How will the multiplayer work? Is it PVP with your Marines vs. theirs? Will there be a co-op mode where you fight together to survive waves of enemies? I've never played any kind of multiplayer games but I've been thinking about it for this game. Hope I'm up to the challenge.
I ran into a brick wall in Act 4, Part 4. My guys aren't up to the task beating this boss. Up until this point and haven't found the game particularly challenging. So now I'm not sure if I should start over or replay old levels or what. I did waste some experience points because I quit a mission accidentally and lost a ton of XP points. I didn't realize how punitive the upgrading system exactly was until that happened.
I beat him in the first run through by using the grav gun to slow him, and hit him with overcharged plasma cannon shots (use at least 2 devastators). I think he goes down very quickly then. Later in the game you will have other tactics available (e.g. hunker down and damage reducing items, stun grenades) but that should get you through for now
I think it is a random drop from completion of a mission in that Act. Maybe replay the Act? It is probably 4:3 that drops it. It should be possible with just two plasma devastators though if you space them out and draw the carnifex in to attack other marines
Forget about the grav gun for dealing with the Carniflex in A4.M4. Get as many of your units as you can with Plasma weapons and use their overcharge on the beast. If you have any seals or auspexs to improve your crit rate, make sure you have them with you and that you have triggered them first. That is the best strategy I've seen so far for taking it down in one turn. Also, on another note, I posted earlier that A8.M2 only gave me the Kranken's Breath Tier 4 Flamer when I killed the Hive Tyrant in a single shot from the plasma cannon (rather than shots from all units). It just happened again. So far, I've one shot killed it twice out of 60 times that I've played the mission and both times I got the Tier 4 weapon. Really makes me wonder if there is some sneaky code in the algorithm for determining rewards that looks at how epic the victory was and rewards accordingly. Edit: Just disproved my own theory. Was running the level again and killed the Hive Tyrant with shots from my whole team. Still ended up with a Kraken's Breath. So I guess it's just really rare but it will drop eventually if you keep it up. I now have 3 Kranken's Breath...wish there was a way that I could trade with someone.
Act 9 part 3 stuck Hi all. Still playing almost daily but am totally stuck on veteran act 9 part 3 - Vortex - . Can make it to the last big bad creature along with all the fire breathing enemies but they end up totally destroying my group. 1 assualt Level 4 1 devastator level 3 3 tactical Level 3 x2 and level 4x1 Any tips greatly appreciated. Cheers Winko
Yeah the fire breathers are tough on the 2 higher difficulty levels, as its hard to melee them (explodes when killed). As other have written, heavy plasma with overcharge os you friend. My strategy was based around fast melee runners, together with a awesome assoult with bolter on overwatch and a heavy plasma to finish of. The melee goes in, spot aliens, then melee them or pull back out of los Alien moves into los and gets overwatched, then finished of in next round by overwatch guy. Then the heavy plasma kills any high hp alien with overcharge. When shooting with heavy plasma you should at least have 4-6 action points (from perk or equipment). +use equipment/power to increase accuracy, crit and crit damage. If you pop all (eg 8 ap, + crit + crit dam + e.g dam against giants) then you should do at least 3k dam and often 10k plus
Just curious, does anyone actually equip the Tier 4 "Death's Spite" grenade that does damage when your unit is killed? Who goes in to a battle expecting their unit to die? And to die at just the right time to make good strategic use of the grenade. This is a weird one in my opinion.
The grenade with 'dot' (eg flame) are also totally worthless, as you want to kill aliens in one turn. And on a boss alien, id rather shoot them with heavy plasma for 10k dam, than hurt them for 400+400 dot from grenade (if its even that high). Generally the aoe weapons are totally worthless in this game, apart from the 'cleave' melee attack
I just gave up and started over. Too many wasted opportunities in my first play through. I've focusing to upping my team accuracy otherwise the plasma overload doesn't do you much good.
All of these waiting is killing me literally. Why does it take Apple so long to fix the damn Game Center
Is someone here playing the pc version of deathwatch and can tell a little bit about it? I'm curious about the differences between the iOS and the pc version. Especially after I read this statement from Ben Murch on eurogamer: "We really wanted to put Deathwatch iOS on sale at a premium price, as that's what we feel it's worth. However, knowing that the audience wouldn't buy it like that, we had to chop the game up by putting in in-app purchases for the card packs and having a lower entry price. Which means that for £2.29, you only get a very small section of the full game. So, we've got only a very small piece of the game? I'm wondering what's all in that pc version... Btw: I would have bought it for the full price on iOS. Sometimes it's so sad to be an iOS gamer...
Me too, I just read one of the reviews says that the new chapters offer t2 marines only. Hopefully that's just bad luck. @RodeoMatthew congratulations on the release! Instabuy tonight!
Can anyone confirm this? I was really hoping that the new chapters would have as much variety as the existing three. Its a bit underwhelming if they are limited to tier 2. But, yes I am sorely tempted to try it on the pc!
