Speaking of which. I've just had an email back from a friend who knows way more about computers and games and how to do things with them than me. I explained my predicament with the RNG and that I'm convinced that there's some outcomes that aren't possible. I got this email back; 'I've ran your save game through. You want to know your future? You ain't getting that marine or the missing items even if you open up another 2,000 packs of cards. You've got more chance of winning the lottery, adding 6 inches to your penis and getting ripped in 4 weeks'
Happened to me sometimes too. Just exit the game game and reload, no need to exit the mission. Worked every time for me.
So...after being able to play without any issue till Act 2-3 on heroic...I encountered myself the dreaded 'never ending enemy turn'. I was all set already to extract the save and send it to Rodeo (I happen to have extracted previous status just before the mission, so no biggie) when I remembered someone wrote an empiric mode to get out the bug. I'm writing all this here instead of just Rodeo because if someone is stuck he can happily proceed without waiting or losing XP (I saved 45K XP); I'm sure Rodeo already knows and monitor the forum anyway. This is what happens. The game when a guard fires pans the camera towards the hit marine keeping the tilt and zoom level you set before. Panning is slow tough, much slower than the bullet (I wonder why they pan the camera AFTER being hit instead of before getting hit) so sometimes the guard fired ANOTHER bullet before you can even see your marine. If this happens and something else occurs then (like spawning xenos elsewhere requiring a new camera panning) the game hangs. What you need to do to resume is having the camera frame your hit marine before this happens. You can't control the camera during enemy turn (unfortunately, it would be cool) but when the 'enemy turn' message appears you have a 1-2 seconds window when you can actually move the camera. So if the bug hits you, kick the game out of memory and reload...as soon as you see enemy turn try to zoom out and tilt back as soon as possible...your aim is having the 'to be hit' marine visible on screen. If you manage to do it, you will proceed as normal. Took me several tries but worked...try it if you are stuck. And thanks to whoever found this first, you are a genius.
Yup, reload the game will solve it. this shld be fixed upcoming as the loading times for this game is not zippy
Woops, working my way through Heroic Act 9. Totally forgot that Black Rage shoots the Vortex bomb on 9.3, despite having read it plenty of times on here to know better! Epic Fail...
Eh been there done that in veteran myself. I actually was much dumber. I had completed the mission...just one genestealer remaining...but it was just side of the bomb. Noticed that Ripley missed just few XP for a new skill....so I moved her in front (perfectly aligned with alien and vortex bomb) and ignited the flamer. You can imagine the rest.
When it hangs place thumb and all fingers on screen, squeeze inwards like a pinch zoom, release, do a couple of times. This often rejigs it. Failing that hit home key to exit app, then double tap home key to get current apps running, then swipe out Deathwatch. Now reopen the app, usually it will resume from previous move after loading startup screen. DONT EXIT THE MISSION!!!!! You will lose all marines XP.
FYI to anyone still struggling to level their squad, I can confirm this technique still works following the patch (updated & tested 10/08/15). Your call as to whether you use it. Obviously I do. If you're spending time grinding as is, you may as well too
Woohoo, 9.4 Heroic done! My Champion has gained the honorific 'Tyrant-Bane' in honour of his proficiency at killing Hive Tyrants. He 1-shot the one in 8.2 and he 1-shot the one in 9.4!
Congrats Azrael!!! I'm curious...now that you completed fully the game with all 3 difficulties, which are your unlocks?
Unlocks? Edit: Ah I assume you mean wargear unlocks, sorry being dense... UM Devastator No.1 - First Company Relic, passive damage mitigation shield, Rite of Ultramar UM Devastator No.2 - First Company Relic, passive damage mitigation shield, Stimpack BA Sternguard - passive damage mitigation shield, passive dodge shield, Nova Grenade UM Tyranid War Vet - passive damage mitigation shield, passive dodge shield, Nova Grenade UM Honor Guard - passive damage mitigation shield, Iron Shield, Oath of Immortality So I went mainly defensive on the wargear to make up for lots of higher damage weapons. 2x Tier 4 Plasma cannons, 1x Tier 4 Meltagun, 1x Tier 4 bolter, 1x Tier 4 Power Axe + Tier 4 Bolt Pistol
I mean in the codex, what do you have unlocked and what you are still missing. 90%? 50%? I'm at Act 2 heroic and have about 50-60 % unlocked. Just curious. Ideally you should have almost everything unlocked. These are mine:
Ah I see, 14/23 Space Wolves 17/24 Blood Angels 19/24 Ultramarines 11/14 Grenades 16/21 Purity Seals 8/9 Shields 19/21 Misc 17/21 Bolt 9/12 Plasma 7/8 Flamer 8/9 Melta 4/4 Grav 12/23 Melee 5/5 Missile 3/4 Lascannon I make that 76% (although chapter specific gear is double counted in the codex)
I have pretty similar codex unlocks as you Pitta, only at Act 9 veteran but did a bit of grinding for specific items and for packs. Btw I still miss a lot of Tier 1 and 2 items, should I maybe replay normal with some n00bs to level up or just wait for them to show up in card packs? I guess my time would be better used doing veteran and later heroic missions though. Also for the XP grinding on 2.4, I realized you could activate two seals that give you one AP for a kill, they stack up. Add a stim pack in case of,Making my Tier 3 wolf head burn through the map mowing every Xenos by himself in one turn. He also has twice the ability of 20% chance gaining1 AP per tile moved (one as a trait, one on his bolster Gelure). Such a runner. The nice thing is I play the mission fast and still get around 2k XP for him and 500XP for the others, easy leveling up for newbies.
Ideally I see that by the end of heroic one has almost all loot unlocked (which is great IMHO). Marines are lower tough but seeing Azrael unlocks seems ok to me (Space wolves are still a bit down in the RNG thing). We do not know is they plan for other acts without new loot (so you would continue unlocking the starting ones) and it's planned to have almost everything by then. As Rodeo clearly put some serious manpower in all this, especially models and graphics, I'm sure they thought about this themselves and had plans to show everything (or almost everything) to anyone. No point in making something so beautiful and varied when just few people can see them. Personally I would like more marines unlocks during veteran and heroic, to let me build the team I want (and maybe a fixed path instead of a random thing). The random loot thing is perfect instead. But maybe it's just me and that's a game mechanic. I would like more marines in veteran especially because it takes a lot of time to skill them and you will need everything in heroic. I wanted to ask because despite all talks about luck, dupes, impressions, doubts etc...the unlocks are one of the hard facts about the game that it's not debatable so it's easy to check. Of course loot is more frequent because it drops at every mission and 2/3 of the packs are items. Birth...as you completed the game before anyone else and you are playing Heroic quite a lot...how are yours?
Question for the Rodeo guys - how many packs would they expect to be able to fill the codex? Roughly.
Here is where I am at, not really sure how many packs I have opened. Oddly enough I am still missing three T1 marines (is there a bug where you can't get the ones with beast slayer?)
