting to really get right. While people may think "This new feature will take minutes to implement", they rarely do. Before we start making changes to core game mechanics, or redesigning and reinventing existing features, we'll continue to support the game by fixing bugs and working towards our predefined list of features and content. Obviously if there is a huge want for a specific feature we'll take the time to assess the knock on / to value ratio and go from there. Orks is something we didn't want to do, we've had enough Orks from Warhammer Quest!
LOL. Same mission I described yesterday, just with Alien names instead of Game of Thrones ones. EPIC They came out from EVERYWHERE. I managed to do the mission yesterday after that with 4 marines...I didn't waste any time in the 'console' bank...but run towards the extraction points as soon as possible, taking the little narrow path on the other bank (I didn't enter the bigger part). Then I relied on skills and stimpacks for extra APs and my mighty assault marine that stood in the middle killing everyone with reaction (in the end he died, but with much honor). Wait for Act 5, it gets even more epic. And for the 'Epic moment' series...I have something for newbies that bought the game recently and didn't try it yet or read the tons pf pages before. Get a tactical marine with the Fire all (or what is called) skill (it is a great skill, many veteran marines have it). Have him in the middle of something surrounded by xenos with a HIGH VOLLEY # (7-9) bolter. Activate the skill and enjoy the epic moment (better if you use a high crit item before that). I LOVE how the animation is continued, with the marine moving from one target to another firing like a madman. The 'epic movie moments' ratio of this game is incredible imho....it's so cinematic. And it's quite an achievement considering it's a TBS game, not a FPS played on a 50 inches TV. Great stuff, one month later I'm still amazed by the graphic and sound design of the game. To think they aren't a over 50 people team makes it even more amazing. BTW, this reminded me something I forgot to 'ask' Rodeo. As your games are so nice, it would be really cool in a update or in the sequel to let the player PAUSE the game during the enemy turn and MOVE THE CAMERA, to capture all those fantastic moments in screenshots.
Hmmm... Crit being one of the three core stats, along with Health and Accuracy, I'd read this as being +40% to your Crit stat. So, in effect, it would translate to a bonus to chance to inflict critical damage. edit: And for the record, I am SO jealous of that Tier IV Lone Wolf!!!
I'm not that into the WH40K lore (I'm more a fantasy warhammer guy, even if I like scifi more than fantasy), but I'm really glad that they went for this darker and a bit less 'over the top' setting. As an Alien (movie) fanatic, I like this choice a lot more. Marines vs Orks is one of the reasons I never really played WH40K back in the days.
Yeah, it's amazing really. I recently discovered there are just 2 guys on graphics. (O_O). I would like to take the chance to congrats with the sound guys too...they are really great. Also...I really approve your choice NOT to go with ORKS!!!!
Apples review times can take up to 10-12 days! But every dev has a few number of expedited reviews that will slip through the review process in less then 24 hours usually. For gamebreaking bugs this is.Don't know if Rodeo will do it this way but i assume yes because otherwise it would mean people have to live with the"stuck on enemy turn" or the "no T2 upwards in my cardpack" for another 8-12 days.Personally i would consider the stuck on enemy thing as"gamebreaking". Question about the end of act 6: Spoiler the mission info says i have to kill a broodlord...is this thing as nasty as the Carnifex?Don't know if i should spend my well saved XP before i enter the mission now and if i should take everything with me that has the name"plasma"on it
I would spend the XP before if you are so concerned It may or may not be nastier Spoiler It's not a nice Xenos, but I think the Carnifex is nastier
I'd vote "not orcs" for the same played out reasons. Dark Eldar skins with cloned marine/xeno skills and I'd happily pay a DL, new maps for a cheeky bonus. Long story short I'd pay DL just for enemy skins over the core game if poss. Tbh I'm sure you guys at Rodeo have got a far more creative roadmap than the rest of us.
About that RP grinding... Just read through yesterday's posts. Yes, all TEN PAGES of them (you can feel the passion, here!). About that RP grinding... I know some people will probably hate me for it, but with the Patch dropping any day now, I thought I'd share my method. It does not abuse the game system in any ways. It is just the most time-efficient way to complete a mission and get your due amount of RP. Between playtime and loading times, if you're super concentrated and never waste a second, you can farm 10RP per 3 minutes on Normal. Never tested on Veteran (I'm on Act VIII right now!). Oh, and before I get started, I shouldn't get credit for this: some guys have sent me quite a few PMs that helped my refine this thing to an art form. If you're one of them and wish to be identified, just let me know! So here goes... Am I the only one here who grinds 2.4?!? In my experience, it's much faster than 2.3!!! The objective is super straightforward: Get the Broodlord Brain to the extraction point! That's it!!! Just the Bio-Sample!!! All the rest of your team can sit tight and play Texas Hold'em. Now, my ideal runner is a Tier II Space Wolf Assault Veteran. This guy has both Feral Agility (+20% chance to recover +1AP per tile moved) and Charge (+2AP but may not attack this turn). I outfit him with any wargear that will grant bonus AP. I used to run with 2 Tier I Oaths of Fervour (+2AP but -20% Total Health), then switched one for a Tier I Stimpack (+4AP but -70% Total Health). Now, I just keep him juiced on Tier III Stimpacks (don't trust the description that says +3AP, it really is +4AP but -30% Total Health). Turn #1: Your Runner grabs the Bio-Sample and hugs the right wall that limits the Space Marine spawn zone. Turn #2: Make a mad dash for the extraction point, dancing between Termagants, Hormagaunts and the occasional Pyrovore. Don't attack anything! Just run!!! You need to move between 10 and 12 tiles in total. Equiped like he is, my runner can move 14 tiles without factoring in Feral Agility. Total playthrough: 45 seconds!!! If Rodeo decides to nerf this, so be it. But the Destiny player that I am really hopes they avoid the whole push-and-pull with players who look for efficiency. I have bought Card Packs before, I plan to buy some more (maybe even lots more when those eagerly anticipated expansions come out!). This method changes nothing to my buying habits! It's just a quick and easy way to get thos last 10RPs you're missing to buy your next pack! Anyway, honour your Chapters, mates!
@RedHanded Using the guy below you can use the same method to complete the map in one turn with 0xp. And/or I use an OP t4 melee to tag along and get the team xp at the same time.
You've clearly got the best weapon in the game already, you need to be using that Fenriusian Frost Axe for that juicy +30% max HP.
@RodeoMatt I've the Axe and Fire Pelt pistol but no Wolf melee to give them to *tears* I'm chasing the Emperor's Maw for my Sang Guard for the +AP for kills stacking with his passive
