Certainly on easy mode: lose all xp for that character. Otherwise carry on as normal. (Retaining all purchased skills, traits, etc)

Must say, one thing that's chiseling my wick: since when have the Emperor's finest indulged in inane banter?

Yep when you die you lose ALL unspent xp not just the xp from the mission but all unspent xp that marine has.
Which is why I'm replaying chapter one to get xp to unlock abilitys etc before moving on as I'd hate to been saving up my xp then lose it all just before being able to unlock something. :D

Loving the game tho. Just finished chapter one and unlocked a new marine so now I can have a full team of ultra marines all with bolters, it's making replaying level 2 fun just watching them tear down waves of tyranids.

I love that there are reviews talking about the game not running on iPod 5. If the minimum is an iPhone 5 how could it run on an iPod. Gotta love stupidity.

Make sure your plasma isn't overloaded, it will prevent overwatch even if you have the AP and there is no indication that it's caused by your rifle being overloaded. Had me confused a couple times.

I noticed that as well. I hope it gets changed.

Also: the landmines not blocking LOS, but blocking shots is kinda strange.

Great point! The space marines have such large egos so they don't make way for their brothers.

This reminds me that space hulk is even worse. There were so many time that I wished the space marines could bend down and let the brother behind take a second shot at the gene stealers .

SH ios was intend to be a digital adaptation of the boardgame, following the boardgame rules. Some like it as it is, some apparantly dont (hence the ascension). But one needs to know its intended as a boardgame, digital.
"issues" like LoS, diagonal move etc are part of the rules in SH.
So for DW, maybe Rodeo follows/ adapts some of the rules or its a design choice, dont know.

After numerous battles, actually act V of veteran difficulty, I finally got the 3rd tier 4 space marine. So I'm torn between those guys. Any suggestions, brothers?

The Ultra Marine has got a nice 15 level and the active ability of reducing 90% of damage for one turn. CD is 2 turns I think. It is pretty handy when the kill team need to hold the line. The other guy, well, is a hero.

I think Assault +Plasma is great if you have this tier 4 plasma weapon (IT NEVER OVERHEATS) but is only 30% accuracy, it fires more than one bolt tho so it averages out to usually hitting more than once.

The below is what I put on my Tier 4 Blood Angel Assault

I get him to rush into enemies and then tank their damage and heal himself as he kills them.

--5% self heal from passive skill
--loses 5% hp every turn but gets 20% hp per kill from his wargear (total 25% heal per kill)
-Powerfist because he rarely uses melee weapon to kill so its passive 20% more damage helps the ranged weapon kill more. I do have a tier 4 sword with 15% dodge but I prefer this 20% damage self buff.

I am on Chapter 5 so about 20 missions in on normal difficulty, I'm sure it will get harder but for now I'm enjoying his crazy playstyle. If he gets in trouble 2 of my other guys have the Tier 1 Purity Seal -Canticle of Equilibrium which "Totals all friendly units health and shares it evenly" Which is great for a long range heal and another 2 of my guys have Tier 4 med kit to self heal 80% hp. That way I can self heal and aoe heal and sustain self heal with attacks for a lot of survivability.

I could have gone the "more damage" route that many of us prefer, but in this game a death could result in losing a lot of exp so I am trying build survivability over damage.

My first comment is how did you get to act V of Veteran difficulty so fast? Any maps you replayed because they give good exp per hour? I have put in a lot of hours in this game myself and I'm only Chapter 5 of Normal difficulty.

As for Tier 4 heroes, you should definitely focus on Tier 4 heroes even though you invested a lot of time in your Tier 3 units. You will eventually replace all your Tier 3 units with Tier 4 and you will do so because of hardest difficulty being very hard and also to help you in PVP Multiplayer. That's my opinion anyhow.

I wish there was a way to salvage some of the gained exp as we sell a hero and feed that exp to new units.

I still would very much love to know what the "Charmed Chrono" tier4 wargear does.

Brother Chaos, or should I say Ruinous Power, in the warhammer context? I had a 12-24 hr head start cuz I hail from Aisa where i still have a couple of itune accounts.

I did replay the "Ambush" mission quite a few times for retribution points. But except for the power fist and bolt pistol from Act II, I got no tier wargear above tier 2. I also had a tier 4 wolf guard and tier 3 ultra marine assault champion.

I didn't realize how powerful the combination was until the heroic assault marines as positioned adjacent to the tyrant, in a desperate attempt to shield the others. The assault marine took about 40 damages per enemy attract and retaliated with 400+ hps! Occasionally he landed a critical punch worth 1000+ damage. That's how I managed the last act. The overload of plasma weapons was great help too.

So that's why I don't wanna replace him with the Hourno Guard. Tier 4 as he is, there is no way he could stand before a tyrant for a whole turn of brutal melee attack, let alone kill it.

Quick question. Do I have to beat the game to play on harder difficulties or do I just have a bug? All of the levels I've beaten still only allow me to redo them on the normal difficulty

Good question, I'm curious too but I would assume u need to beat 10 chapters each of whichc consists of 4 missions and once u beat all 40 u can do it all again on next higher difficulty. Supposedly higher difficulties give more exp and chance at better drops, but are harder.

The veteran difficulty is a lot harder. Tyrannids hps are more than doubled, depending on their specimens. I'm having a hard time here.
