Er, what? Car designs have changed dramatically over the years as a direct result of customer feedback. Your entire premise seems inherently flawed.
Any pro tips on using exp? Eg Save all xp in the tutorial levels (low risk) then buy the most expensive ability. Or Wait with traits/abilities and go stats first Etc Btw what are extra wargear slots used for? -the ones you can unlock with exp. You can still only carry/use 1-2 weapons right?
Yeah, I'm starting to get this impression as well. I don't mind the risk vs reward aspect of plasma weapons, but I'm not sure the reward in this case is worth it.
One word, "overload". In my last mission, a tier 2 plasma rifle, 5 action points, delivered 1,800+ damage in a single shot! That's more than the rest of the team combined could get close! Not a instant kill tough. Probably need two more of it.
Hmm, I'll have to play with the secondary fire more, that sounds pretty sweet. Still think using action points to unjam wouldn't hurt though, as often you aren't going to be shooting from a stationary position to maximize that ability.
You guys complaining about plasma weapons are silly. We should all be thanking the devs for only making them overheat for a turn and not making them explode and kill the user like they're prone to
I knew it wasn't the smartest example the moment I wrote it Let's just ditch it for the time being. My point is: what people are addressing in the game with feedback to me is not design improvements, just personal preferences and I don't like the idea of developers changing their game, which is a product of their personal preferences and design decisions, on the basis of someone else's preferences. Unless we're talking about some game breaking flaws (like the omission of iCloud support)
Take a look at demon hunters in the upcoming game forums, designed by Wavelight Games. He is basically designing his game based off of the preferences and inputs of the TA community and doing an amazing job. Secondly, I feel that many people are providing game enhancement suggestions and not based solely on personal preference. As you pointed out yourself, iCloud support, albeit not a game breaking flaw. A means of fast forwarding enemy turns... An enhancement that was suggested and ultimately implemented in WHQ. I guess what one may consider an enhancement, some may see as a preference and vise versa.
Tuzzo, I agree with most of your points and this being the Internet I agree that people do tend to complain more than praise. However, the speed issue is not about game mechanics, it's about how the game plays and the overall "flow" if you will. It's not adding anything to the game and is killing a lot of tension and is a detriment. Very rarely is "slow" a good thing in any game. I played this over my lunch hour and I had time for....one mission. For a game that lets you control 5 units at a time I should have been able to easily squeeze a couple of missions into the same time period. Keeping in mind, that's not a whole hour. For the old school X-Com or Jagged Alliance where you are control a dozen and sometimes more units with a horde of enemies you are trying to manage, a 30 to 45 minute mission execution is "speedy" For a small unit tactics game where I am literally doing nothing but waiting. It's not good. Also, one thing I look for is patterns. I am in the software business and when one customer complains about something everyone else is happy with I note it but if I can't find a problem or it will mess something else up for a bunch of people I shrug my shoulders and move on. If I have a lot of customers complaining about the exact same thing, it's time to take notice.
Well, with all the storm about (enemy) moving to slow etc i just want to post a different opinion:i think it's cool as it is (maybe a LITTLE faster). Because you can't see the moves (fog of war) doesn't mean the enemy is doing"nothing".I think it's fine when they are in line of sight.I definitely don't want to see (heavy) enemies moving/shooting like ants on amphetamine. That would kill the immersion for me.I can't compare so probably the enemy is thinking/turning (much)slower on older devices but i can't complain about the"playspeed"on Air 2. I think the best would be an option,so both fractions would be pleased. question: i'm not THAT far into the game but how can i get more AP points for my squad?Currently i have only a veteran where i can buy the "speed rush"ability (to "steal" 4 APs from my next turn if i understood it right) I really like the game and the marines look SO good, very well done!
