send Rodeo your save file! You can access it via itunes file sharing. They need it for debugging and probably Mathew is kind enough to bring your troop one step further.I saw him at least offering this here to other people.
Thanks for the suggestion, but I've already exited the mission. I'll be sure to do that the next time.
Your enthusiasm sure is fun to read. I'll be interested to hear from you regarding your experiences in heroic. It's a whole 'nother ball game. Everything is such a bullet sponge. Once you get past the 400hp first level enemies, the tyranid warriors and pyros get 1500hp...and then it goes up from there. WAAAAAAY up. The good news, though, is that each successful mission gives you 10 requisition points --- not counting anything you sell --- so getting to new decks of cards is faster. Heck, one of the slowest parts of the game is integrating a new marine into the lineup, getting all the slots unlocked. But it's necessary to have any shot at finishing heroic. Hopefully you'll be able to get through it all with your current setup. Congrats on finishing veteran! Did you let out another big whoop that startled your wife?
I was all alone this time. I already completed first mission on Heroic...woah....you must be careful even with the basic critters now (400HP) I used to breeze in this map but I soon stopped and carefully covered any angle slowly proceeding towards the biomass pools and the extraction point. Can't imagine the next...we will see, I hope not to have to resort to mindless grinding. I got around 4/5K XP per marine...not bad...I didn't even noticed the RP...but was really unlucky with packs during all veteran (not a single over veteran marine, not even one) so maybe I'll stick with my actual squad...not sure it can be enough for Heroic (all champions but a sanguinary guard). On a side note...it's the first time I really play first level on a iPhone 6 and not on iPad Air. Woah the graphics is even more glorious!!! EDIT: using your +APs skill with the 0.5 increments rounded up thing all the time now, thanks...was a real life saver with the devastator. 6 AP charged plasma cannon (master crafted) : Carnifex or the four arms gigantic thing one shotted. 5 AP charged plasma cannon (master crafted) : Carnifex or the four arms gigantic thing Half scratched. Makes a whole difference.
I've noticed that my Honour Guard speaks as a Blood Angel during mission dialogue, GoG seems to apply to him though? Unless I'm just super unobservant.
And it seems I might be cursed, after getting two dupe T3s today I get a dupe T4. Only my forth T4 so far.
Hmmm...if it's still hanging (haven't updated mine) and losing XP, and cloud save is off the menu, how about a local save with save slots? I guess it would partly take away the tense atmosphere of losing XP if a marine dies if you can restore, but you'd still have to replay the scenario- like in XCOM EW where if you'd built up a good mech soldier for hours and lost him/her in a mission, you could load the game from before and replay the mission until getting through without losing any important soldiers. Only a temporary fix though I guess. Just a thought...
Actually 15 Requisition Points, you really do motor through the packs on Heroic. I packed a couple of Tier 4s after I splurged on packs with the update. I've halted my progress through Heroic at about Act 4 to level them up a bit. You're right though, it is a whole other ball game...so much potential pain and misery
Sure am. Posted a few pages back. Exact same cards in 2 different packs. Fortunately they had Tier 4s in them, unfortunately I didn't need any more of them
Thanks for confirming. Sorry you are affected too. Sadly my foursome are a champion I don't want, a vet I don't want and two normal troopers. I almost bought a 30 pack, that would have been disappointing ...
Yeah, Act III-3 and 4 were eye opening, lol. I was used to taking my time, or at least being semi deliberate through most of the maps. Then with those two I couldn't mess around. I can beat the maps regularly, but I can't dawdle. Just get the job done and move on, hehe.
Is the tier 4 priest any good? He's my second t4 I obtained a few days ago. Haven't leveling him a ton (level 5) but I don't wanna level him if he's no good. Seems lots avoid him?
I think he's outstanding in the right team. He's the only Tier 4 apothecary. He has the potential to have 11 action points in a single round without using any gear. The problem is he doesn't have good damage based perks. Once you get to Heroic, it's tough to kill everything with only your damage dealing soldiers, so everyone has to carry their weight. The apothecaries can't use the normal melee weapons. The Tier IV narthecium is only available through the card packs, and it has no special abilities attached to it. Because of the massive amounts of action points he can have I could see it being great for PvP. You could add a dodge boost wargear for a 45% dodge ability. The 50% heal is fine as long as whoever he's healing isn't facing an enemy that can kill him in one turn --- and many of the worst enemies can. He has a 30% melee damage reducing ability, which is good. It's just tough to see him as a good end game unit in Act 9, because you're going against massive hit point enemies who can take out your soldier in one turn with ease if the soldier doesn't have excellent damage mitigation for that turn. In the meantime there are swarms of 600 and 1500 hit point enemies coming at you as well, that have to be taken care of without using your biggest damage dealers, because they have to be reserved for hits on the biggest enemies sporting over 10k in hit points. Healing 50% of missing health, or being able to move 11 tiles in one turn, doesn't seem to be a huge asset in those situations compared with being able to take out some of the swarms coming after you.
I know they are both phones, but I just overwritten my iPhone 6 DeathWatchGame folder with the one taken from the iPhone 5s where I have been playing since release and I had no problem whatsoever. The game launched in the very same state in which I left it on the 5s, so I'm assuming you won't have any problem doing the same between iPhone and iPad.
Nemer suggested you quit the mission and start over, but that woul mean losing all unspent XP on all your 5 marines. You coul try force closing the game (double tap home button to open App Switcher and swipe up on the game picture to close it). Then open it again and as soon as the splash screen appears, pinch the screen as if you wanted to zoom in an out. Keep on pinching in an out up to the moment the game has completely loaded and you see the"Enemy turn" text. You shoul have reset the camera by then, which is what's causing the endless movement. Shouldn't this work the first time, try again several times, don't lose hope. If nothin works, get the save file from iTunes through file sharing and send them to support; they should be able to fix that for you, so you can keep on playing without unnecessary XP loss.
I tried that several times. Gave up and took the XP hit. I got out of 2.2 with only 1 team member so the XP loss wasn't horrible. If the game does it again, I'll send the save to Rodeo. What was interesting about the game hanging in 2.3, was if I proceeded up the narrow hall where the game spawns you, it would hang after I finished my moves. When I took my Marines to the larger opening to the right, the level played just fine.
Backup the game saves folder on your computer through iTunes' file sharing and if something goes wrong, overwrite the save on the iPhone/iPad with the backup.
That sure is odd. First time I played that mission I didn't notice there was a way in from the opening on the right, nevertheless I sent a couple of my marines in that direction. I'm curious to try and move all of them up the narrow path to see if I can replicate the issue. Maybe not very soon, since I don't have my computer here and can't backup the saves before trying
