    Carnifex with Catalyst

Anyone have any advise on how to take down a Carnifex with the Catalyst ability (immune to crit and heals 30% every turn)? My team in pretty toothless without the critical damage boost. 2 round in I've only got him down to 6k hp.

Need more info about what difficulty you're on, what your squad make up is, and what equipment they have.

    Here's more info:
    Act 9 Part 3 Veteran
1-BA Tactical Champion (III) level 22 w/ level IV Wrath of Damocles Bolter
2-BA Tactical Champion (III) level 19 w/ level IV Wrath of Damocles Bolter
3-BA Tactical Sternguard (IV) level 21 w/ level IV Forge Bane Melta Gun
4-BA Tactical Champion (III) level 17 w/ level IV Moloc's Gift Bolter
5-UM Tactical Champion (III) level 20 w/ level IV Moloc's Gift Bolter

Most of these guys have the majority of their skills and abilities unlocked.

I also have available a SW Devastator Champion (III) level 22. He has most stuff unlocked but I don't have any good weapons above a level II (mastercrafted) for him.

I also have a BA Assault Champion (III) level 16. I have good equipment for him but not many skills unlocked yet.

I've been doing pretty well with my 5 man tactical squad. Marine 1&2 are pretty lethal with their bolsters due to several stacking crit boosts. But the crit immunity neuters them.

I got through all the other bosses pretty easily on part 2. But this super Carnifex ate me alive in part 3.

If you need high damage delivered fast, I think power fist is the best choice.
Cleave hits the carni twice, which is pretty neat. But you'd need to level your BA champion.
But if you don't have assault leveled up, meltas and multi meltas don't rely on crit damage much either, so you could consider bringing more.
Otherwise, heavy plasma should work, as you can stack the damages of 2 turns.

I've gotta say, I've passed up buying this four or five times now because it seems to average out to a solid 2.5-3 out of 5 across the board due to a combination of technical issues, IAP imbalance, and general bad game design.

As someone who loves TBS games and will never purchase in game currencies with real money, and who is running iOS 8.1 on a 5s, am I going to enjoy this game? Does the developer's other games still get supported?

I think you would be doing yourself a terrible disservice if you didn't buy this game. It's the best game I've ever played on my iPad. There is the option to buy card packs and it could be argued that they are needed to successfully beat the higher level missions but there is a huge amount of fun to be had even before you get there. It is definitely not a pay to win game. As for technical glitches, I don't know what people are complaining about. I've put in tens of hours into the game and there is only one bug I've run into that was a serious problem (the one mentioned above together with a solution). In fact, it's an extremely well polished game.

If you enjoyed Hunter's turn based strategy and you like Warhammer 40k, you really can't go wrong.

It is a great TBS game. Challenging and fun. That glitch was super frustrating. But the previously mentioned work around nixes that issue. Definitely worth buying.

Those are good ideas. I need to diversify. I do wish I had some better plasma weapons, but I'll keep grinding to level up assault and cross my fingers for some good Bolter alternatives. Thanks.

I have Warhammer Quest, which I have not played yet, but plan to begin soon... Should I get this one too? How does it compare to WQ? Is the 3.00 price a sale, or is this the new price point?

If you don't want to spend on IAP, you can get the PC version (no IAP, better loot and credit rewards). If the game does not work on your computer, you can get a steam refunds if you played less than 2h (of course, the game might become unplayable after more than 2 hours, but it seems to be a much rarer occurence).

    Hi Cstupac,

Run through these missions a few times to get:

Act 2, mission 4 to get the lvl III 'Plasma Cannon - Triplex Alpha' for your Devastator.

Act 3, mission 1 to get some lvl IV 'Plasma Gun - Pyre Talons' for your Tacticals.

Act 5, mission 4 to get lvl III 'Oath of Immortality'.

Act 7, mission 4 to get III 'Stun Grenade'

Use the Oaths and/or Stun grenades to delay the Carnifex and frag it with charged plasma shots for a few turns, possibly using stimpaks or other +AP means to make the plasma shots more deadly.

Worst case scenario... Heroic failure! Very 40K..

Are there mission specific relic rewards? I assumed it was random. That changes things. Is there a master list somewhere? Thanks for the advise.

FYI you cannot get the tier 4 rewards from playing missions on easy mode; they do have a small chance to drop on medium and a decent chance on hard. Just so you don't waste your time :)

You can however get the tier 3 rewards from easy mode missions

Been awful quiet from Rodeo. Left us hanging about an announcement.

Anyone from Rodeo care to jump in with an update?

Yeah, absolutely. I've retired the game for now, having run through it three times and got almost everything in the codex, there is really nothing left to do until an update comes out.

    Waiting anxiously...

I doubt there ever was an "update" or multiplayer, I sorta expected this from the start but I've definitely enjoyed this for whatever that's worth as a bunch of people probably have also. (Except maybe PC players lol)

I'm hoping there is a multiplayer in the works, I really enjoyed playing Deathwatch an exceptional game I thought, but having gone through it all at least three times I have no motivation to play it anymore. I finally got my Lone Wolf and Wolf Guard and not even a full Space Wolf team can get me playing it again at the minute :)

Lets hope we hear something from Rodeo soon :)

I played the Deathwatch multiplayer beta some time ago. And it was awesome!! So Deathwatch multiplayer definitely exists. Somewhere...
