In act 4, hunted, I can't beat the carnifex boss...he's huge with high hp and kills me in two hits. Wipes out entire team. I can't make it to extraction pint fast enough hit to get by him either, so i have to fight him...and die.

What is your team load out?

There are numerous tactics for killing Carnifex and Hive Tyrants.

Here's a couple to get you started.

    - Equip some stun grenades to buy the time you need to kill him.
    - Use a marine with an oath of immortality wargear or the "hunker down" skill to hold the Carnifex in place and not take damage while your other marines kill it.

Also bear in mind that there is an element of RNG when it comes to the skills of the tyranids. Some of them have some tricky skills, so if you die once you might get an easier one next time.

Most importantly remember you are a Space Marine of the Deathwatch. You don't run from the Xenos filth...

2-4 (called Desperate Pursuit I think) can be cleared very quickly

Overcharged Plasma Cannon to the face and Grav Gun to slow him a bit worked for me on first play through

EDIT I think you normally get the Grav Gun on one of the immediately preceding missions should it should be easy to obtain if needed

So far, the best farming location for RP is A2.M4 - and it can be done without the enemy activating if you use stimpacks. Make sure you have your units in the correct position on the setup screen so that the one that picks up the brain is closest to it. If you need stim packs you can get them by playing A6.M3 or A9.M2.

If you don't have stim packs you can also run it with Space Wolves with a few Saga of the Iron Wolf's (pick them up in A1.M1 or A7.M3) and the Charge skill.

You need a total of 14 AP to make it to the destination before the Tyranids can trigger, saving you a huge amount of time. It can be done in under 2 minutes.

Anyone know of any other RP farming spots?

Try to start with all of your units in overwatch to hit him before he can reach you. Then block him with one unit with a pain suppressant or hunker down while the others fire. Use overcharged Plasma, nothing else hits as hard. And if you have a unit with the Preparation skill save his points when the others are in overwatch that first turn so that you can add them to a single super powered plasma shot. A unit with the Beast Slayer ability is useful here as well. Finally, if you have any Litany of Hate purity seals, trigger those as well.

This combination should enable you to knock him out in a single turn.

2 run turns to get to the end of the map - instant boss kill with plasma gun- end.

I can't recall, is there any other map that requires only a single unit to make it to a certain point the way that A2.M4 does?

Does anyone know if you can run in and grab the brain (the single objective spot) in A2.M3 without first killing the Tyrant Guards? I think it only appears after the second of the two guards is killed.

Sadly you still have to kill the Guards after collecting the Skull

Unless I'm missing something, there is no way to quickly farm A8.M2 Ambush. It is actually a fairly tough level that requires you to kill a Hive Tyrant, a Brood Lord and a Hive Guard (plus a couple of smaller guys) in order to achieve the objective.

Were you thinking of the level in which you kill just the brood lord as revenge?

    You're missing something... ;)

If you kill the Hive Tyrant in the turn when it arrives, the level ends with a victory right in that moment.

    Thanks for the verification guys!

I've hit some weird issue where if I have 2x stim packs equipped to the same space marine when I activate the first stim pack the second stim pack automatically greys out and becomes unavailable like I already used it.

    Is that expected?

If you haven't moved yet it might just be blocking you from wasting the second pack. 8 AP is the max a marine can have at one time.

So pop a stim, move then pop the second. I would assume that would work..?

Wierd it seems to be working now. I gave it another shot with a lvl-2 and lvl-3 stims.

Last time it acted like I had used both at once.. I swear I'm not crazy! LOL

thats from how fast you are clicking. I learned if you click them fast enough you can get multiple uses out of a single stim. whn you do that you kill off your marine really quickly.

Unreal engine doesn't support iCloud saves thats why Rodeo don't have it in the game, unfortunately! But you can physically copy your save file from your iPhone/ipad if this is of any use to you.

WHAT THEHECK. I bought two packs of the 39.99 requisition points, and earned and opened about 30-49 packs by grinding....still no tier 4 marines. Spent hundreds and no tier 4??? What . If one human deserves a tier 4 , just ONE...ITS THIS GUY, I spent almost $100 on the game, after I already paid for the game in the first place, grinder my ass off to open another 30 packs and I still just have 6 tier 3 and zero tier 4. Forget playin on higher difficulties without a tier 4 marine. Dev, please adjust the drop rate, it's pretty horrible.

Assuming my guesses are correct about rates, I'd expect three times as many tier 3 and half a dozen tier 4. That's horrible, horrible luck. That's "Is your game updated with the latest patch or are you using the broken RNG?" bad luck.

That is some miserable luck. I don't actually think the tier 4 drop rate needs adjusting, you've just been exceptionally unlucky. It certainly hasn't been too bad for me and I usually have the worst luck at anything RNG.

Even if you were playing pre-update you should have got some tier 4s for that many packs, they would probably have just been the same ones...
