Wow, this game is awesome. I must say, after reading the reviews here in this thread, I was on the fence about buying the game. Many complaints about the game being slow, the camera angles, the LOS, etc. Still, it felt like this game had something, so I went straight ahead and bought it. And I'm glad that I did, because deathwatch is really cool. I love the AP system, overwatching while defending a position and laying waste to those xeno-bastards feels really good. I can maybe understand those who complain about the slowness, though I personally feel the pace is just right. And about units blocking Los, I kinda like it, makes the game a bit different, and makes you plan for it. My only gripe would be the camera controls, too fast and a bit frustrating to control, and the isometric view, which I play with because I'm stubborn, but is not really optimized since any high building or wall will block your view. It wouldn't be too bad if the camera was easier to control, though. Anyway, this game is totally worth the asking price, and then some. I actually want to know more about its universe, and now I'm wondering if should buy a novel or something to understand the lore a bit better. Any of you guys have any recommendations?
It's the first time you encounter a Tyrant. Second mission of act vii. 6 retribution points plus one card in five minutes. Throw everything at the boss that is.
One of the tips on the loading screen said you have to complete the whole campaign for harder difficulties.
Love this game. The in game dialogue is interesting. It's a bit slow transitioning between scenes though.
I just noticed some of the Tier 3 Heroes have passives that their Tier 4 counterparts do not have: for example Ultramarine Tier 3 can have the passive to heal 5% hp per Friendly Hero next to them. Too bad i sold all my Tier 3 heroes not knowing some are unique
What?? Awkward and obscure??? You do realize it's the very same gesture being used in Maps and Google Maps (and I think any other map app) to pitch the camera from top-down to isometric?? The exact same gesture.
I really like the "slowness" of the game too. It feels like I'm moving around beastly marines that are wearing heavy armor unlike the more eastern approach to heavy armor action. I do agree with others that there should be a speed up button for enemy turns since, like others have mentioned, people play on the go and want a quicker experience. Rodeo is one of the best strategy developers for iOS and if the game follows tradition then it may be heavily expanded upon which I am looking forward to.
If u had to pick a 5x Blood Angels team, Or a 5x Wolf or 5x Ultramarine team, which would u guys choose? I like Ultramarine because they have Hunker down, 5% accuracy and 5% damage per ultramarine on team and their specific plasma weapon tier 4 never overheats. In summary I do also like Blood Angels too for more self heals and Wolf have strong HP self buffs, tough choice!
So when a weapon has a number of volleys, is the damage rating as if every volley hit? Like a bolt rifle with 7 volleys for 35 damage, each hit is 5 damage? I know there is a range but just for the principle here.
So I got this below Tier 4 unit but mine didn't have Hunker Down skill, so I'm assuming 1 of the skills on left colomn is random? Also scroll down for more observations So then this 3 Tier unit i got has Hunker down so I'm wondering does it have a better kit vs the Tier 4 unit? Looks like it's better to me Thren this 3 tier unit looks better than the below tier 4 unit. I'm confised why they made some tier 3 better than 4 tier.
Why won't this game display properly on an iPod touch? I've got the 6th generation so processor and RAM wise the game is fine but a lot of the text is cut off. Options button is barely visible on the main screen, can't use overwatch as the button must be off the screen and can't level up my marines nor exit from the level up screen. The game also looks like it's zoomed in to far which makes it look very pixelated and jaggy.
I feel that these two work best together. The T3 Champion has the sole purpose of crushing the toughest bugs. The T4 Honour Guard, with one extra AP, makes sure that the T3's "Hunker Down" is not wasted on lesser enemies. So T4 takes damages for the T3 and gets healed from the T3's "Triage" ability and his own "Regenerative Implants". I also have the Rite of Ultramar equipped, which gives them both 5% per turn. That's some impressive 15% for the T4. That said, I guess the developers want us to try different combinations. Elite soldiers from different chapter or mixed tier marines from the same chapter, etc.
Triage is only a self heal though, I believe it does not heal anyone else. It is actually hard to keep units close together for me anyhow because i tend to spread out to cover all the angles. I'm just hoping they add a way for us to craft the guns we want so we arent that RNG dependent, for me ive spent $400 USD on this game with sole purpose of getting the Tier 4 Laser or Missle Launcher and no luck, thats something like 450 packs and a ton of time selling heros and their gear- makes me wish for a "sell all tier 1" button lol. FYI $400 resulted in 19x tier 4 hero but many many duplicates, I'm nowhere near getting 1 of each. Also 24x tier 4 items (also tons of repeats and nowhere near having 1 of each). I would almost kill for a "trade 3 of tier 4 to get 1 of my choice" button. Haha! But Rodeo deserves the cash so i got no regrets. Here is my progress, missing mostly Tier 4 stuff Another comment: In my mind i expect them to make Tier 4 units better than Tier 3 in every instance but maybe that's their direction wanting some Tier 3 to be usable as top tier.
C'mon man! Give them a break! iPod touch shouldn't even be supported. The 6th generation came out last week, this game was released just a couple of days ago. How come Rodeo would have made it possible to optimize on an not-even-announced platform? I think the game recognizes the A8 CPU and "thinks" it's on an iPhone 6, but since the iPod touch has a 4" screen, some elements are cut off. They'll surely fix it. Just give them time.
My game got stuck in the enemy's turn, and I can't do anything to finish it manually. Anyone knows how to fix it?
