People being hateful on steam? I don't believe it. # I thought steam was a virtual paradise for developers where gamers will purchase games for an unlimited amount of monies and never complain about the price or elements of the game. Unlike us petty mobile gamers who complain about having to spend even 1 dollar on a AAA title. Mobile gamers would rather buy a cup of coffee then give a developer one dime.
Moo? Well, that's a right reaction on premium title. Mind if I send you my current save and you record a video showing how one can complete the last mission with lvl9 marines without suitable gear? It looks like this game designed for lotsa grind so "moo" is what this game is worth of in its current state.
I completely second Pitta's last comment about the way that Rodeo could go forward with the game. I think he made some excellent suggestions and I hope they sound like good ideas to the devs at Rodeo. If the new chapters just get added to the pool and I can only get them through more IAPs, I'll never end up seeing them which would be a real shame. However, if we could buy a chapter for $5 or earn a specific higher Tier unit through daily missions, I would do that for sure. Like Pitta, I've also put in over 120 hours on the game and bought a LOT of packs and I still only have three Tier 4 units. I am still playing but it's losing the pull it had at first. I think, best of all, would be a set of new levels and an algorithm that, when you purchased a chapter, started you with all Tier 1 units. Then with the completion of each Area you were awarded a Tier 2 of that chapter on Normal, a Tier 3 on Veteran and a Tier 4 on Heroic. And yes, tweaking the experience acquisition rate would really help too. No one likes grinding and the game offers so many hours of enjoyable play across the three skill levels that it's just not necessary.
could you tell us why ppl who supported this game first on iOS have less generous drop rates? and none of his points were moot. they are spot on. and when does Rodeo plan to give back to the iOS players and make the drop rate as generous as the PC version?
for one thing, you are using the list price of the Steam version and the sale price of the iOS version. mobile games have typically been priced lower than their PC counterparts, and Steam prices usually take into account the massive sales that will happen. and as a user I dont find that price difference to be an argument. as a developer I know there may be other reasons, but ever since the loop bugs in the packs have been found I have felt Rodeo owed users something for that. as a user who bought a lot of IAP in part to support them I feel very unhappy about this. and therefore my 2 questions above.
Just because you don't like the reason doesn't make it true. I would rather have gotten a game without IAP as well but I don't think the market would have supported the price Rodeo games would have needed to charge to get a decent return on investment. So I think they made a compromise. Love it or hate it I think we got a lot of game for under $5 dollars.
/warning, bitter post incoming. For me, the PC version is the nail on the coffin. I'm sorry, I've never liked JRPG, or MMORPG, because grinding is stupid, I've better things to do in my life than pressing a button during hours and hours, in order to be powerful enough to beat the next boss. I know some people here managed to beat the game without doing the same level twice, even if I find it hard to believe, but that wasn't my case, maybe because I'm bad at it, or because I didn't have the luck to find good equipment, anyway I had to grind. That was bad, but I loved the game, so I did it in order to move forward. That is a bad part, another is that my IAP didn't get me anything worthwhile. Like playing at the casino, but with no chance to win. That was really bad. And now, after you milked the cow, you release a PC version with better content and no IAP, and as far as we know, there's nothing planned for the mobile version. I deeply regret the time of Warhammer Quest, that was a great game. Now I also regret giving you money for IAP, I feel like a fool. I payed in total nearly as much as the full PC price, but for a lesser game. Thanks guys, but this is the last time you get a dime from me.
Rodeo games is just adapting to different marketplaces. We should be applauding them instead of chastising them. Or maybe they'll be the next developer to give up on mobile.
That's good news. So maybe we can expect the multiplayer update to hit in the near future. That would be awesome! So, brother Pitta, are you still ready for some multiplayer action? It's been a long time since our beta matches. My space wolves team is looking for some fresh meat!
I'm sorry but no. What I see, is that Rodeo made a great game, Warhammer Quest, and then they told themselves, "hey, why not take everything we made on this great game, and add some elements here and there in order to make an even better game, and then cripple the thing with lottery f2p elements, increased difficulty to push people toward it, and call it a day ?". The PC version is just icing on the cake. So yeah, I get it, they need to make money, they're great at "adapting to different marketplaces", but applauding it ? Well, no. Must I give them another 20€ of useless IAP just in case ? Seriously, I don't want to sound rude but what you write is just incredible.
Glad I didn't buy the Steam version since I asked about multi on it pre-release and it was ignored so I figured something was up. Now it seems it'll be IOS only if even if exists, nothing really lost I'll just keep playing my phone version. Biggest gripe I hear about PC is that the expanded content is really nothing, getting Tier 2s in your loot pool that you'll never use for harder difficulties sorta pissed people off there. Would have made sense to make 3s and 4s for new chapters instead of 1/2.
Can someone confirm that Im incredible as well? Im enjoying it and havent dropped a single dime on IAP
So the fact that they obviously crippled their game to include IAP doesn't bother you ? Maybe you're one of the 10 people who finished the game without grinding, maybe you liked to spend hours grinding, and I'm glad you did. For me, that's a problem, because grinding isn't my idea of fun, and that random loot and marines means random difficulty, and if a developer wants my money, I prefer when they earn it, like in WQ, where I was really happy to spend money on new chapters, or new characters. Anyway, my point was that, and you can applaud them all you like, for me the lottery system and the low xp on missions are really bad inclusions, and seeing that there's a PC version with more content and no IAP saddens me.
Well, it was always a PC game. You are incredible. iOS 9.1 doesn't fix the game center issues btw, the wait continues.
