i got the master of relic myself yesterday and already trying to get the doom of behemoth plasma but after a dozen replays (veteran) nothing to see yet.And i need 2 of them,abother for my T3 dev
I wish I could trade you one of mine. I've been very lucky and pulled 3 of them! I'm still using a T3 and T2 Dev in my UM squad though!!!
I experience it nearly every turn. I have 4 marines with Leadership ability, which gives them 1AP for every 2 marines they're next to. Then I have 2 marines with High Metabolism, which gives them a permanent +1 AP. The +1 AP counts towards overwatch. The Leadership ability does not. So it will look like I can put a marine into overwatch, then the Leadership APs drop off, and it turns out I can't. Same thing with any 1 turn bonuses, too. They will not be counted towards overwatch, so plan accordingly.

Any advice on 5.1 and 5.2 on Heroic? Finding it very hard to keep the Tyranids away from me for ten turns! Not enough firepower to kill them fast enough.
Stims that give +ap don't work in overwatch either, so if you can use them first then it lets you use 'your' ap for overwatch. Also, I'm 80% sure you can use Preparation to carry over stim ap to the next turn.
Squad is one T4 long fang with a plasma cannon, one T4 sanguinary guard with a power fist, one T3 ultramarine with Calths arrow, one T3 BA tactical with a grav gun I use him to slow them down and a T3 SW with Fenrisian frost axe, I managed it, but two deaths, mostly down to me being dumb, Tactical in los of an impaler cannon, and two pyros just toasted my UM tact as i didnt see them behind the smaller mobs and sheer luck two misses in a row from impaler cannon on my SW
Of course they would pay $15 dollars when that is the ONLY way to get a specific marine. I repeat, THAT WOULD BE THE ONLY WAY to get specific marines... Or weapons.
Nice one, must have been edge of the seat stuff So you use a fist? I have two sang guards, emp's maw, tempests' teeth and xeno crusher but always hated the ap cost for melee....convince me to go fist
Because who the hell wants to open themselves up to more enemy melee counter attacks by having to swing more times than necessary?
And I hope you stay lucky. I like the whole 1 AP to attack as it provides some movement and tactical flexibility. However, on heroic when enemies can one or two shot you, you want to maximize damage and minimize number of attacks. A fist does roughly double a sword... Ish. I'd rather do 4k damage in 2 hits vs 4.2k damage in 4 hits, making myself vulnerable to 4 counter attacks. Again, it's relative to the situation and ultimately it's your game so play it however you enjoy it most. My recommendation however... Fist for heroic
Wow this thread has grown since I last popped in. I just wanted to ask what the current status with the game & the iOS 9 beta is.
To limit counter punches from the tyranids and to maximize the damage in my own counter, I go xeno crusher. Didn't really use power fists much until I got that one, but going from 234-286 to 392-478 was sizable. 50% extra crit damage is nice, too, when I'm maxing out crit chances. But counterpunching is my reason for going with it. Edit: To dovetail on Lickzy's comment, I don't see a need to use a powerfist on Veteran.
I think i caught the bug where the "stay alive for x turns" never ends... Was there a way to tesolve this without quitting the mission? (Tried to manually search this thread, but couldnt find it in the first couple pages...)
Just played with a xeno smasher and see what you both mean now, the counter attacks with 100% dmg mitigation against the Carniflex are worth it alone.
