Thanks to all the team for your work. I was wondering: if someone is stuck with this bug and their last save is exactly in the turn with the endless movement, when the patch drops will the game be instantly fixed or shall we still forfeit the mission (and all XP O_O) and restart it?
I can give you a little run down. There are 4 types of unit in the game, Tactical, Assault, Devastator and Apothecary and each fills a different roll within the squad. When you've got a unit selected in the game you'll see a couple of symbols in the bottom left corner. These show the Unit type and what chapter they belong to. Heres what they mean; Tactical are your bread a butter two handed ranged troops. They can equip two handed weapons such as 'bolters' (the default weapon) Flamers, grav guns and plasma guns. Tactical troops can be identified by the arrow pointing directly up. Assault marines are your sword and pistol wielding melee units. These guys can pick each weapon separately so you can build effective combinations of medium ranged and up close and personal. They are identified by the 'X' icon Devastator marines are your heavy weapons, they like to stand back and fire from a distance. The majority of the weapons available to a devastator cost more than 2AP to use so they are particulary fragile when trying to reposition. They get access to all the heavy weapons such as heavy bolters, missle launchers and plasma cannons. They are identified by the pyramid symbol. Apothecaries are your support units, they are the healers and the buffers, they're also quite efficient at fighting and shooting. Apothecaries can equip any off hand pistol but are the only unit that can equip the Narthecium. They can be identified by their white helmets and also the helix (?) symbol. Within each of these is a 'Rank' of unit ranging from basic (tier 1) to Hero* (Tier 4). The tier 4's are named units that come from elite squads, such as Honour Guard, Sanguinary Guard, Master of Relics etc etc. Tier 4 units are identifiable because they generally look cooler, they have more gold on them, better looking metals etc. Units are also divided into chapters, Blood Angels, Ultramarines and Space Wolves. Here's a quick at a glance as to what the HUD actually is; From left to Right Abilities* - These the the ACTIVE abilities you can use Unit Type - Tactical, Fast attack and Devastator Chapter - What chapter of marine this guy is Action Points - How much AP you have, this guy has 5 total, but has used 2 (grayed out) Health - Current/Max Weapon and Damage - The icon shows what type of weapon (Flamer) and the range of damage it will do Buffs and Debuffs* - Traits and negative effects on this unit *You can press and hold on your abilities to get a detailed breakdown of what they do **You can tap on these to get more information.
The replay system should kick in and fix the issue automatically, you shouldn't have to quit the mission.
Never said im going to bother with refund. Im still going to play it and have fun. Its just going to be one of least played games instead of nmber one like i wanted it to be. If it was however pc 20$ game on steam i would use new refund policy almost immediately after two missions, andi do enjoy rodeo titles.
That's GREAT news and also thanks for your primer on marine types I need an apothecary for my T4 narthecium ^_^
No problem, email has been sent. Keep up the great work. On another matter, I'm not so far off into the game, but are there any enemy units that can steal your AP? Maybe that's what the chrono charm protects you from? "Chrono-something" usually implies some relation to time, which the game translates to AP, so it makes sense that a chrono charm would protect your action points, right? Or maybe not, I'm just thinking aloud... Maybe someone could test it with a grenade?
No problem, let me know if you need anything else. Enemies do have active abilities but they only come into effect on Veteran and heroic. They have things like Swarm and Synapse on Normal but nothing like that will directly affect you (With the exception of Aura of despair) . Did you by any chance throw a stasis or concussion grenade at a unit while standing next to it? The splash damage can affect you also.
I just finished Act V normal and really enjoy and look forward the little free time I have to play the game (vacation with two young kids is so much more work than work lol). Lurking the forum, thanks y'all for the useful information and RodeoMatthew for participating so much in this thread I've been grinding XP on Act 2 Mission 1 successively. It was one of my favorite missions so far so it's cool to grind an easy 10k XP for my space marines in it. With the setup below, I can play without a lot of interaction and do sthg else while the turn passes and come back. After an hour I usually finish the mission and take the XP. The devastator in the middle of the bridge usually finishes of the few enemies that haven't been killed by the overwatch.
Yeah that same exact thing happened to me, same chapter too I think, the first Misson with a narrow corridor on the right? The harmaung(sp) could be targeted but not attacked until I closed the app and restarted. But still losing a soldier for a bit was hairy!
You're talking about the bug, right? If so, nope, nothing like that. When it happened, I think the key thing was that the shadows weren't dissipating as the blood angel walked, until he literally vanished into the darkness, not to be seen again. I was actually fearful that he was gone for good, that he had walked into the twilight zone or something, so I was just glad to see him in the post-mission screen. Hah, that's the mission. Glad that I'm not alone! Yes, it was weird! Not knowing if I'd ever see my marine again certainly turned the tension up. All is well when it ends well, though
Hormagaunt or as we like to call them, Handsmagaunts. It's the only way I can tell from apart from the ranged Termagants.
Sorry, got my wires crossed, I thought when you said is there anything that can steal your AP, that, that had happened to you lol. It's late, i'll see my self out....
Hah, that's fine, you've just probably been working too much. Get some rest so you can be back here tomorrow to indulge our never-ending need for answers
mee to.But i got a nice card pack a few minutes ago with a great (though one legged) T4 ultramarine so i can go to bed quite satisfied
@ChaosProdigy Just got two more tier 4 items on heroic. Act IV Mission 1 T4 Purity Seal - Oat of Resilience Act IV Mission 2 T4 Wargear - Adrenaline Boost
I asked earlier about the rendering being "fuzzy" on an iPhone 5. But would it be different on a 5S, or would I have to switch to a 6 to notice a difference?
I got an apothocary and don't even use him yet he's t2 or 3 I can't remember. So far I haven't really needed it but I have been thinking it would be good to level him up for if I end up needing him as I'm not really keen on devastators although mine has a good ability for large units. The thing that I actually dislike most about the game is the fact sometimes it's hard to get too excited about a new unit, as you spend all your time levelling yours up and then find a new one, but if you want to use him you'll have to spend hours and hours catching him up which sucks. So instead of focusing on one team all through the game you may get a better unit and get stuck grinding to be able to include him or even try him properly.
Can anyone offer some advice for Act 4 Part 4 on Normal difficulty? The carnifex just tears right through my team. I didn't have the greatest of luck with the card packs from completing previous chapters, so my team is pretty much just the starters and a few additional tier 1 or 2 guys. All my weapons are tier 1/2 also. Maybe I don't understand how the carnifex's Enrage ability works, but it appears to just permanently have 8AP per turn and as soon as it get close to me it can potentially kill my entire team in 1 turn.
