Adding in isometric view without environment transparency to enjoy that design choice is a flaw plain and simple. That isn't a matter of "just enjoy the game the way the developers intended". How can you enjoy that part of the game if you literally can't see anything? Also I went back and installed Warhammer Quest and sure enough I definitely felt how streamlined it is compared to this game. Turns chug along at a rapid pace, units move quickly (they don't take 2 seconds to turn and change direction before stepping). Arrows can also be fired in line directly over friendly units but that's another discussion altogether hahaha
I get irritated with using the flamer and aoe things like grenades and rockets, I'd like to be able to aim them at the middle unit not just the unit standing at the front. Makes them pretty useless items compared to how effective they would be if you could aim right. I also agree on the stepping diagonally you should be able to even if a marine is there because the square is still empty and they usually step diagonally anyway? I'm not too bothered about iso I just play top down for now. Firing over my own units would be nice but I guess that would make things too easy, always have to be wary I don't block los on my units with other units!
Had another crash on enemy turn and probably lost 2k exp per hero and maybe 20 minutes of my time. This is very annoying. I did post about the initial crash and contacted the Rodeo support about it in detail. I'm waiting for someone to give me step by step instructions on how to get the game save file so I can send them that as well. I'm hoping in future they add some type of craft system that allows us to eventually grind away and get the guns we want since currently if you are unlucky it doesn't matter if you put in 100, 200, 300, 400+ hours in the game, there is no guarantee you get that Missile Launcher tier 4 etc. It would also be ok with me if like in Warhammer Quest they had special named heroes from Warhammer lore you could purchase. I just changed my avatar to the Garfield teddy bear Pookie lol
My only complaint is this game is taking too much battery juice than it needs.. Not sure why the decision to use unreal 4.. It doesn't bring out the real power of this engine and totally draining the battery.. This game is will work just fine with hunters or wh engine..
I was asking this myself as well."Unreal 4"looks good on paper but even if the game looks good,it looks not THAT outstanding, even for app store standards. Anyway,i'm definitely happy about the game...don't forget,guys...it was just 5 bucks.Don't be mad if they couldn't deliver ALL needs different players have...and their old games got constantly updated so i think improvements are only a matter time. Even if the iso view feels a little"unnatural"(to put it mildly) as it is,would anybody prefer to NOT have it?I doubt it.
Maybe if they did not use the latest unreal engine, pple without the latest dev and with ios7 could buy.. Sulk lol
Someone had a suggestion to allow us to bring less than 5 units to a game so we can EXP up specific units quicker, that would also be a great challenge trying to beat some missions with 1-2 units. Would this be hard to implement? I really don't see any harm in giving us the option.
How does overwatch work on here and is there anyway to see how much it costs for each marine type? It seems sometimes I can do it with 1AP on a Tactical marine and 2 on a Devastator but then other times I can't do it at all with the same numbers. Am I just being thick and it's something obvious?
Weapons have different ap costs. This is covered in the first tutorial for example; Tactical weapons - 1ap Power fists - 2ap Heavy bolter - 2 ap Las cannons - 3 ap +1 for going on overwatch
iPhone 5 uses different materials and a different shader to get running. Basically, it's going to look different but you'll still be at 30fps
I would love to there to be terrain transparency as I like to play with it pitched as opposed to top down but I can barely play like that as the high walls on most maps blocks my view of my own marines and the enemy alike. Can't even select a grid/target behind the terrain. Also the flamer graphic cone of effect is like super pixelated. I ran into the enemy thinking turn loop as well and have to quit the mission. Edit: Also I don't think any melee weapons for space marines makes any attack sounds. Chainswords and Chainsaws on Apothecaries are a definite at the moment.
only time I've not got over watch to work is when my plasma gun is over heated. sometimes I never noticed that little over heat icon in the corner.
Ah it's the cost +1 Thanks for the replies y'all Edit: on a review I'd give 4 stars for the points raised by everyone else but gotta give an extra star just for the low low price. Cheers Rodeo
Yeah it costs 1 to go on overwatch, but if you don't have enough ap to shoot after that, you can't go on overwatch. The melee weapon sounds are fixed here ready for the patch
Yes, in the 4 mission. I sent a e-mail. If I reinstall the problem is fixed? but will I lose the Stuff acquired in the 2 packs I bought?
I have a question regarding the banter that goes on between the space marines. Are they tied down by the chapter they belong to? Only reason I ask if that one of the conversations mentions the Blood Angel's homeworld of Baal but an Ultramarine was delivering the line to Space Wolf or another Ultramarine in my squad as opposed to a Blood Angel being involved.
It's ridiculous how fiddly this is. Not only do they lack the option to change the default view, they use an awkward, obscure control scheme to do so manually. Still great fun to play, but a few small tweaks (and to be honest, extremely obvious tweaks....) could make this a much more enjoyable experience.
Oh, my. I just finished Act IV mission 2 (The Bridge) with only 2 Space Marines. It was brutal, I finished totally overwhelmed, losing 3 of my best dudes who had between 2k and 4k Xp points saved for a big upgrade. I'm so pissed but it's so awesome Honor your Chapter!
