I'm not a math guy but could part of the issue be the actual more limited pool of items that show up via IAP. So, I think only certain equipment pieces are available IAP and others have to be earned via missions. So, with a more limited pool of equipment combined with a limited pool of Marines that is skewed probability wise to certain types of lower tier Marines, wouldn't you have a decent chance of repeat packs once you open several hundred? Just a thought. On a wholly separate note, if I have a Marine with an ability that gives 100% accuracy for a turn and another ability that gives +40% damage and -10% accuracy and activate both, what is my accuracy for that turn? 100% or 90%? How do abilities stack in that situation and does it make a difference as to which I activate first?
I spoke too soon I got 2 long fang ancients today out of 10 packs. I thought it was a bit odd as i had another one a few days ago and wondered if those packs were identical; not sure. Then the next pack contained your lone wolf, t4 grav gun and inferno pistol...
How regular/often is this lone wolf/grav gun pack ocurring for you guys? Is it the same loop of packs or does it vary? I may screenshot packs from now on to see if there are other repititions
I have no idea. Please enlighten me.... And then see below... Don't worry though, you'll get your turn.
I screenshot every pack that has a Tier 4 item in it. I recommend you do the same. Don't be shocked if the next Tier 4 card you draw is a Stern Guard followed by an Honor guard.
Think you're reading me wrong, not saying you're wrong about the repetition just you saying how many packs people have opened - something you have absolutely no way of knowing. "...only a handful of people have bought/earned enough..." You can't know how many people have opened.
Yes. Not for all of them, but I literally pulled 3 Lone Wolfs in about 10 packs. Couldn't believe it. Gearing and levelling them now to be a monster assault squad option. It's a totally different style of play but I'm quite enjoying them! I'm currently packing 1 Oath of Immortality each, just in case. Might take a nova grenade for a couple of them just in case things get sticky in Heroic
Not that I'm bored by the endless arguing about the packs (though I am ), if I may, on the game topic, I finished Veteran yesterday, and had no real problem on the last two missions. I was prepared with high crit and big bug damage gear. I really like my space wolves team (2 devastator a long fang ancient and a champion, 1 assault lone wolf, 2 tactical the Fenris champion and a very mobile tier II). I like their AP buffs and traits a lot. So far 8.4 veteran has been the most difficult for me. And the two missions where I met the Hive Tyrant with 30% self regen and no crit damage (9.1 or 9.2 but not sure) Act one and two heroic were very manageable after that. I got the Tier IV sanguinary guard today so I might try a Blood angels crew. Thanks to the great spreadsheet done here (thks guys!), I'm grinding the missions in the first 2 acts heroic where I don't have one of the Tier III or IV loot. Not in a hurry to meet 1500 HP critters and I don't want to know how much the big guys have.
Found a Fire Pelt in a mission drop. Seems maybe all the items may have a chance to drop but some are extremely rare. Has anyone gotten a Litany of Endurance yet?
just my own 2 cents, I've opened around 160 packs, and im still missing 3 Tier 4s. On one hand, these odds seem okay to me, as they are usually worse in F2P games, but on the other, if someone is going to try to collect all of the classes, it's going to be hell on earth. once you get down to only missing 1 or 2, the odds on getting those are astronomical.
I get we're all board of speaking about it but it's important that people understand the current odds. Not talking about the odds of people filling a codex. Just people considering investing time or money in something simple like trying to build a squad you want I to try. Explained this situation of rng to a friend. And that I'd still like to play a squad with a master of relics. He took my save game and ran through what the next two thousand, 2,000, packs would turn out. No master of relic. Now it could be that the 2,001st card could give one. But the chances of that are low. Also noticed that other missing items didn't come up either. (Items that other people have confirmed come from packs). His opinion 'the RNG is ####ed. You're just seeing the same things over and over and won't ever get all possible outcomes.' Could be wrong. But I think it's important that people have an appreciation that, at the moment, there's a strong possibility that certain results from packs aren't available to your save/device. Play with what comes to you from basic gaming. But don't go crazy buying or grinding for RPs
@vicsark: I found A8M4 much easier by putting my team in the top right-hand corner. The tyranids seem to get strung out more and sometimes the pathfinding fails and you have to go looking for the last one or two big guys as they're just sat in the middle of the map.
When I first played through, I inserted a Sanguinary Guard into my Ultramarines crew. It meant I missed out on an extra brother in arms buff, but Sternguard + Firescream Meltagun = badass. If you do find that your Tier 2 Tactical isn't quite pulling his weight and you don't pick up an extra tier 3 Space Wolf, it's something to consider
Actually the tier-4 ultramarines tactical and assault are recognised as blood angels in-mission anyway, so you could possibly build a blood angels team which includes those. Edit: Because the point being is that they won't boost/be boosted by ultramarine abilities/wargear anyway.
I dislike your tone. I'll answer yours if you answer mine. How many packs I've bought for how you can say "..not enough people...". Like I say, not disputing, just that line: it's something you can't know and as such not a valid 'clarification', that's all mate. Bored of the pack chat too, it dominates because of certain people and from my experience other than marines I have one item left that I can only get in packs. Other than that I'm missing around 3/4 t4 marines. So in short, I'm happy with my seed atm, thanks for asking.
