Sorry to jump back to the card issue
    1-RNG sucks.
2-this particular RNG really sucks, to the point you shouldn't be charging money to people when it's NOT possible to obtain certain items/marines
3-if you must use it, at least allow some narrowing of result. Eg let me buy an SW pack that will always be a sw plus random items. Maybe a little more chance of a sw specific item. It at least allowed people to narrow down what their money is spent on.

I think Matt wrote it is a unity bug. You have to return to the home screen before you lock the device, then you can return to the game immediately.

Loaded update, bring up game, try missions 8.3.... Enemy turn game stuck. Still.

I have lost so much xp to this but that I am getting annoyed. Not to mention, not being able to progress to the next difficulty.

I'm in complete agreement. Hell, I'd even pay a premium per pack, be it extra money or extra RP to be able to choose Chapter specific card packs. Great Idea. +1

Two of the largest issues pre-update...

    1) Game stuck on Enemy Turn
    2) Getting low-end and identical card packs with impossibility of collecting all marines

Post update, 2 largest issues are...

    1) Game stuck on Enemy Turn
    2) Getting identical card packs with impossibility of collecting all marines

But hey! At least my Narthecium counter attacks :D

    Does rite of ultramar stack?

If I have 2 equipped will all of my marines gain 10% HP every turn as opposed to 5%? Can anyone confirm?

I want to buy packs but won't do it for the same four low tier marines. Can't we introduce a guarantee e.g buy a 2 pack and get at least a vet guaranteed, buy a ten pack and get at least a champion guaranteed and buy a 30 pack and get at least a hero guaranteed?

From my experiences, 30 packs of cards should net you at least a couple T4 marines, based on my experience since 1.1 patch

sounds about right. I worked it out as about 6% chance of a t4 marine, before the patch. Haven't checked since, but it sounds like it's even a little higher.

XP required per level starts off at 250XP to upgrade from level 1 to level 2, then increases each level thereafter by an ever increasing factor of 50:

XP required for next level = XP required for current level + (current level x 50)

    So, XP required for;
    level 3 = 250 + (2 x 50) = 350 (cumulative XP = 600)
    level 4 = 350 + (3 x 50) = 500 (cumulative XP = 1,100)
    level 5 = 500 + (4 x 50) = 700 (cumulative XP = 1,800)
    level 6 = 600 + (5 x 50) = 950 (cumulative XP = 2,750)
    ....
    level 50 = 59,000 + (49 x 50) = 61,450 (cumulative XP = 1,051,050)

I can confirm that crit caps out at 50%. I have taken accuracy to 70% and it is possible to go higher than this (if I had to guess I would say 80% based on weapon accuracy bonuses). With accuracy so high, crit and crit damage on weapons become far and away the most valuable weapon stats.

EDIT: The raw data pasted really badly and was well spammy so I added it to the google spreadsheet (link)

    Some fine work.

You can have 100% accuracy. And I think the max health is about 400.

I worked it out and you'd need ~5.5million to max everything. Which would end up around level 85/86.

Obviously, you don't need that high accuracy.

I agree with your analysis, but for a point: you can't expect to complete any collection of whatever nature with just random acquisition. You could potentially play all your life, grinding RP to buy packs or spend thousands of dollars and never get those 3 last cards. Never.
So either the codex isn't supposed to be completed or some sort of crafting/trading is coming at some point.
I don't think Rodeo is such a company to thrive on delusioned gamers spending a fortune trying to get the impossible...

And this, my friend, is called exploiting and it shouldn't be condoned nor shared, but submitted to the devs so they can fix it.
It's not a "trick", it's a flaw in the game code and your substantially exploiting it to get more XP. We're talking about game strategies to get fast XP and RP here, not looking for code holes.

It's not a bug. It depends on how much RAM your device has. If you lock your device or exit to the home screen, iOS unloads the game from memory if it thinks there's not enough free, so the next time you return to the game, it has to be reloaded (it saves at the end of each turn, so if you moved all your marines but didn't end your turn, you'll start at the beginning and have to redo all of your actions).
On my iPhone 5s if I receive a call, it goes back to the game without reloading after the call, while if I lock the device and then unlock it, the game has to be reloaded.

Lol what a way of implementing IAPs to let people spend for the "hopes" of getting something/ "I think I'm lucky, one more time.." playing right into the mindset. But sure looks like it's pretty successful given how many still buy more and more packs to try their luck/ "show support" :D

Thankyou for the respectful tone of your post. I have enjoyed your constructive contributions in this thread to date.

That said, I respectfully disagree with your recommended actions in the case of this exploit ("technique"). As I have bought the game, I'm free to enjoy it as I see fit as long as I'm not infringing on the right of anyone else to do the same. I'm sharing this technique so that others have the option of using it. Nobody is obliged to use it.

    I have chosen to do so because it addresses a number of game mechanics which I don't find enjoyable;

    • [*] - I'm a fairly casual player, and I don't like the idea that several hours worth of progress can be wiped out so easily. It forces a slow, conservative playstyle which pits me against my patience as much as it pits me against the mobs
[*] - Slow animations compound this
[*] - I don't like the amount of grinding required to up-skill new marines
[*] - Random IAP is a horrendous design feature
[*] - Lastly, and honestly, my cassus belli (aka entitlement complex). I lost my first squad and my only Tier IV marine to the locked screen bug. Despite $50 worth of IAP, I have yet to see another Tier 4. I am super jelly of all those folks rocking 5 x T4 on this thread. The notion that I (and others) should start again from scratch when we finally get the marines we want is frustrating beyond belief. So here's a workaround.

Thanks to this technique, I find that I am enjoying the game much more. I'm not agonizing over the occasional death, I don't need to grind and I can quit levels if I'm bored.

I have some sympathy for anyone who competes against such a boosted squad in multiplayer. But in a game which already has savage RNG, grinding and pay2win... I can do this with a clear conscience.

Thanks, RAM limit was my guess at the problem, but just wanted to see if others had the same experience, fingers crossed for a 6S in a month or so with more than 1GB of RAM!

Just my 2 cents on the RNG thing.

I'm pretty sure Rodeo will intervene if there is something wrong with the RNG code, as some people seems to imply.
I'm a bit sick of finding my 15 Power Sword and my 12 tier 2 devastator too.
I thought I would have found better marines during veteran, but no luck....on Heroic now and still sticking with the same team I've completed normal with.
Not a bad thing per se, but after completing the game twice I now have a clear idea of perks and such and I would like to build the team I want, something not possible.
It's relevant even WHEN you find someone because of the time you must invest to let them grow....so finding all tiers 4 last Heroic mission is a bit pointless as I refuse to grind.
And I might add I do not want tier 4 marines for powers...but because they look way cooler in game.
That said I think it's really unrealistic asking or hoping for things that require massive changes on UI or the game in general...like crafting or trading (maybe buying with RP from the Codex could be addded, packs shop style).

What I would really like to see tough is something less invasive but that can potentially solve a lot of problems, moanings and let people happily spend hundreds without fear (I'm astonished by how much people can spend...but every cent thrown to Rodeo is appreciated).
CHECK FOR DUPES before the RNG and adjust accordingly with varied chances in a way that by the end of Heroic (or a bit more) you actually can complete the collection and find your desired play style.
If one is willing to spend, they would just complete the collection potentially faster.
NOTE that this won't change balance in any way, read further about pay2win (it's not).
I'm pretty sure Rodeo didn't thought this system to have people spend thousands trying to complete an impossible collection...so they won't lose money doing so, by the time one hits heroic he already played over 40 hours and spent what they wanted.
And I'm sure they will never have different RNG code for normal play and bought packs, to keep things easier to code and fair between players.

And this would solve another potential problem.
I have no clue which are the plans for the future but I really hope we will see new campaigns and many ask for new chapters.
I really would like a single iap that unlocks a new campaign AND a new chapter (this would be easier to balance too) to use but thinking of WHQ maybe they could have single chapter iaps.
And with the system up now...what that could mean? Will it be added to the RNG picks? So I could buy it (I will for sure) and j could never see them?
Pretty unlikely, I'm curious what the future will bring and how Rodeo thought it.

A final note as I've read sometimes people, seeing iaps, think the game is pay to win.
    It's not, absolutely not.
And this very discussion proves it (some people spent hundreds and found nothing better than others).
Also...the only certain thing is that a tier 1 marine leveled up with actual PLAYING is much better than a just bought tier 4.
They let you buy the possibility of stuff (they are really clear on that) but you can't buy XPs or skills.
And let me remind people that we do not know anything about mp yet...people are assuming too much.

    Just my 2 cents.
