It's fixed in the upcoming patch. The game is not running on remote servers, they can't push an hotfix to correct bugs, we have to wait for Apple's approval and download the game's update when it will be available.

I didn't experience it, but what will happen to the players who got t1 only packs? Will there be some kind of compensation for them?

Been there, fixed that ;) Also, overheating prevents using the melee weapon and sometimes you become overheated after a melee attack XD
Just wait for the patch to deploy in a couple of days.

    @RodeoMatt :
I wish there were a trade system too.
Two main benefits for you: it eases players complaints on RNG and allows them to trade duplicates (also allows completists to check all the items on their list without going insane lol)

I know it's not easy to implement and requires a server on your end, so maybe when you add multiplayer, you could consider it?

One simple but effective system to look at, that was used a lot by the player base : Pocket Planes by NimbleBit.
They used Game Center tags, you added them on a list of your "crew". Then the trade was just selecting an item and sending it to the GC name in your list. It cost a few Bux, and was one way only so players had to exchange through the forums and trust each other. it could cost a few RPs to send an item.

I guess they had unique player IDs implemented in the game tied to a GC and handled the trade through their server.
Look at the threads for Pocket Planes, the trading one has 5k posts and the main almost 20k and are still used 4 years later!
They also implemented a very successful trading system in Pocket Frogs, but I never played it.

As Matthew said before, they can't track who got what from packs, be it from IAPs or packs bought with RPs or packs earned through completing acts, so there's no fix or compensation for that at the moment, though I don't know if something about this is being discussed by the devs.

An easy way to apologize for the few bugs they ironed out, would be to give a couple card packs to each early adopter who update imho. ;)

Yes, offering a couple of packs to those who have bought packs could be a solution indeed. I didn't have the problem but I could understand the people who suffered from it being unhappy.

Let's get back to the game, what do you guys choose in general, a team with various chapters or one chapter only?

I plan on doing a Blood Angels only squad as I've discovered Space Hulk something like 25 years ago (damn, I'm old) and this is still my favorite chapter.

Deathwatch does remind me of Space Hulk and I find some of the gameplay changes very good. That's probably the best compliment I can make to your hard work on this game. :)

Yeah, sorry about that. That is a typo that will be fixed in an upcoming update. That item should not be passive but is an active ability that you must use and is active for one turn.

Anything that lists Crit on its own refers to Crit Chance (just as it is listed in your stats). If anything affect Crit Damage this will be explicitly called out.

I don't want to complain all the time. In fact I really love this game, I'm playing it whenever I have time to play.

But - this RNG-thing is driving me crazy... :)

I played the complete campaign on normal and now I'm in act 5 on veteran. So far I have collected 16 from 47 marines. Okay, now you can say, 30 percent of all collectable marines after one and a half play through, that's not so bad...

But think about this: After the tutorial missions I had five unique marines. Then I got a card pack for completing the tutorial and so I started in the game with six unique marines. While is was playing I opened many, many card packs. I didn't count them, but I think I opened minimum 40 card packs (probably more), from completing acts and trading in requisition points.

So, those 40 card packs gave me 40 new marines. But only 10 of them were unique. All the other marines were doubles. Only one out of four marines is a new one and there were only two T3-marines and zero T4-marines. Three out of for marines I got were useless - that's not nice.

When I began to play Deathwatch my goal was to get a every unique marine in the game. But when I look a these quotes I see, that this seems to be quite impossible. You can play it forever (or spend a fortune) and will not get everything. Okay, maybe that is imminent to RNG-driven games, but it's sometimes hard to accept that truth.

Maybe Rodeo can make some changes in the future, so that we have a decent chance to get everything what the codex is offering to us.

Besides that I'm going to play on. That game is awesome, I think I'm mentioned that before!

I am stuck on Act VIII Part 2.
Trying to use guerrilla tactics by dodging and trying to lure my enemies to the mines but it doesn't work.
And they are way to strong to take them head on.
Could you guys give me some advice on how to beat this level or what weapons/stats I would need to have to beat this one?
I went through the other levels quite easy but this is giving me a headache.
    Still playing on normal.

That is the plan, yes. But we're restricted by other things currently. I haven't forgotten about it, don't worry.

Grr! I got straight tier 1's in a pack I paid for.

I'm afraid this is a bit of an angry post but I'm unhappy that the card pack contents are on average worse than intended.

I've probably been unlucky but I find the IAP expensive because almost all packs are 1xtier2 and 2xtier1 so you only get a benefit from a low % of the packs, in particular getting a tier 4 marine in 1/25 packs.
£28 for 8-10 cards with useful contents = effectively £2.80 - £3.50 per random card.

Disclaimer: These figures are just guesses based on my drops.

I also have to agree on the perception of a 'weird' RNG: My first five tier 3 marines were all the same space wolf devastator and I didn't get a tier 4 marine for about 150 packs! Since then the drops seem to have got better.
Possibly just a 'true' RNG at work?

    Anyway, something a more constructive:

    @RodeoMatthew:
To enable people to continue to earn new marines without grinding and to encourage people to replay the campaign with new teams thus increasing endgame content, would it be possible to reset campaign progress?
I'd really, really love this option!

It’s a great campaign and even after beating it three times I’m ready to do it again with all again with a different team, and being able to reset progress would make this a lot more fun and purposeful. Also having to remember the last mission played is a pain ;-)
Maybe even have several campaign save-games the user can name/erase?

I really hope the patch is coming soon. right now I am deadlocked on ipad and iphone by the vicious enemy turn bug. game crashes instantly on the phone after the loading srceen and is stuck on an endless loop on the pad, calculating but never resolving the enemy turn.

Great game nevertheless. in fact it is exactly the game i wanted hunters to be from the start. with the wh40k theme and all. I especially love the sound design and I am eagerly awaiting the promised whirl of the chainsword.

I hope this game will be given many expansions. I want more levels, more weapons, more tyranids....more everything! Deathwatch reqlly quenches my thirst for more warhammer 40k.

As soon as you start the game, during the loading time, try zooming in and out and keep doing it until the beginning of the enemy turn. That's what worked for me, I had the "endless enemy turn" too.

Or you can wait for the patch tomorrow, that works too. ^^

I've been using a Tier 4 Chainsword named Tempests' Teeth which has a passive bonus of +50% damage when target health is less than 50%. The buff icon is visible at the start of the mission with the marine equipped. Sometime later the buff isn't present anymore and the passive bonus from the Chainsword is lost and doesn't work.

Very interesting. I'll pass it on, had you reloaded the game during the mission at all by any chance?

I somewhat concur on the RNG thing, but I think it will be easily remedied.

I actually like the fact of marines and loot randomization, but I totally expect that by the time I completed the game on Heroic (which means I played a lot already, completing the game at least 3 times), I'll have unlocked almost everything (not 60%, more 90%).
Not sure if it's the case or not, we will see.
But yeah, as a completionist I really want to see everything that Rodeo created for the game (because yeah, I find it awesome).

I like the fact I always have something new to look for...actually I was pretty impressed by the fact Veteran feels fresh over normal even if you are playing the same maps...this is due to the new better loot and the aliens skill.
It's great...they hooked me continue playing even if I previously completed the game almost twice (something very few games did in the past, on every platform).
But I would really like to get everything in that codex.

One 'simple' solution would be trading requisition points for specific cards.
Like 100 RP for a single card of your choice instead of a pack of 3 (make that 200 even).
While 'trading' would be nice.....it's a massive effort to implement that in an already made game, so I do not think it's feasible at all.

As getting 100 or 200 RP needs time (and you can't directly buy them), it wouldn't be unfair and someone could get everything by the time he hits Heroic.

The same is valid for a the asked 'codex' of monsters.
While cool...I really like to discover new abilities and such the hard way....encountering them in the field.
So if they manage to put that in the game (or in a sequel) I hope they populate the infos one by one.
IE: a Carnifex entry after I defeated one (only after defeat the tech marines can study the body :p) but without eventual added skills...they should be added after I defeat it on Veteran etc...

As we are compiling 'lists', here is mine.
I hope some are imminent, other are listed for potential sequels.

    1) iCloud (this is mandatory :p)
    2) Not super necessary, but I would like to see my Marine stats during gameplay (notably accuracy, but the whole screen would be better).
I play with my marines always with the same name (even if I swap them) so sometimes I do not remember that 'Vasquez' is not my 100% accuracy killer veteran, he's the new Tier 4 with a lame 60% accuracy.
    3) I really would like a slightly different color for xenos with abilities. Right now I have to tap on everyone to see who is affected and who has the active skill. Sometimes they are a lot.
    4) More campaigns that maybe come with new loot and a new chapter (I would prefer a single iap including everything, over a iap for campaign, a iap for chapter etc...). It would be easier to balance too.
    5) Of course a gentler hit on battery would be great, but I guess this is something to be asked more to Epic than Rodeo.
    6) Cutscenes :p I totally expected to see the Thunderhawk getting the marines out of that shit.
As it's pretty clear Rodeo is the AAA dev team on iOS, they would be cool (I know they are expensive....just would be cool...as are super cool and totally unexpected the chatters between the marines).
    7) A revamped, less pixellated flamethrower effect...(it strikes a bit compared to the cool explosions with volumetric smoke).

I do not have much more to ask to Rodeo, and everything is pretty minor (maybe with the sole exception of iCloud, which should be the standard nowadays, together with achievements, even if I do not care about them).

The game is great as it is (bar bugs, fortunately I have none right now but the minor ones), certainly my GOTY so far and a real time sink.

The thing I'm looking for most now are not new games.
    Just Deathwatch expansions.

I would pay the game price (which is trivial, I expected it to cost much more) or more for 5 Acts campaigns...or 3 Acts campaigns with a new chapter and loot.

I also would like the eventual new campaigns to be higher level.

    Just my 2 cents.

I had great expectations about this new Rodeo game, and they managed to exceed them on almost every field.
This is the scifi TB 'Alien' game I was waiting for since forever.
    And boy, they did deliver!!!
